i strongly believe that pes 09 will be a major dissapointment

The thing is that PES 2008 wasn't a finished game, it plays like a demo, Seabass said that the game was no good before the release date, and we still bought the game, i just don't think that people would have prefer that there was no game for the 2008.

Now, for the 2009, is going to be like PES 2008 but without errors, better graphics, more animations, better ball physics, a few new modes, so, this game will be good, really good, because they have an extra year to work on it, it's going to be a game for the PES fans, and i believe for what i have read that the people who have play the demo (not Leipzig, that was like 50% complete), i'm talking about the one The Boss and WENB guys play tested, this will be one of the top three games of the PES franchise, maybe just behind PES 5 but better than PES 6, and Fifa Fans, don't hate us for having such a great game in 2009.

Pes doesnt need 'a new engine'. What are its problems? Not alot of annimation and only 8 way movement. Maybe you say stats but their perfectly fine and cover EVERYTHING whether you notice it or not. Im sure they can do those things without having to build a new engine

At what point did i even imply that i liked the pes trailor. All i said was COMPARED to pes's it was crap. Which it was. Pes's trailor was alright. Could of been better but who gives a crap about a trailor when we were like a week or w/e from gameplay vids. Konami obviously realised a trailor wasnt go to make or brake this game.

face it, the pes trailer was pants , fifa 09 trailer wasnt very good but my god the pes one was boring beyond belief.

lol if youre happy with a modifield current gen game, then its up to you because that is what pro evo 09 will be. The fact you want pes to play like pes 5 shows that you know that pes has gone downhill. PES 5 is how old? Shouldnt you be hoping that pro evo 09 plays like a true next gen game. I agree pes 5 was a great game but pes has never really become a next gen game. Players move even more squarely, and the ball physics are so unrealistic.

Fifa 09 is now the ultimate football game.

pes at this time can only beat sensible soccer. Becouse it is arcade like that

there is nothing similar with FIFA. Becouse there is no other SIM football game

Pes 09 is not arcade. Actually I can't understand how you can call it arcade without even playinfg it. Seeing the video the balance between attack and defense seems like Pes 5 and sometimes 6. That's a good thing not a bad one. Maybe you meant 08. Yes that was arcde and I didn't like it that much. Pes 09 based on the videos seems 10* better than 08. The animations are improved, the speed reduced, attack and defense are back to pes 5 (can't better pes 5 because that was perfect).

You know I've probably played Fifa more than you as I was part of the testing team for 05 and 06 and you are talking out of your arse, but then Fanboys of any description usually do, I entered over a thousand bugs into Test Track Pro and EA Devtrack and only about half of those were fixed! oh and I could get a hold of one of the EA Fifa developers dressed as Ali G... so yeah, really professional and committed to their so called SIM ;)

I have to agree with you that Konami have failed to make the step up to next gen for PES, and I reckon that PES 09 will be nothing more than a slight modification of the piece of pants that was PES 08 (I opted to play the PS2 version).

As a die hard PES fan it is hard for me to say this but Fifa looks like it may have stolen the crown off of PES. I have not been impressed with what I have seen of PES 09 so far. I'm gearing up to spend another year of PES on PS2.

why are you even talking about FIFA 05 and 06? That is where the flaw in your argument comes in. Fifa 08 cannot be compared to past fifas because it is a completely different game. Pre fifa 08 fifas were shite!! I know!!! But fifa 08, IF YOU HAVE PLAYED IT on PS3, is good, not perfect but 8/10. PES 08 was rubbish, 5/10. PES5 was very good at its time, 9/10. But fifa 09 on ps3/xbox 360 will be 10/10.

It just can't be better than pes 5 considering the consoles. Pes 5 was just perfect for a ps2. Well maybe the shooting needed some tweaks and improvements.

Problem is.. this is the PS3 and we should be having better games.

Although I agree, PES5 was a massive accomplishment considering it was a PS2 game. But Konami should get past it because PES5 is still Old Gen.

Maybe Implement a couple of New Stats that can establish further Differences in the Gameplay, Improve the "Momentum Shifts" in the Gameplay (having a Reason behind every Action Involving the AI), etc, etc..

PES5 was class, but it can Improve a LOT..

That said, I wouldn't mind playing a PES5 with great Graphics.. I just hope I don't find myself playing PES5 by 2010.
