I would mate. Before I could even play it. Even an announcement right now would probably do me in. I've waited nigh-on 8 years for something.

Oh My...WWF No Mercy.

Those were the days.

Possibly the best wrestling game to ever exist?

i used to love when your doing a submission and the guy shouts and it sounds like you broke the limb.:chanlaugh::chanlaugh:. Classic.

Wait Here, Gone for Help
I remember my cousin making me tap out to the walls of jericho on the WCW game in under 10 seconds :(

Bad times

Me, my brother and some mates would used to play a game in Revenge, whereby you'd try and be the quickest person to get Eric Bischoff to tap out. If you recall, Bischoff was fucking shit apart from his lethal kicks. You'd run across the ring, floor him, and then lock on the submission. For ages 7 seconds was the norm, until someone broke it with 6 seconds.

IMO the game cube was rather homosexual...being purple and a cube (name of well known homosexual nightclub in Aust)

No Razor Ramon, Psycho Sid or Savage is lame. Diesel should have been in as HBK's manager at the very least too. I do hear if you own SvR as well though, you can import the majority of the roster into this game. Which is pretty canny.

I won't be buying it regardless, but from the looks of it, this is even more arcade-y than SvR, what with buttons flashing up on the screen mid-grapple.

I think this only deserves a rent tbh.

Everything looks the same, i have a feeling the managers can be annoying.

Only gonna rent it tbh, it looks good as they do. But I borrowed my cousins SvR2009 and although it was okay for the first few hours, I quickly got bored and just played around with Create-a-finisher. And im expecting this game to be the same.

Legends of Wrestlemania’s main mode sees you taking part in the some of the classic Wrestlemania matches, the example we played being Andre the Giant’s match with Hulk Hogan at WMIII. The key words in this mode are Relive, Rewrite and Redefine, giving players the option to do three things with each match; relive it, where you essentially just play out exactly what happened in the match; rewrite it, where you can alter the outcome of the match; and redefine, where you can change the match type by introducing weapons, cages and outside interference.

It’s a nice idea, and the presentation certainly builds up the atmosphere in a positive way. For the first time, the WWE has allowed footage from matches to be used by Yukes in the creation of the game, so expect pre-match hype, build-up and drama in the form of genuine footage from each match and feud. It paints the picture for people too young to remember what happened in Wrestlemania’s gone by, and serves as a nice nostalgia trip for those who watched it unfold live at the time. Sadly, after the impressive openings, things start to unfurl in the ring.

Visually the game hasn’t changed much from the recent Smackdown games, with overly pumped up character models and all the flashiness and razzmatazz you’d expect. The problems lie in the actual wrestling. In either an attempt to recreate the style of the matches back in the 80s and early 90s, or what’s perhaps just a poor design decision, there’s a stunning lack of variety in the types of moves each wrestler can perform. Striking moves are mapped to one button, and there’s a grapple move available via another and one of the four directions on the d-pad. And that’s it. Yes, there are moves for when your opponent’s grounded, or when you’re running or on the turnbuckle, but even wrestling games on the N64 had more variety than this.

If it is indeed a restriction put in place in an effort to mirror how wrestling was, you can understand why it might have been done, but the truth is that after being spoilt by numerous grapple types and context specific moves in recent wrestling games, going back to two button gameplay feels like a step backwards. The wrestling in the game has essentially been stripped down to bashing one button for some striking moves, and then seeing out some quick-time events to reverse and pulling off some limited grapples.
Given that in the Relive mode you have to adhere to certain stipulations regarding which moves you can and can’t attempt, for the sake of the match happening how it did back in the day, it feels even more limited than it would otherwise. Matches soon become repetitive and as scripted as the real thing.

Thankfully exhibition mode is on hand to provide any match type with any wrestler, although the same traits soon come through and can hinder the experience. Newer superstars such as The Rock and Stone Cold were available in this mode, so we gave them a good slobber knocker in the ring, but it still wasn’t enough to offset the limited gameplay. Legends of Wrestlemania is certainly a nice idea, and the arcade style action and nostalgic touches will appeal to wrestling fans of old, that’s for sure. Plus with online multiplayer, a sizable roster and some more modes that are yet to be revealed, there’s a chance that Legends of Wrestlemania could yet come good. At the moment though, the game feels stuck in the past and could already be out for the count when it arrives for review. We’ll let you know whether it’s a champ or a chump when it’s released next month.

Soooooo out of place IMO...

What would be great, if there could be a custom commentator option where you can add spots for a Play by Play and a Color commentary. Like insert wrestlers names "Hogan now..", generic moves "and a right hand" (even if he strikes with the left, idc because JR and King sound terrible calling a WMIII match), and more specific moves, "And the big leg on him (leg drop)". I would slice and dice Monsoon and Ventura, that'd be the greatest sounding videogame EVER. I have editing software were I could do this, it'd be time consuming, but I'd rather have it authentic than half-@ssed.

***BRAND NEW INFORMATION ON MANAGERS IN WWE LEGENDS OF WRESTLEMANIA***
(From IGN.com)
Source Link: http://uk.xbox360.ign.com/articles/955/955510p1.html

US, February 19, 2009 - Perhaps the most under-utilized aspect of the WWE experience in games thus far has been the limited role of the Superstars' managers. The generally lax adherence to the rules and guidelines of the squared circle has made for some of the most memorable moments in WrestleMania, so why not include it when culling gems from years of WWE history? We're clearly not the only ones that have wondered this aloud, as THQ and Yuke's have finally decided to give the men behind the men their chance to make a difference in WWE Legends of WrestleMania.

Bobby "The Brain" Heenan can...
Throw brass knuckles his Legend's way
Grab an opponent's leg
Move a pinned Legend's leg up onto the rope
Jimmy Hart can...
Scream into an opponent's ear with his megaphone
Brain an opponent with said megaphone
Mr. Fuji can...
Throw salt in the face of an opponent
Use his cane to hook an opponent's leg
Hook the top rope with his cane during an Irish whip, causing the opponent to fall out of the ring
Paul Bearer can...
Grab an opponent's leg
With Undertaker, his moves get more specific. He can, at times:
Give the Undertaker more power
Cause the Undertaker to rise after being knocked down
Smash a nearby opponent with his urn
While this is by no means a complete list of what the managerial talent can do, it should give you an idea of just how much influence will be allowed this time around. WWE sLegends of WrestleMania hits in just a few weeks, and of courses we'll make sure you're kept up to date on every part of the game until then.
Edit: New Images!

Despite what i posted earlier it does seem pretty cool that THQ have gone through the trouble to make manager specific abilities.

I thought i would post this just incase anybody hasn't seen it yet.

This would be the only wrestling game I'd purchase but it just sounds like a SVR but with old school wrestlers. Maybe give it a rent for nostalgia.

It'll be shit but the managerial stuff sounds great, especially the salt in the eyes from Fuji, who should be wearing his suit by the way. But why Slick isn't in it I'll never know.

The managerial stuff does sound great but there are no referees in the game so when the managers interfere in matches it's going to look stupid.

Heenan should really have the ability to hold an opponent's leg down during a pin, ala Ultimate Warrior against Rick Rude at Wrestlemania V. Say if they're about to do a move near the ropes, he can grab the leg and help his man get the pinfall.

Jimmy Hart should throw the megaphone to his wrestler to use as a weapon, which happened on numerous occasions, usually however to the benefit of the opponent. (WMV, Summerslam 1991).
