It looks awesome and all, but does no-one else think the transition from 'Gangster' to 'Gangsta' makes the game lose some of it's appeal?
I mean, it's like gone from Scarface to Tupac. While I'm sure it'll still be a good game, I think it loses some the class that came with previous GTAs. I haven't played it, but the stereotype for the type of characters in the game (carefully stepping around the racial issue) is that the crime is not as 'organized' and rather just overblown gang wars.
Should still be a great game though, but does anyone else share these concerns?
then why can i play the game? i'm not over 18 but i can play the gameTravis Bickle said:*over 18's only, but of course noone under 18 is allowed to play the game.
express said:I see that you are trying to "carefully step around the race issue" but you went and stamped right in it by even mentioning it. I don't think it was intentional on your part, but it's all good. I think the 'race issue' is quite comical. The way he starts out as saying "Yeah my brother" with his skinny vest and his bad haircut, and then as soon as you do some shopping, tatting, gangbanging and get a girlfriend he's like, "Bitch, Fuck you Nigga!" hahaha. I think Rockstar (like all their games- yes including Manturd) made this game with a huge element of ironical humor. I don't think the "class" or "glamour" levels have suffered by to me (as a huge fan of gangster movies), the last installment was corny as hell. It was like a weak Scarface and it was sooo predictable there was going to be a huge "Say 'ello to my lil friends" showdown from the top of a balcony at the end. I actually think this game is a lot classier. Take the first one, that was better than the second, this is similar to the first, but it's more hood and that gay justin timberlake looking fella isn't the main character anymore. You need to get on your game, get iced out, get a lowrider or a pitbull that bounces down the street, get some gangsta threads and cover yourself in tattoos and you'll see a different kind of class. Ghetto Fabulous. Class is relative, and the last GTA was full of eighties pop music and hawaiian shirts. Nuff said.

The tank top wearing, cornrow sporting, AK47 wielding hoodlums that this game features are stereotypically uneducated and any rivalries tend to be ridiculously overblown gang wars.
I haven't played it yet, but I think I prefer the classier image of working for real mobsters out of their mansions and boats, rather than some hoodlum out of his shitty gaff out in some police-deprived neighbourhood which he shares with his mother, stepfather and 8 stepbrothers and sisters. It just seems more professional and organized and overall more fun.
I wasn't a huge fan of the hawaiian shirts or eighties pop in Vice City, but I think I'll prefer the overall gameplay and storyline of Vice City. I'm sure I'll still enjoy San Andreas, but I'd rather I was playing as some stylish mob soldier working his way up the chain, or something like that, rather than some Harlem living, drive by shooting, Fubu sporting hoodlum!
The most agreeable post ever, in the history of PESInsight.Travis Bickle said:It depends what you want. If you want a superior game in every department you'll love San Andreas its got better music, missions, graphics, side/mini games ( I was doing a "dancing game" style mission before ), theres a better feel to the cities they're alot bigger and alot more alive, theres gamblin', robbing houses, you can SKY DIVE, I think its alot better than Vice City. But if you're the sort of person that gets pissed off watchin' "Boyz in da Hood" and don't think its actually an alright film, you may not like the game, I think the "gangbangin'" is better for the game than the over-the-top "aah forget about it" American-Italian-wop-spaghetti-eatin-greasy gangster crap.

I passed the mission by keeping ahead of the train throughout, making sure i do not go too far ahead as then you fail the mission again, then went up that ridge where Big Joke says take the high road on the right CJ, i then went near to the end of the ridge got off the bike, and killed all the bastards myself with a machine gun. Then take the fat prick back home to munch some more donuts.
