Guide to Making your PES3 DVD into a CD for patching

Can somebody help me with the sles.519.12 File.
When I run dvd scan and put the SLES.519.12 file into it it says 'Illegal file type'
Can somebody tell me why this is happening and how I overcome this. If I have to open Sles.519.12 first what do I open it with? as it asks me what file to open it with?
This is the only area of patching I have a problem with if somebody could help me then I will finally have a patched game.

Have you extracted FLASH-PES3++RETAIL++CFN.rar?
Make sure you extract it into the same folder as the contents of bin file.
In this folder double left mouse click on 'Attributes.exe' then in pop up click on set attributes.
This should sort it out!

the 8.1.04 is not in that ftp site??? where can i get that from and do i apply it to 5.1.04 or a fresh copy of the game????
Still having trouble with dvdscan2, when trying to scan my sles. 519.12 file.

Put in the one the guide says.
I have done many a time, doesn't seem to work. Do you (or anybody else) have any other suggestions.
I really want to patch this game and if I can't dvdscan2 it then it won't work.
Is there another way to patch other than to scan the SLES file?
If not, is it possible to download a SLES file that has already been scanned by someone?
Please give me suggestions, as I need to patch this game, it has become an obsession, It is driving me crazy!

This is an impassioned plea....
I am a simple man, I ask for very little in life, I do not crave fast cars and loose women, designer clothes or huge mansions, all I want in life is a comfy bed, home cooked food and Pro Evolution Soccer 3 playable to it's full potential.
However this, it seems, is where life has chosen to play a mean trick on me, as for the last 3 months I have toiled and tried, questioned and tried again, wasted 10 or more disks (not all mine), followed the guides on this here forum implicitly. Yet no matter what I do, a fully patched version of the greatest football game ever is beyond my grasp, it appears.
I am on the precipice of abandonment, I may well give up forever and have to resort to FIFA 2004 for my fix of football, as I can no longer bring myself to play PES3 unpatched, because I know there is so much I am missing out on, it would be like playing Championship Manager 2001 -02 instead of 03-04.
Please someone, anyone, shed some light on the darkness that is my misery.
My problem is well documented, up to stage 16 of Jonboyo's guide my files are patched and checked, however once I apply the patches (JB's 1.12.03 and 1.12.03 - 8.1.04 upgrade) the game becomes errored, so I scan with cdmage as per the guide, however, although it recognizes all the errors, it will not repair or rebuild, regardless of what I do.
Tipping my hat to Larsson, I tried it with ECCRegen, however, that doesn't work either. all I get is a blank screen after the PS2 logo.
To say I am at my wits end would be an understatement. My football fix is long overdue, as an addict, I have to say cold turkey is not nice.
So please someone, help me feed my habit.

I saved the image at each stage, so I have a ripped copy of the game with nothing at all done to it, as well as a copy of the game with everything up to stage 16 of the guide complete.
Incidently, when I overpatched the game before christmas, using the same method but I put 2 conflicting patches on it, it worked up to the title screen (euro 2004) then froze.
I used the same clean image to attach the 01.12.03 patch to, but the error scan on cdmage won't repair or rebuild the majority of the errors.

No, I've not tried that, I'll give it a go.
The problem I've got is that the only access I've got to the t'internet and computers with the performance to do the job required is at work. It's not even my machine that I do it on, I have to harrass some other poor guy with a cd writer in order to get it done, hence the long time between posts and tests.
He's beginning to get a bit pissed off.
