Just found out via HotUKDeals about an "offer" on regarding memberships online. Basically £1 for 1 month, but you can just keep topping up the months on your Xbox Live Gold account while just paying £1 for each month through PayPal. I've paid so far this £14 for 14 months of Xbox Live Gold onto my account, I think I'll probably add a few more just to be sure.

Then just click "I'm ready to go Gold" which will take you to your accounts page (once you log in). It will show you the £1 for 1 month offer. Just click "Next" in the bottom right corner. It will then take you to a page showing the price again finally and the new expiration date of your Gold account. Click "Confirm purchase" (but do so through PayPal as it works more securely), then job done. Then click "Done", which will then lead you to an error page - which is fine, just close the tab and then start over using the link I posted above and repeat the process, ultimately paying £1 for each added month.

Just becareful if you have your Credit Card details stored on your xbox as it changes your automatic renewal from no to yes. You can easily change it back though.

edit:

When i did it i had to keep signing in and out of xbox.com else it would say you've already done this blah blah

I hear the ordering of the months for £1 each is best to do through PayPal to avoid your bank suspecting fraudulent activity on your credit card if many £1 transactions are coming out one after the other. Hence why it should be done through PayPal.

Haha man this is awesome! My XBL was going to run out next month £24 later and now it lasts until 22/07/2013 haha :) well cheap.

edit:

I went to go on xbox.com then settings and change the auto renewal thing but it won't let me, on the xbox and on the actual website. I think they've realised and disabled it lol. If they remove my 24 month I wont be happy!

I got 2 months for £2 which wasn't too bad!


EDIT: You have to ring up the customer support people to turn off auto-renew.

Yeah, have had to ring them up to turn it off for years now mind. Nothing to worry about, as long as I ring up before 2014 I should be fine. :joel:

yeh im not too worried about the auto renewal as mine is fine till 22/07/2013 However ever since ive done it my account on xbox.com says 'Your account summary is unavailable' can't change any card details or even see which card is on the account which is strange...They've probably done it to stop me getting more than 24 months worth of XBL for £24 :joel:

Just thought I'd ask if any of you 360 users out there are having difficulty getting on Xbox Live? I'm not totally sure, but I think Xbox Live may be down completely.

The Xbox website is currently unavailable as well, so I've been browsing other sites to try and gather information about it, but obviously since there's no support from the official Xbox site, no one really knows what's happening given how recently this has happened (a few hours ago).
