I like your positive attitude towards PES......but like many others you will soon realize the truth.

MGS5 and PES14 were created on the same engine. MGS5 is on the next gen systems......PES is not!

There is no 2 year work on PES .....nor 1 year ......

PES is just a game on the back burner that they pick up about 6 months before its release.

You should take a look at Fifa on the PS4 and the Xbox One. Not a major improvement......but at least they are trying.

PES is dead!

I played FIFA on Xbox One and my friend has it. Its awful, it's really not as good as the last versions of FIFA. They do 'claim' to have a new engine but its definitely just the old one with new code added in, so technically its new... In my opinion and my friends' the game is a load of crap. Sugarcoat it all you want but the game is poor.

On the other hand I have to say pes is not much better, if not worse. I think PES has huge potential as the engine looks amazing, even on current gen it looks better than FIFA next gen and the animations are great. The PES trademark passing and shooting and random events are still there but the game feels so clunky and slow. I know the players have weight which is good but it feels as though your not in control fully a lot of the time which is a massive disappointment.

The potential with PES is there but will Konami get their finger out and fix the game? Not so sure, but they have to be commended for trying a new approach and it will pay off in buckets if they get it right.

OCKRASS, I really don't know what your on about, FIFA is a rehash of the last 4 games with 'slightly' better graphics. The game lacks soul, in my opinion its the worst of the last 4 years. I would love it if EA built a new engine and really had a good game but its bringing in the money still so why would they?

I like opinions on games and welcome them, but comments like PES is dead is a little premature... Games go through stages and PES is at the beginning of a new life cycle and in my opinion FIFA is coming to the end of its engine cycle (Pretty obvious by the small incremental updates each year). So there are going to be issues, but I think they made the correct decision waiting a year to release on next gen. The new engine is here now spend the year optimising, then come to next gen with a bang.

If next years version is lacking then it will be a disappointment, but its pretty obvious why the one this year is not quite there yet.

I tried to like the game as much as i can, but frankly, the game is garbage. I will be getting my PS4 soon and will ditch this crap called PES 2014 into trash and i will be buying FIFA 14 on PS4.

PES Series is irrelevant and you will see it in next year sales. As much as I have been a PES only fan since 2004, this year release is obsolete Bu****it.

Many many problems exists and still need to be fixed. The online lag, the frequent disconnections, the cheaters ......... How about players standing still while ball pass by with no reaction? How many times i try to clear the ball away from the goal line and the defender just scores an own goal.

Konami just created a mess and theywill never be able to recover.

I respect your opinion dude, but i have heard stuff like this for the past 8 years ......I am yet to see any results. Always .."it will be better next year" ...and the next ...and the next ....

In regards to Fifa, it is basically the same old story ...."Fifa has no soul"!

WTF does that even mean? What is a soul?

We should try to remove the biases against Fifa and recognize that PES has not done anything that we can be proud of in over a decade.

....Its in the game.

To be fair im not holding out massive hope that they will get it right, but I can totally see the potential. The physics in the engine are good and graphics much better.

FIFA is a 70% game in my opinion. They get by on the big licenses and marketing campaigns that trick people into thinking their games are good.

Players 'float' across the pitch, actually thought it was worse in the next gen version than ive seen it. The skills make me laugh so much, they are ridiculous and way too easy to pull off, it just looks so stupid. Every player is the same, bar slight speed and strength stats. This is one thing in my opinion that FIFA has never managed to pull off. You can really feel the difference in players in PES. The goals you score just are not as random as PES, most goals feel too similar. Which is what I mean by soul.

I would love FIFA to be amazing, it would be icing on the cake with all the licenses they have. But every time I play it, it just does not feel as good as PES 'was'.

I used to play FIFA 97/98/99/2003 but to be honest apart from 99 they were sub standard. They settle on creating a decent effort and watch the money roll in.

The latest pes is probably the worst (apart from 2008) that ive ever played, but this is mainly because it feels half finished. If the Xbox One version is rubbish im finished on PES for a while and also FIFA if that doesnt improve, which im not holding out hope for either...

...so are you saying that you have not really "played" a Fifa game since 2003?

Even at 70% ....Fifa is still kicking PES ass all over the court...and please don't believe those generic excuses about Fifa tricking millions and millions of fans with licenses and marketing campaigns.....we are not all that stupid.

There is only one reason Fifa is the best game on the planet .....and I know you can figure why that is. There is also one reason why PES is the worst football game on the planet ....and i am sure it has nothing to do with licenses and marketing campaigns since they never had those when they were on top.

I play Fifa and i do not experience any players floating over the pitch. Although it is easy to pull of SOME tricks ....it does not mean you will beat an opponent.

Great graphics, spectacular animation, smooth game play, great online community, boots, balls, multiple game modes, improved AI, kits, lag free games, daily updated rosters, millions of users for easy head to head pairing......etc

I could go on and on to explain why millions of us have chosen to play Fifa over PES. The yearly improvements are minimal but they always seem to address some of the problems without breaking the game.

