Previoulsy I would have agreed with this but I was playing with arsenal the other day and had a cracking game. I posted this on pesfan.
I was messing around with Manager Mode with Arsenal last night
Anyway, had two cracking games. The first one was the 2nd game of the season vs. Chelsea at home. They went up 1-0, i tied it 1-1. they brough on Drogba as sub around the 65th minute and a few minutes later I had a bad clearance and he scored to make it 2-1. Late in the game i work the ball to Cesc and he lets one go from the top of the 18 that flys into the top corner. I was going crazy finished 2-2.
I've heard plenty of examples like this, and it sounds like you guys are having a good time.
But I'm just saying that Dribbling and Accelerating are still too watered down in both FIFA09 and PES09.
In PES09 it doesn't even feels like dribbling, it feels more like running. As in real life, if you go against a player at full speed you are easier to defend against. You cannot do much if your going at full speed. The idea is to slow down, dribble, work your angle, and then sprint out.
In FIFA09 I think it is a bit too tactical, too slow, not enough acceleration after it.
I think the Pace seems to be pretty accurate in both games, but the Acceleration is still lacking plenty of depth IMO.
If you watch some videos of Romario, Johan Cruijff, Leo Messi, George Best, Pele.. You'll see what I mean. Players with good acceleration are a lot faster in that final third. Which is why timing is so important when finishing.
Judging by PES09, I still feel too much Time and Space when Finishing, But not enough Control nor Acceleration.
Plus, PES is still lacking plenty of "Finishing Animations" or "Penalty Area Animations". Some controls should have different functions when Inside the Penalty Area.
Having the same Animations and Controls in every Position, and for every player, seems very out of date IMO.
