ok...might be a little offtopic, because we talk about pro evo here-football game which has nothing to do with basketball and 2ksports...but, i've just seen the trailer of the new nba2k10 and it crossed my mind....
how come they are so much ahead in player looks, crowd reactions, animations, movements??

if they ever wish to expand their interests by creating a football game i think ea and konami would have a strong competition

look for yourself.....http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RIQTyRV6Z3E

i remember playing the 08 demo and my brother thought it was real for a split second. the graphics and animations are stunning and it all looks very authentic with the crowd, commentators, subs and coaches in view. however 2k do plenty wrong as well. look at their tennis games, Top Spin 3 had no atmosphere what so ever and they seemed to be scared of upsetting anybody thus giving them all pretty much equal stats. i think the basketball is the best 2k has to offer, they even threw in a useless character download on Top Spin 3, it was pointless because they didnt release any players for download!

I think more games need to take note of what EA have done with Fight ~Night Round 4 with their boxer share, thats awesome, people create some terrific looking fighters using gameface and upload them for you, thats what Top Spin should have had, and it would work well in PES for all those missing players or players whose appearance sucks.

a have to agree with you john4....must admit that i've wrote this thread based only on nba from 2ksports cant say im a fan of top spin
although im no basketball fan im sure this game is a guideline for everyone making sports games and there are many things you could use to improve theese curent football games....

commentators talking lively, having subjects, laughing...not just saying the obvious things

crowd....no need to say anything
animations and movements very natural so many people realy have a feeling their watching a live game
im sure theese things are yet to come in pro evo, (for example they had 360 movement long ago)

they should have 5-6 for each team.

In fifa 10 they always say "barcalona are more like a national team than a club team." How about 3-4 more like for arsenal eg. "Since Wenger came success has come with him." "Arsenal are now known for free flowing football but believe or not before were known as boring. boring Arsenal." "Arsenal are looking for some silverware after x years of not having any."

Animations as konami said should be excellent. Boos and whistles when a bad challenge is made, boos when that player gets the ball again. (commentators say "Well he isnt a popular player" or something along those lines). Same when a player dives. When the home team score, sound system should nearly break with noise. When away team scores, cheers should only be heard from far away.

I said this about PES2009 and going onto PES2010 with the infamous Amateur. They know how to make a sports game, thats for sure.

Exactly. There is no excuse for Konami to not have all of these minor, but very effective details in these games. I was playing UEFA 2008 the other day, just to get a different perspective again after not playing FIFA for along time ( and now I know why ) , anyways, as bad as the game was, the details were still very very nice. I liked the addition of the coaches on the sidelines. Or the replays that they dont only show when it just happened but repeat that same replay again the next time a throw in or soething of that nature happens. Details like Desijut mentioned above. The commentators actaully mention the players and teams that are playing. Anyways yea, no excuse for Konami to not have these things. Along with a normal scoreboard as well... why the flags? why! haha

they do overlook the importance of sound thats for sure. its a minor thing but it would make a major impact if done properly

2K should come out with a 2k Football (soccer) game.

The crowd, movements, and atmosphere are just unimaginable.

Please teach Konami how to do this!!! Someone!!!

the competition would be nice, i wont stay loyal to a game for the sakes of it, i will play which ever is best, and if 2k made one and it was the best then i wouldnt buy PES.

i used to buy all 2k games for nhl and nfl.....nfl2k series was amazing until 2005 when they could not make it anymore.....nhl was good until like 2k7 but now i get ea's nhl because its really good.

The NBA Live 10 crowd seems to be quite loud at the Staples Center in the demo. I was quite surprised.

NBA Live should be stepping up this year and in the coming years because they snatched one of 2K's best developers :realmad: Barry, have you bought the Draft Combine?

I think it would be harsh to ask Konami to do this for a major football game, take a basketball match and a football match, the latter has much more detail involved and you cant expect them to do all that.

Well, theoretically you can devote a lot more processing power to each player model in a basketball game because you only have 10 people on the court, vs. 22 in football/american football and football/soccer.

I'd imagine that has a major impact on the graphics/animation and why it looks so much better than other games.

Same thing with Hockey, only 12 total players on the ice at one time.

Crowd, TV presentation, Commentary....i'd take that for my PES game

Haven't, probably not going to HH. Still I can hardly wait for 2k10.

it does look really pretty, but when i played the demo i kind of sucked, i think you have to be interested in the sport and give it some dedication, whereas PES is a pick up and play type of game and a serious one. i have mates who dont like football but love PES multiplayer when we are all together with a few beers.

anyways feck NBA2k10 and EA's, give me NBA Jam for the SNES anyday, now that game rocked!
