Over rated i think...i got a cracked copy so i could try it. You can make your own server and play alone or in a network. The fighting i did not like whatsoever. And once more the character customization is ridiculously limited...It must be some kind of gaming industry conspiracy. I miss the good ol Ultima Online days...

EDIT: The graphics are tight.

Erm I started a thread about this ages ago....only it never took off. I've had it since it came out and it is excellent. I can't see how anyone can call it overrated. Just play it for a while, get past the first six or seven character levels and see how it embraces you and pulls you in for more. It's brilliant.

my brother has it and is stupidly addicted to it. I'd like to give it a try but apparently it'll only work on one PC and it seems pointless buying another copy when he already has it. Or can I install his version and use the month free trial?

I think you can do that.
Everyone I know is stupidly addicted to it too.
I will go and see one of them playing it sometime. I don't think I'll be that impressed.
Not as impressed as when playing a new patched version of WE8:LE anyways.... :)

I used to play an online game called, Tibia (see www.tibia.com for more info), but since WoW nearly everyone I know has jumped ship and began playing it. It's very much a rpg style game and it's become amazingly popular - to the extent that people pay companies to "powergame" their character.

The only thing that has put me off, is having to pay, otherwise I would be playing it without a doubt.

I could go into far more detail, but right now i'm busy. If people want more info, either pm me or say so here.

u dont really get the full effect unless u have a character to call your own, and if ur not an RPG fan, u might not be impressed, but any RPG fans, check it out you'll love it

Like any game, you need to take a break from it for awhile after playing for so long. I'm on my second such break.

You'd think that is true but some people talk about it all day non-stop, then play it at lunchtime and then keep talking about what they did, and then go home and play till 3am. Then come in to talk about what they did.
sheesh!

I just couldn't do that. During my height of playing, I did use thottbot (www.thottbot.com) to look for where I might need to go to get more experience quickly, but that was because I didn't spend all evening or all weekend playing, I'd just play for 2-3 hours here and there.

As for talking about in public, I'd feel really weird doing that.

Zyg, i didn't mean to bore you with the Details of my new Warrior ><

lol, ok, so 'some' of that applies to me, but hey i live in a town that's very boring unless your drunk or high, and frankly, i'm not rich enough to be either of those things all the time.

But yea, i think i am nearing my break, but when you are, they release expansion news! it looks awesome

Where would one find this news? I can't be bothered checking here, there and everywhere and having to read through all the BlizzCon stuff.

The only reason so many people play this is because there is no other options available. The graphics are better than games like ultima and everquest(sp) but it looks too fantastic for my taste. Its like the difference between Tolkien and Dungeons & Dragons. I'm not dissing the game in any way but i think its mostly the fact that you are playing with other people that makes it so addictive...If you played it alone which is what i did when i tried it, its not that hot. Never really got into the latest Warcraft(RTS) game anyway. I never liked how their orcs looked...They are warhammer style orcs. The Uruk-Hai are one tough act to follow.

This dude that goes to the same school with me told that he won't play this game anymore because you get so addicted to it. Seems like a really unhealthy game to me :D

i've only read a bit of blizzcon stuff, will save most of the reading for work.

Just seen your message.

@ 101st:
I've got characters at level 40, 28, 13 and 11 (last two are Horde) as I never played it as much as others but I'll need to considering the level cap is going up and the lovely Blood Elves will make things nicer. Can't see what the Alliance would have...and I hope they've put Black Paladins in..I know Shamans are close but they're more magic-based - I want a demonic warrior.

It looks a good game but I much prefer Lord of the Rings:Battle for MiddleEarth and currently awaiting for the 2nd one to be released.
