Hi i was thinking about buying we7 as i cannot stand the wait for pes3 but i am not sure if it will work.I have a modchip but i am not sure what version it is it plays ps1 games automatically but to play ps2 backups i need to use an action replay version 2 also i have only played backups for games as red faction 2 and klonoa 2.

It would be VERY useful if you would share with us the name of the chip you are using so we can try to figure it out. Cheers! :)

Sorry do not know what type of chip it is as at the time i did not ask as i only thought there was one type the only info i can give is that it does not automatically play ps2 backups but surely since it can with an AR2 iit does not matter what game it is.Jag it was soldered in i know that for sure.Aha i have a Neo 2.2 sorry just found out will it work?

yeah it should work. if it works with a slide card it should work with your chip.

I don't understand how you can have a modchip and not know what it is.
Didn't you care what you were paying for? Can't you find out from the place you got it done?

If you are new to PES or the world of patching... Please read through this thread before posting. Hopefully it will explain some simple questions.

<b>What is an X-Port?</a>

An X-Port is used to transfer saved game data from your memory to PC, and vice-versa. This allows you to download PES option files from the internet and use on your games. An X-Port does not enable you to play patched games!

<b>What do you need to play patched copies of WE6FE?</b>

1. A copy of the game
2. The appropriate patch
3. Patching tools
4. Most importantly, you need to have a modified PS2. This can include putting a mod-chip in or getting a flip top lid from ps2case.com

this may sound like a stupid question but i honestly dnt know, where u get an x-port from

I'm consider buying WE7 instead of PES3 because of the patching thing, but I have some questions... I'm a newbie of this!

I live in Sweden, where do you guys recomend me to buy WE7?
Is PlayAsia.com the cheapest place?

To play patched games you will need:
1. A copy of the game
Ok, so if I import WE7 do I only need to make a copy of my game with my CD-burner on the computer?

My Playstation is not patched so I wonder how much I will have to pay??
The game (including shipping cost)
The modification of my PS2, I haven't done that yet.

At last, thanks for a great forum!

Thanks!
Ok, I hope I got this rigth.

With X-port I can get the real player names and team names by transfering an option file that I download from the web to my computer. Do I also use an option file to get updated player transfers?

Patches are used for getting the game in English, changing team kits, grapichs and audio effects. What will be the basic patches, that most people will use? What do they do? Will there be a place on this forum where I easily can find the most important and neccesary patches?

I read something about the Slide Card, but I can't understand how I shall use it when I get it!

Allright, I'm about to order the following things now:
--> X-port
--> Slide Card
--> WE7

Anything else I will need??? I have heard something about the RGB-cable, where do I get that? I will get alot of packages soon!

Thank you for helping me out! :)

Freddie, you've got it all correct there! Nice one.

Most of the option files will definitely include transfers as well as corrected formations and lineups.
Downloaded option files include everything that is editable in the game.

You can check out what was on the past patches for WE6:FE in the editing section:
http://forum.pesinsight.com/showthread.php?t=1366
Check out some of the links to the patches to see what they include. You can find out a lot from the pics.

Patches can include what you mentioned as well as real advertising boards (Ford, Coke, Playstation, Amstel, McDonalds etc) and new designs for balls and menus.
Since WE7 just came out, there aren't many patches available yet but when they do, you can expect the wedoit group to make some similar to the WE6:FE wedoit ones which are great (a little bit of Michelle Branch excepted... ;) ).

You will probably need a new cable to play foreign games. The one the PS2 comes with definitely doesn't work - it shows games in black & white.
There is a great cable available at
http://www.thebarras.co.uk/shop.htm
second item down.

Jag will advise you about the Slide Card as he is "Da Sliding Man".
But the rest of your list is correct and you will be sorted to play the game soon.

Keep checking the Editing section for the latest news on patches.
