The point still stands that the bad points of pes definetly out weigh the bad points of fifa no matter what they are. Im just interested to know wether people who converted to fifa are looking more forward to fifa 2010or pes 2010. Personally im definetly, for the first time in years, going to buy Fifa out right on the day of release and Pes is gonna have to get some decent reviews coupled with a mind blowing demo for me to bother with it.
Imo fifa just needs to improve long range shooting, reaction times and player faces/detail and maybe a better MM to make it a legendary game in my books. Up there with cod4 and san andreas etc.
Pes will be like trying to repair the titanic. Theres a rediculous amount of stuff they need to do just to get on par with Fifa08/09 let alone come anywhere near fifa 2010. The game needs AN ABSOLUTE REHAUL in every aspect of everything in the game that is pes. They may make a good game but its just not gonna compare next season. Having said all that, if they brought back Memorial match then i would probably buy it as it was the mode that made playing ML actualy worth while.
Amateur: I play both.. And it is very simple. Fifa is better in every part, but the most important (FAST RESPONSE IN PENALTY BOX, DIFFERENT GOAL CHANCES, ATMOSPHERE OF THE MATCH ) are the clear advantages of the PES.. That is my opinion, and have to say, that i am not trying to say that PES or FIFA is better.. I just prefare PES, but understnand if someone prefare FIFA, couse there is so much other staff..
Amatuer Dont listen to this guy, he doesnt even know what pace control is, he doesnt play it for real.
Seriously, This aint the crusades, we havent come here to convert people, we were hardcore PES gamers that just got sick of being ignored year and robbed of our cash for the same game every year with a different front cover and a few other meaningless differences.
Thats why im so annoyed at PES, i NEVER wanted to play fifa, i went back to PES6 last year rather than play Fifa 08 (cos i was a fanboy) because i decided to give PES another chance. But Pes 2009 it just the last straw, its so clear the game is on the decline.
Play both properly, you'll probably hate fifa in the beggining, but my advice to you, is to start on professional difficulty, and make sure passing is set to semi or manual (i use semi) and just start off like that, then move up to world class and start taking more and more options off assisted and try semi (like im doing, but i do have through balls on assisted), see how much you enjoy it. It needs time, Im quite decent at the moment, i promise you a month or two ago i never thought id be any good at the game, then just like the PES of old, it just clicks in once you give it the time.
If you really wanna know how good it is, buy it and play.
Oh, and i have the speed on slow, cos that mimics the technical football pace of serie a and la liga and those are the only leagues i tend to bother with in football games.
PS. fifa in the penalty area is far superior to pro, start on assisted if you want, thats when the cpu directs the shots on goal for you. A few morons like to play assisted shooting on Semi pro difficulty and claim the game is easy, of course it is, semi pro aint shit. Minimum is professional, then if you find shooting easy, take it off assisted and try semi or manual ( i use semi), different ball game then.
But seriously, there are far more way to finish a chance and take a penalties in fifa, and the heading system is better, it requires actual timing, depending on the position you are in.
I just did a 64 team knock out tournament with Liverpool and i got really 'emotionaly involved' in the matches. After my first game i lost torres for 3 matches with an injury. After 2 games i lost Kuyt for 2 matches. Fantastic. You can imagine how bothersome that became. I had it on world class and i found without a stike force i was hanging on in every game and really stressed about wether i was gonna be knocked out. Lets just say playing Reira and Gerrard upfront doesnt exactly set the World alight. Every game i played i stuggled for chances yet at the same time the comp was getting horrendously close to scoring with goal line clearences and the post keeping teams at bay. I have it on auto save so im screwed if i loose. The appitimy of my performances was highlighted in a game against Portsmouth where i had 5 shots all game and scored in the 120th minute with Babel. Half volley from Rirea's cross, back post. That was only the quater final but i had stepped up a gear from only having 1 shot a game to more than 4.
I was laughing as i shrugged off Arsenal 3-1 in the semi but my laughter was short lived as i found myself up against the World 11 in the final of all finals. ? I couldnt believe they were even in it as i randomised the teams so they chose the teams out of leagues but they were there and a shat myself. 50 gamer points were riding on this match by the way along with 2:30 mins of blood, sweat and tears. I struggled against the likes of Hertha Berlin so confidence was not exactly at an all time high when i found myself up against Totti, Lampard, Terry and Ibrahim to name but a few. Twas 1-1 after 120 mins thank god, with many chances created by both teams and a Red card by Skrtel put me on 10 men for 60 mins. Bastard ref. But for the 4th time in the tournament i found myself dredding the penalty shootout. Luckily Reina is a god at penalties. It went to sudden death though where i won on the 4th penalty and i went slight crazy for about 6 seconds. I was so happy but that was short lived when i watched the celebration ceromony which lasted all of 2.5 seconds and consisted of the players jumping up and down minus the trophy i worked so hard for. All in all i found it an enfatic experiance which had numerous moments where i could barely watch the tv and it kept the adreniline pumping in all the games Mostly due to the other team hitting the post or something and missing open goals.
You just dont get that imersed in pes these days.
yeah, u really cant try to play it like playing pes...the thing about response is its all about timing of when you turn or do somthing. in the beginning you will think its a little sluggish (and its not perfect and can improve) the dynamics of WHEN you turn is about the timing, you cant just turn if the ball is not at your feet!!!! EA really wanted to try and make the ball a separate entity... the players move like humans and not robots you need to think that way too, you need to think faster in tight situations, before or just as the ball gets to you just like real life..!!! you really need to understand how to defend, theres more work and you need to focus more on their positions..oh and you have to create your own goal chances.!!
once it clicks and you start to play good football at a good level, if you really love real life football you cant not appreciate how good it is and how things are changing, next gen is here and if you want to keep with the times you need to get with the movement..!!!
Start fresh, re-think how you play, forget alot of what you would do with your hands in pes, try and get inside how you would think when you play real life football and open your mind.......!!!
lol, im so happy that fifa clicked, i'm dancing and singing to the music between games and smiling my arse off, its so satisfying..
"take only what you need from it, a family of ?trees? from it" lol thats what i am singing anyway, not sure if thats the right words...please feel free to correct me...
:edit: yup, having a little half time boogy now infact..
:edit: damn i just got injured in the 2nd min of the 2nd half
Real edge of your seat stuff, leaning forward, gasping back, jumping up, nooooooo, fucking up, getting annoyed with yourself, aplauding your opponents, digging in, holding on, finding somthing special, peeing your pants, creating the spectacular and losing with pride..passion, its fucking great..!!

I tried manual passing and out of roughly 50 passes about 5 actually went to the man i was aiming at and i was playing Accrington Stanley on Amature. I just suck at manual passing and dont get it. The amount of 1 on 1s i missed by a mile was also a joke. Out of roughly 15 1 on 1s i scored 1.

Practice makes perfect mate. Once you get manual down you will enter a whole new realm of brilliance in Fifa, mark my words. It's ridiculous.
