I'm not even gonna look at it because the box is fucked. Still raging because i'v paid for live and i aint getting it.

Just send it off mate, they'll repair it for free no problems. Last time mine died a few months ago, I sent it off and got it back within a week, with a free month Xbox Live card. Fair game really.

Yeah Microsoft are quite good when it comes to repairs for their customers, better than what I went through with Sony for my PS2. I was one of the unfortunate people to have a launch PS2 and about 60% of those were faulty and break in 3 months. I sent it back, they sent me another... it didn't even switch on, then they sent me another it switched on but didn't play games... after 5 PS2's I finally got one that worked and they gave me a free game worth 20 quid, that was ok but I feel I went through a lot more hassle than 20 quid. That's why I'm not really a fan of Sony or Playstation anymore, so all of the PS3 fanboys really get on my nerves cause I have a genuine reason for hating Sony but they still slate me for it.

Geez, that sounds well shit man, proper bad luck man.

Am I the only one who's never had a problem with any console? My 360 never had any trouble, my PS3 hasn't had any trouble...

That's because you're a lucky bastard, that's why. But in saying that, you've just played the hex on yourself so no doubt one of those consoles will break within a few weeks.

I went through about 2 PS2's I think, and I'm now onto my 3rd Xbox 360. I only ever had 1 PSOne though. Anyone else see the growing trend ? I can just picture it now, the Xbox 720 or whatever it will be called is going to break every year without fail. ;)

If i decide to send my 360 back it will be my fourth. My PS1 and PS2 had no problems what so ever......

I'd stay clear of Halo 3, I got bored of it after about 1 hours worth of play. It's shite.

It just depends what you're after in terms of genre Jonno mate, I've just got FIFA09 recently and enjoying that. Skate 2 isn't a bad game either, and Fallout 3 is worth a purchase. To be honest though, the games you've already listed will keep you well occupied for now. BioShock took me quite a while to complete, and COD4 online is nothing short of blooming addictive.

Dragonfly and myself have started a rivalry, on Pro Evo 6. Anyone else want to get like a little league thing rockin?

The orginal Chronicles of Riddick was awesome. Looking into this new one, it looks like i've got another game on the wishlist.

Oh, and hunter, i'm really interested in fallout, but i'm worried that the rpg elements may be too overbearing. How much would you say it diverges from the fps genre into the rpg genre?

In terms of what i want to play/buy good quality action/fps games are what i'm after.

Jonno this is an unfathomable betrayal, a real blow to the heart.

But Left 4 Dead looks great, its the one game I'm very jealous about. That and The Lost and the Damned.

I know it hurts mate, but I just don't see the point in spending £100 extra for something i won't use.

Buy a 360 you gash.

Crackdown is a fine game. I had more fun with that than Saints Row 2 personally.

Only buy Dead Rising if you have a HDTV, the text is unreadable on a SD set. It's still playable, but a lot of the time you'll just be following arrows rather than the story.

Fable II is canny if you like more relaxed RPGs. It's pretty much impossible to die. I wouldn't play top dollar for it though.

Mass Effect if you have the time to really get into it, playing it an hour or so every other day or whatever isn't recommended.

Condemned is a good game, but fairly dated now. I got it for a tenner and was chuffed, if you could get it for less than that, I'd definitely say you should give it a try.

Ninja Gaiden II if you want to rage. Hard game is hard.

Dead Space is supposed to be great, I'd definitely like to pick that up sometime myself.

L4D is a must buy if you can find a regular group to play with. Even if you only play an hour or so a night, you wont get bored easy.

I think Halo had a good story personally, and like L4D it has 4 player co-op, I'm sure going through the story with some chums would be a blast. Online is full of knobs though. Stick to L4D and CoD4 for your online adventures.

Definitely get the Orange Box, especially if you've never played the Half Life episodes before.

Can't really think of anything else, I mean Fallout 3 is amazing, but not for everyone. Gears I & II are great fun too.

Oh, and one last thing, rumours are circling the PS3 MIGHT get a price cut tomorrow. I don't see it myself, but it could happen. I will rage if it does, after just paying full price a month ago.

It's difficult to say with Fallout 3 because it's quite a versatile game. There are elements in the game which are RPG related definitely, having to make several choices, especially when speaking to people. However whenever I think of RPGs, I think of third-person like in WoW and whatnot. In Fallout, you have the choice of third or first-person, and in my opinion first-person looks so much better. There's a lot of combat in areas too, and that can make the game feel like a FPS to an extent. Overall, I'd say it's a healthy mix between an RPG and FPS adventure game. If you can pick it up for cheap which I'm sure will be possible now, then you may as well go for it.

Keep in mind though you'll be buying BioShock which will keep you enthralled no doubt so there's no point buying too many games at the moment. There's nothing worse than having lots of games to play, and therefore you completely neglect a couple.