It is far from where anyone would expect it to be ....but it is playable and addictive. Fifa has its problems ...but not bad enough to make the game horrible.

PES on the other hand is a disgrace......period.

Take my advice, but Fifa and try it for at least a day or two....
It will remove the blinkers from your eyes.

peace

I owned FIFA 2003/09/10/11

Personally I liked PES 12/13 better than FIFA in those years but this year I don't like either. Yes ive played the latest FIFA on my friends Xbox One and I don't like it. Sorry to offend I just think it feels recycled and an average game. I 100% think in the last 2 years FIFA had potential but blew it. But Im not saying PES is much better, in fact this year it is worse than FIFA. But again, that is not saying much...

I don't have blinkers on, sorry I just think that the PES engine has more potential than the FIFA engine. I will eat my words if FIFA brings a new engine (Ignite?! Give me a break...) but I can't see that considering how much they sell.

You are very naive if you think that EA doesnt sell a lot of copies to the drones through their marketing campaigns and licenses... In fact, your biased to FIFA in such a strange way, that im inclined to think you fall into this category.

There are positives in both games and while I think FIFA is marginally better than broken PES, I feel PES just has more potential. But we all know Konami so this may not be the case...

I wouldnt mind 2k games having a fresh go at the football genre if im honest.

I have played PES for the last 15/16 years always. I had order the PS4 in May/Juny so i had my console 29, November in Holland. First I thought that PES14 will also comes to the PS4, but it wasn't. So I order the PS3 version also to play PES like every year. The first time when i played it was really fucked up to see only 18 stadiums.. no rain/snow no feeling like whe are playing in the Camp Nou.. The license of the English Premier leauge is not a big problem. You can just download a option file and everything is alright. But when I saw how slow it loads it was terrible. Whe are in 2013/2014 and not 2006 anymore, Whe all payed like 50,-euro for the game.

You know i thought maybe with the DLC update for the ps3, everything will be alright, but it didn't. Only the transfer updates and a few new boots and only little thing.

-No normal base copy.
-Lag in the game.
-No rain/snow
-Only 18 stadiums
-No stadium creator
-Players dont look
- etc..etc..

I will wait for the PS4 version and hopefully it will get more options and better things like now.. Because whe are in 2014, and not 2006 anymore..

We might be in 2014 but the PS3 hardware is from 2007, its not up to the task anymore for high def gaming. On my PC with PES 2014 the load times are fractions of a second.

Well FIFA might be a big guy with copyright and all. They said they are the front of the football gaming with the graphics, engine, technology etc. Half true.

FIFA itself cant evolved without a strong challenger like KONAMI.

I remember the old button configuration of FIFA on PS2. X button for change active player and triangle button for sprint. Well at that time KONAMI had already take advantage of the shoulder button, L1 for change active player and L2 for sprint. That give rooms for through pass with triangle and pressing opponent with X. You can even combine the button to lob keeper or lobbed through pass. YEARS AFTER THAT....FIFA changed the button configuration....just like...who else? KONAMI!

After all, FIFA cant compete with international teams and edit mode that PES have offer. Yes, most teams are unlicensed, still KONAMI give us edit mode to made up with it. FIFA? Nahh...because it is licensed, u cant even edit it. Try add Japan team to FIFA. Hmmm. Try edit unlicensed national team in FIFA. Hmmm. Yes, they will rip u off in another copy of "Official World Cup 2014" games.

So as conclusion, no matter how "big" FIFA claims it will be in the next gen console, the Konami still have the way with its PES series, which will be still loved by many for years to come.

And that is why... after so many years of being a loyal follower of the PES Series since ISS series on Nintendo and right until PES 2014 on PS3... I am switching to FIFA 15 on PS4 before this Christmas! Alleluja brother!!!

I like your enthusiasm...however....you are not realizing what has happened over the past years.

1) Konami's PES is no longer a strong challenger to Fifa, Fifa is now outselling PES 6 to 1.
2) Button Configurations are customizable in both games...you can play PES with Fifa styles and vice versa
3)Why would you edit teams if they already have all they need ..plus daily live updates of squads, kits and transfers
4) We understand that neither games can have all the teams and clubs in the world....Japan nor Jamaica included.

There is nothing wrong with anyone here liking PES ...I am just saying that the development of the game has gone awry.

Fifa is also not a great great game of football .....but we can at least achieve the basic stuff without major annoyances. Passing, running, turning, AI intelligence ...etc are not perfect...but it is really good and playable both offline and online.

PES was a great game ...but it no longer is! Fifa isn't a great game ..but is a good game and its developers are doing a bit (although not as much as we would like) to keep the game current and exciting.

Give Fifa a try ...you just might like it.

This won't mean that you hate PES ....or its fans.

Peace
