When I phoned Microsoft a few months back, they gave me a tracking number, and they said that they'll organise for UPS to come and collect it.

UPS were here within 2 days of the call, and took the console away. Had it back within 2 weeks of collection, good as new. With a 1month Live card for free.

Same, however I didn't get my console back, I got someone else's. The registration number on the back was different, and the marks I had on my Xbox had seemingly vanished and moved to other areas on the Xbox. Either way I don't mind, it's been working nicely ever since. Just wish Xbox's were a lot quieter, they sound like a fucking aeroplane.

Right i haved phoned Microsoft....they have agreed to pick the console up and repair it and all that shit. The really annoying thing now though is when i try my console, sometimes it works and then sometimes it does the red rings of death. :unsure:

The last time I had the RROD, I just noticed the power adapter was slightly loose, so I just pushed it in and restarted the Xbox.

I've tried loads of different shit, it werent workin during the last two days at all. I left it alone and tried it again and it worked and powered it on & off several times and again it was fine, then i played a dvd for about 30mins turned it off and back on and then it did the red rings of death.....so i'm guessing its fucked in some ways.

No i'm not that botherd about playing it, i just don't want to send if off and them say its fine when theres something wrong with it. Whats the towel trick?

If you switch it on and it comes on, knock it off straight away and put it back on.

When I had RROD I could put it on but as soon as I powered off and put it back on, the RROD came back.

Once you get it you'll always get it again on that xbox but after you get it repaired it should work perfectly fine.
