Just wondering if anyone can be bothered to get it. Wrestling games have been shit for years now.

DILKINGTON!
It will probably be just the same as the last one, which was the same as the one before and the one before and the one before etc...!!

I tend to always have a look at the games, despite never watching the shows anymore.

Apparently this year the season mode has been revamped again, which is good because the 24/7 mode last year was awful.

Apparently there's a create-a-finisher mode, a co-op storyline mode and an inferno match, to name some of the new features.

Has anyone picked this up then? I'm in no rush to buy it, but I wouldn't mind picking it up some day as from what I gather, THQ have put a lot of effort in this year.

I'm not too fussed about the features added either, I just want to know how it plays. If it still plays the same as last years game, I shan't bother.

It's pretty good, I missed last years so no idea.

The new Road to Wrestlemania is pretty good, albeit a little short. The create a finisher is epic.

I'm quite surprised at how much of the roster I still know. Nice to have both the Hardyz there.

I got it today.

It plays pretty much the same as last years. Same controls and same movement. Graphics are obviously updated and improved. Some good new features, such as; Create-a-finisher, Road-to-WrestleMania, Inferno Matches, and Hot Tags.

I only had a couple of fights, but, I got a bit bored and fed up of it, there's also a few bugs, when, fighting in a match, and there's an interference, there's a DQ straight-away, and you can continue fighting until the loading of the cut-scene is done.

I haven't played it online yet to see what the lag is like, because on previous editions of this game, I've had bad lag online.

Haven't they got rid of the fighting styles you could choose before a match? It looks better this year and compared to the shite TNA game, it could be worth a punt.

I think so, yeah.

I didn't play TNA as I heard so many bad things about it, there's no doubt that this game is worth a punt.

SWAN DIVE!
I tend to get this game every year because it comes out around my birthday but this years looks alot more promising than last years did. They seem to be making a big deal of it with the taped adverts and the promotion online.

Looking forward to the WM mode, finisher mode and the tag stuff since the TNA game lacked anything even virtually resembling a tag match. It was like a match with spectators :/

Plus there was shite kicking (if you can call it kicking) in the TNA game and I love my martial arts stuff. I'm now prepared for some CM Punk roundhouses. Love it.

Apparently you unlock a new match type after completing WM mode, dunno if its true though.

You do unlock bonuses if you successfully complete a match and the condition set for the match. For example, When you do the John Cena RTWM, when you get to the Tribute to the Troops event, you have to make your opponent tap-out, to unlock the arena.

You unlock stuff like arenas, move-sets, different attires, new match types.

You find out the conditions, when in the changing room, there'll be a note hanging up, which you can read, and it tells you when the game is loading what you need to do to unlock the bonus.

It's quite a nice feature.

The season mode is quite good too. You play through, beating wrestlers, and winning "stars" to challenge for belts, you start on one path, then get to choose your next. You unlock different matches as you go along, and have to recover and such after each match.

Yeah, I started my career earlier. I won the Intercontinental title first, and am now on the U.S championship path.

Much better than previous years.

I take it you can't go walking around backstage still.

Nope, still can't do it.

I think it's alright.

Same gameplay, but feels a little faster and you can move your player around more freely.

Only played a few matches so far. Got to say that the roster is very good. Haven't seen so many wrestlers in a Smackdown game in ages. Plus, there will be downloadable content for us to download more wrestlers, which is pretty cool.

Edit: Forgot to mention that like every recent Smackdown game, it is likely to get old pretty quick unfortunately. As good as downloadable content sounds, I don't think it'll be able to save it's life span.

Agreed on the life-span. I haven't played it much, but, it's not addictive as older versions of this game have been.

The roster size has improved over the past few editions, and this makes the game much better. Is there any news on who will be available to download? I'm guessing 360 users, will have to purchase this using MS Points?

I like the Road To WrestleMania mode a lot, as there are more than one path to each story. It's quite a nice feature to have. I've so far started the Rey & Batista story, as well as, John Cena.

One thing I think their missing from this edition is the Create-a-PPV option, which I thought was a really nice feature in the older versions.
