That DOES look good... wow. Only watched the first 20 or so seconds, up until the foul, as I'm currently at work, but yeah. Hopefully it plays as well as it looks.

Tech Skill, I've seen a number of FIFA 10 vids, still not overwhelmed. It plays very fluidly, which has been the big improvement in the last 2 instalments, and for that they get credit, but the game still seems to play the same way. It looks like what FIFA 09 was, an upgrade on '08, except 10 looks more similar to 09 than 09 was to 08.

But you havent seen that one right?

Like i keep saying, wait for the reviews.

Thats all im gonna say, not even gonna bother with the set peices, the skill dribbling or the manager mode, the new movement cycles, nothing.....

Lets just see.... lol.

Yeah I agree... though at the same time it's kind of like PESFan and WENB are the prawn sandwichers and PESGaming are the Ultras of the community... lol thus, you have to expect there's going to be some bickering and flaming.

Indeed, from upclose it looks quit good. Also the Seabass playing PES video looked better then the other Gamescon vids. Still hope :crymore:

Thats the thing though, up close it looks OK, but in normal/wide came it just looks ... average.

There is still hope though, we should rejoice!

And they are the shittest playtesters ever.

I would fucking playtest PES and tell those stupid fucks exactly what does and doesnt need doing.

Reviews don't mean shite, man. FIFA always gets great reviews because EA pay to advertise on those review sites. I think pretty much everyone these days has heard about the mass of resignations at Gamespot because the editor was fired for giving Kane & Lynch a bad review after Eidos spent a lot of money advertising it on the site. They're in the back pockets of the big publishers. As I said, even the worst FIFA games got great ratings, look it up and you'll find it's true. I don't judge games based on what some other guy thinks of them, I play them and then make up my mind.

This isn't to say that every FIFA game sucks, because some of the best like FIFA '98 and World Cup '98 also got good reviews and justly so, but you can't go by the reviews.

Thats the thing though, up close it looks OK, but in normal/wide came it just looks ... average.

Same with FIFA IMO. The vids I've seen show me little cardboard guys moving on a gigantic pitch...

Which is why alot of people nowadays seem to be ignoring "reviews" and going with the general sway of the message boards/forums. PES Fan & WENB are just a disgrace TBH so no-one should listen to a word they say or go on their PES-positive-or-else-you-die forums

From whom? It can't have been on any of Gamespot, IGN, etc... I've yet to see a FIFA game get anything but a universal thumbs up from the big sites. Maybe we're not thinking along the same lines, though, because I don't really look at lesser-known gaming sites.

I only know the news from what goes on here from what i gather and read WNEB and PESfan are cocks (just my opinion) they are all over the place so i dont bother with there write ups.....

i just go by konami and the video's... which look very impressive konami have done a massive overhaul of the game and dont kno why people are so negative..especially when there is still updates to impliment

i never listen to anyone else i always make up my own mind like i did with pes09.I was never going to let the hysteria and negativety of others put me off and im glad i didnt because pes09 even with its flaws is still a great piece of code that just lacks the correct level of refinement in places..

again your basing your final judgement against a finished game and a beta game that is very unfinished.

look closely at pes2010 even with the poor animation its still looks like a great play that is only going to ge better and better over the next month and konami have already confirmed that this is old code which of course is true because this demo was made months in advance.

fifas finished bud that is it and its nothing special wear as pes2010 has still got the trump card of better animations and more refinement.

Ask yourself how in 3 years he took a game that got beat like 10 years in a row by pes, and made it the recognised most advanced football game around.

TBH, the wait for the improvements thing is kind of what Konami have been giving fans for the last two years... Honestly though, I really like what I've seen thus far, minus the lack of animations and the huge discrepancy in player speed apparent in some of the vids. CPU players don't seem to use the sprint function, kind of like in old FIFA and NHL games.

If they sort those two issues, more animations and speed (and obviously the passing system, though we've been over that) I'll be a happy customer.

yea I agree and im not saying oh its gona be awesome when they put the new stuff in....im just stating that i take what WNEB etc take with a pinch of salt...the video's i have seen so far are amazing the animations look brill when in dead ball situations..

for me it looks much more like the full game we need...and how someone could say its on the right path but better luck next time is beyond me!

Even you can't deny that a lot of it is PR... and funnily enough, on both football forums (not strictly gaming forums, general football talk) I go to, everyone gave it absolutely glowing reviews when they first got it, which everyone does when they get any edition of FIFA. BUT, by a few months later, everyone on the site who had bought FIFA was complaining about, among other things, the ball with a magnet to the moon, the crusty player likenesses, the defence's speed cheats to make up for the poor AI, the ease in which one can score by running down the wing and cutting in at the 18, etc. Which is totally in keeping with my personal experiences with FIFA over the years, it gets worse as you play it. With ISS and PES, however, strangely it's always the opposite way with me. I hate it at first and slowly I grow to understand the game and start to love it. I still play International Superstar Soccer 64 and compared to the FIFA games of the day it's fantastic. I thought it was awful at first because it wasn't fluid like the FIFA games of the day, but it has a lot going for it and it doesn't get old. FIFA '98 was great for its time but got tiresome quickly.

I'll play the demo and give FIFA '10 a fair chance, because when it comes to games I try to be as objective as possible and only go upon what I actually know, as opposed to hype and/or reputation, but I'm not convinced it's going to blow PES out of the water based upon what I've seen so far.
