That's fair enough as I probably will agree with you guys on most points Once I get to know FIFA09.

I'm just saying that this is starting to sound like a FIFA09 thread.. but if you think it will help.

Trigglebeef does elaborates a lot about FIFA09, but as soon as one asks for a simple favor such as "can you post all the Stats and Special Abilities in FIFA09??" He doesn't even bothers with it. Which gives me the impression that he only likes to talk about FIFA and criticize PES.

He's a sick fuck who plays on world class with everything on manual.

Ive said this before, FIFA 09 is far from perfect, there are plenty of dumb things that needs changing, such as the weather situation, goalscoring charts, not being able to look at players unless you are in the transfer window, quite a few dumb things. I myself wanna see the stats mean more in terms of passing, but maybe on manual it makes more a difference. I feel that even crap players can pull off some great passes, but then again, what i will say for fifa is that some of the players play like they do in real life.

Example, I play with AC Milan, and Pirlo, Kaka and Ronaldinho play like they do in real life to me, aka pirlo is good at turning in tight spaces and finding a pass, Kaka does those lanky forward runs and ronaldinho does the cheeky playmaking.

There are plenty of things that need tweaking in FIFA, i promise you this tho, its groundbreaking in terms of gameplay imo, reminds me of when ISS PRO came out on PSX.

Thats my opinion, I dont want PES to go under cos I have spent most of my adolescent life playing it.

And for the record, I only got FIFA on ps2 as a get me by until pes 2009 came out, even that was good, reminded me of pes of old, knew right there are then FIFA has made serious improvement, then got pes 2009, on ps2 and xbox, game was shite, went back and traded it in for FIFA 09 (Which people were telling me was better from day1), game over, never thought about playing pes again.

1)Change the button config to mimic PES, I have done this incase PES 2010 is a miracle, then i can just cross back over without worrying about the buttons.

2) Start with Passing and Shooting on Semi, Im a recluse and love playing manager mode, I live with my gorgeous blonde haired, blue eyed woman, so I aint got time to go online and master manual yet. Once you do that then talk to trigglebeef and Muzza, they are the manual crew, sick fucks, thats a real challenge.

3) Change camera angle, i have mine like classic wide on PES.

4) Most people dont do this, but i set speed to slow, cos it tends to mimic the more technical leagues like serie a and la liga, but its up to you.

5) You must do the custom tactics, espeically if you play manager mode, they do make a difference, espeically if you wanna play a passing game, it dictates space between players and player movement etc.

At least try these things if you haven't already, and start on professional, when thats easy, world class. The test to see if you can handle world class is Inter away from home, if you can handle that, your ready for the big time.

If you dont like it, play pes 2009 by all means.

PES 2009 is just PES 2008 with new kits, same old 8 directions and horrible passing.

PES6 is the way to go if you have to play PES on ps2, still plays a cracking game of football when you consider its years old.

I won't waste my time arguing WHY it is exactly that I think its out of date, because I'm sure you'll see it differently no matter what. At times you and "trigglebeef" sound like EA representatives.

And I don't mean to come off as offensive or anything, because I really do appreciate the suggestions you guys give about FIFA09. But must say that you guys are starting to sound like EA representatives.

FIFA09 is good, but it isn't as great as you seem to suggest. It isn't as responsive nor as addictive as PES6 or PES5.

I can understand that in Your opinion FIFA09 is all that.. But you must respect that not everyone haves the same taste in games. I will give a serious try to FIFA, but I have played it a few times and I just don't see that grandness you guys talk about.

Perhaps I'll change my mind once I get to know FIFA09.

Yeah it seems like PES and FIFA have switched places.. Back in the PS2 PES was the game with the better movements and gameplay. Now it seems FIFA is the better one.

I won't comment on FIFA09 again, at least not until I give it a good try, which I haven't.

But as things stand PES6 and PES5 remain the best Football Sims I've played. Hopefully FIFA09 joins those two.

yeah man, pes5-6 rocked, great days but the're over now(retro soon)...the thing is games need to evolve just like the humans that play them do...do you think that young kids now would be ok with playing sensible soccer, no its too basic..Evolution happens in stages and pes is stuck in the last stage while fifa has moved forward/with the times...

The thing about football games is that people will always compare them to REAL life, thats just it, gaming as a whole has entered a time where alot more games need to take even more from/represent more REAL life or even the imagination of what life could be...thats the fundimental difference between sims and arcade games...arcade games can lean more toward the fantasy of a game..!

im not saying pes is a full on acarde game, far from it, it justs leaning more toward the fantasy of football...

I think its obvious pes is no good these days when the most popular thread on the site is the "I dont like PES" thread.

On a scale of 1-10 the amount of work fif have to do to get the ball rolling is about 3-4/10. Pes is more like 9-10/10. Unless pes blows people away next year they'll loose sales like muffins at a fat fighters buffet and then the series will not have money to develop the game nor the fans to play it.

The thing that kept fifa going all these years whilst they were behind pes was the fact kids and noobs flocked to its licenses etc. Pes cant attracked noobs or kids or any1 else if its behind fifa and then like a snowball effect all these little things will become the end of pes. Its really next year or nothing for pes. They cant take yet another bad year, Japan being in the worst recession in the World atm. Like i said fifa always had licenses and plesent asthetics to attacked people when its was way behind pes. Pes doesnt have anything and will slowly or possibly quickly die. All Pes has are the fans they've got now. They'll have to work hard just to get back the 'faithful' they've lost. 1 things for sure though, it wont be better than Fifa next year.

Nah, thats not the case.

This whole "FIFA is easy" thing is a myth imo, the AI is far clever in terms of marking space, making runs, and compacting the midfield.

In PES the CPU does most of the stuff for you, you dont have to properly weight passes and through balls and all the AI does is rush at you full speed, whether its attack or defense.

How can that be harder than FIFA 09 in which you weight each pass according to player difference, plus add direction.

Put Shooting, passing and crossing on manual, then come back and tell me fifa is easy. lol.

Pick which every one you like, but i would say dont be ignorant, i was.

I walked into my local game store and told the manager fifa 09 was shit and i was embarrassed for getting it (fanboy mentality), he rightly looked at me like an idiot and told me to give the game a good go, then judge.

A few points about FIFA 09 in comparision to PES 2009

Real passing, game wants to you to learn to weight a pass as well as direct it, this makes possession an actual skill, especially in an away game where the midfield is compact. During a game of fifa to link a move to together you will have a weight each ball differently according to player distance, as well as direct it.
-Superior AI, computer plays off shoulder off last defender and times off side trap, they will mark space to strangle you out of possession rather than simply running full speed at whoever has the ball.
-Shooting, fifa's finishing is far more advanced, far more shooting animations and ways to finish with both feet.
-360 degree movement (nearly) "What's this, i can move a player, pass and move in more than 8 directions?"
-Heading, Do i even need to go here, its well knowing fifa heading system is far superior.
-Defending, more ways to defend including jossling players off the ball and calling other defenders for help, plus tacking actually works against players like Messi and Ibra, they dont just go though you as if your not there
-Better collision dectection, 50/50's are won properly, they dont automatically go back to the CPU, and the CPU players dont fall over then miraculously get up in a nano-second to retrive the ball like on pes.
-Better graphics, though pes 2009 has better faces than fifa hands down
-Manager Mode, "Whats this, i can change teams mid-career and talk to the press, plus use REAL money"
-PK's, you have full control of placement, its has a power bar, you can even chip the keeper from PK's
-Far more comprehensive Stats on player improvement, goals, and track record in the manager mode.

Thats what I found, and thats my opinion.
