road to wrestlemania is good but it's not long enough, thats what the career mode should be like. thats the main part of the game for me the career mode which is probably why im a little disappointed with it, was really excited about this. i havent gone far into the career cos it seemed so poor. is it me or is it ridiculously easy too (i cant find a way of making it harder) maybe it gets good once you get into it but to start with it has no form of storyline at all, you just choose opponents, does it get any better?

oh it will get harder, to a point where everything u do is reversed which really pisses me off.

i can barely grapple the CPU and if i do it will be reversed.

Also it seems like when my players getting beaten 2 a pulp he stays on the floor and takes him time getting up but the CPU gets up double quick time.

its just choosing a match and no story line which was a big dissapointment to me. I ended up trading this game bk as i found it boring, road the wrestlemania is good but if once u complete it what can u do?? also i dont really like any of the wrestlers on that part as my fav is Orton.

ahhh who else remembers the Glory Days of WWF No Mercy ? Now that was a game

That also had a MAJOR bug that would reset everything you bought from the Shop/Areans you unlocks

New Smackdown game looks good but i can't stand the wrestling now, just something about it that doesn't appeal to me anymore :(

I don't think i'll get this now. Seeing the stupid way they've kept Royal Rumbles with the button tapping, had enough.

I've even been tempted to buy an N64 just so i can play on the classic wrestling games.

yeah i feel the same rn50, the career mode is the main thing for me and it needs to be like road to mania is but longer of course. and bishop i was thinking the same thing about the rumbles, i'd like to see them developed a bit so you can do a lot more with them. i dunno maybe different ways of eliminating people, it being harder to eliminate people, maybe let us leave the ring and come back in with weapons to introduce ..

Rented it, and it's the same old rubbish as 08 for me. They took away the GM mode as well, which was the only thing that interested me last year.

RTW is the only good thing in the game though.

I need to get a good real-fighting game soon. Smackdown last year was alrite for a few months but got bored and by reading your comments, I wont be spending 30 quid on it this year. Fight night 4 should be good while I still need to see what UFC is gonna deliver.

Right I've got this for the wii in a hope that it would be good and all I can say is Wow. If anybody remembers the WCW and WWF No Mercy for the N64 then this will be right up your alley, nothing like the shit they're releasing year in year out on the PS and Xbox.

Just no. Clearly you don't remember the AKI games at all and how good they were. No Smackdown game has ever touched them. And not just in terms of controls, but animations and just general amusement.

And Original? mate I'd give them every AKI game I have - No Mercy, Revenge, World Tour, the two Virtual Pro Wrestling games. For fuck's sake THQ let AKI make another wrestling game, the Legends of Wrestlemania would have been absolutely perfect but instead you let Yukes make every game shit.

Shut it you fucking nOOb!! My point is that the Nintendo version of the wresting game known as Smackdown isn't like the PS2/3 versions. Actually it's completely different in every way.

Just get your thumb out of your arse and play it, you'll know what I mean only then.

P.S. My memory of Akiman is fine actually.
