It's not the same. In real life FOOTBALL, you cannot tell when there is gonna be a goal when the ball crosses the halfway line. In PES, it feels like a foregone conclusion. Just because you don't notice the scripting in PES, doesn't mean it isn't there. I just don't think the AI is clever...

I noticed you added quite a few teams to the game. Good job there, I've only just noticed that they weren't originally in the game :). Did you replace any real teams? The reason I ask this is because I noticed that most of Hapoel's players are Turkish.

You mention human creativity, but I have said for a long time that there is even scripting in multiplayer. You get those moments where every 50/50 challenge goes against you, passes don't go where you aim etc etc. Konami tries to market this as "momentum shifting".... which is basically a load...

Now THAT would be cool, but it's a big ask. You'd have to redo the city several times. For a game the size of GTA, that's a pretty huge task.

The only Mini I have is Shift. Was tempted to get Speedball though, for retro reasons.

@imothop I don't try and put every AI goal down to scripting. I don't make excuses like that. But I know when I have been scripted against. Likewise, I know when the scripting has gone in my favour, and believe me.... it does. A basic example of classic PES scripting, is when the other team...

I can't really see much wrong with that goal, but it's hard to tell. If I was actually playing it, I'd get a better understanding. I mean, it looks like you let Ronaldo down the line, but it could have been that the game prevented you from challenging him by moving your defender out of the way...

No no.... it cheats.... believe me. When you can spot a goal coming before they even cross the half way line, it's cheating.. not good play.

That would certainly be interesting, though there would be a danger of becoming "detached" from the characters. Also, the whole point of GTA is the whole "rag to riches" thing. I think that achieving this with multiple characters is a big ask. I would like to see more of the RPG-esq elements...

Sure, it'd be interesting to have it in a European city, for example. But if you have it in, say Istanbul, you'd miss out on certain staples of the GTA series. Like cultural references, cameos etc. The majority of the radio and music would have to be in Turkish to remain fairly authentic too.

The only other logical choice would be the UK.

I just hope there's more variety in the scenery, than there was in GTA IV. eg the countryside, and desert areas in San Andreas.

Uncharted 1 is good, but no. 2 is such a HUGE step up. Just think of the gulf in quality between the first Assassin's Creed and the 2nd.

I think the passing is poor. I'm playing with no assistance on, yet quite a lot of the time they don't go where I aim. I find a lot of passes (especially so called "through balls") go behind the player I'm aiming at. I also find I have little control over the power of the pass. Sometimes...

I just saw the score.... wow! I was expecting 9.0 - 9.5... but not a 10 from IGN! Can you not just hold the controller down against your knee or the desk so that the triangle button is pressing down and just keep bashing it?
