Your expectations for the forthcoming patch

Not sure about everyone else but for me this patch will determine whether I continue to play PES '14. But given events of recent months I'm not overly confident in Konami's ability to rectify their own sorry mess.

What is the general consensus on this? Is there a belief that once this patch hits we'll all be enjoying one of the finest football sims ever created or are people a bit more pessimistic.

I can't ever remember a situation like this where a game has so badly needed to be fixed, and a community has been left waiting so long, so I'd be interested to hear your thoughts. Has anyone experienced something similar with a different game?

Sorry........put me down for the "pessimistic" group.

my expectations are that the game plays smoothly like PES2013 and that the game play glitches are fixed properly... too much to ask? maybe!

This patch will determine if I purchase the game or not.

Adam Bhatti says that there will be info this week.
So next week can be the patch+DLC update. Maybe 14? the same date of the release of winning eleven.

'Tis always the way with PES. I think I remember similar uproar and subsequent Konami "fixes" happening with PES 2011, although I may be mistaken.

Personally, I'm really enjoying this years PES, and although it is rife with bugs and lag, so far it's not spoiling it for me. I would rather see something done about the PATHETIC defending and goalkeeping than the lag, as that only really effects when the ball has gone out of play. Well, as far as I've noticed anyway.

But waiting this long just for a few faces and some transfers is ridiculous.

improve the shooting;
improve the manual player changing (L1);
correct keepers and defenders moments during rebounds.
online should work properly.

honestly it doesn't sound like they will fix any of the disasterous gameplay issues and only problems(PS3) They are just trying to wooooo ppl with superficial things like faces and updated rosters, which should have been done from the day the game was released. Im sorry guys but I've had enough, this is too much! Konami think their fanbase is dumb or will blindly go along with their bs forever. They're just lucky FIFA has a bland gameplay and that every game, player and team feel the same because if FIFA got it right they would put the Konami franchise out of business. Looks like I'll skip the last game of the current gen... How disapointing!

I read a very good post on another forum...which pretty much stated that Winning Eleven is coming out in November (just like our patch)... they did not release WE14 in Japan until November because in Japan PES doesn't have FIFAs competition...hence they released PES in europe & the americas way too early (rushed, unfinished game), just so they could compete with FIFA...now when the patch comes our for us - it will actually be the FULL game for WE14 ....us gamers in europe & the americas are actually they're game testers !! ...this kind of gives me hope that something could still be salvaged from this game ...if this patch doesnt fix my main issues (slowdowns in the penalty area & online lag) then i'm finished with this game ..

You are wrong. WE2014 is available in Korea, Singapure and many other asian countries but the japanese version will be released on November 14th.

I think this is a very good point which occurred to me myself when I heard WE is being released this month in Japan. I disagree Europe and the Americas were guinea pigs, it's just as you stated that they didn't want to lose out to Fifa in terms of competition in those geographical areas.

The fact of the delayed Japan release and that the game we got is obviously incomplete would suggest the patch coming will give the proper game as it should be, which will coincide with the Japan release. It just seems too much of a coincidence otherwise. Time will tell. Their biggest problem is fixing the broken PS3 version.
