yea everyones stats improves/drops according to what the magazine says
In that case, im not so worried about the stats being default when you start the master league. It's actually a good idea in that case because you could improve Zidane by 5 for each stat and then he'd improve even more in the ML, if this wasnt implemented. Nice One i say!

Thanks for clearing it all up. I thought i was going to cry. *sniff sniff*

lol. no probz mate. but i hope it wont be a hassle improving their skills in training method. cant wait to play. much new stuff added besides playin matches. its good that training is taken more seriously during ML coz thats another real life act. i hope they dont get injured due to over-training though :p

P.S. hey ive got -17.0 points! how come? lol

I think it's gonna be a really good implementation in the ML cos it'll create a kind of reality within a game because everyone can be good not just those who are good in real life at the moment when they develop the game. You should definitely be able to turn it off though.

I thought he said that classic players were only unavailable in the master league?

It certainly would be a shame if they were scrapped altogether

wow. just got back off holiday to find out there are fully licenced leagues in we8. the idea of stat development in ML seems like a good idea.

The retirement system is bad news. Its a bit stupid having the same old players regenerate, so theres nothing fresh about the youth players. I hope we can turn retirement off. Also Konami have decided to stick with the same ML format which was poor in PES3. And it sounds like there will be a WE shop again, which i hated. All of the things you can buy should be available from the start, like the transfer and team tactics edit. These should be default features of any football game and should not have to be unlocked. Its seems all the simple things are made difficult with Konami.

In future i would like to see WE and PES developed seperately. What i mean is the game-engine should be the same for both, but then the games are developed further by seperate groups in Japan and Europe. This would mean that WE could be tailored to the Asian market, and a European influence could be put on PES (ie proper leagues and more attention to the details that the Japanese don't seem to grasp). I think Europeans would get a better game this way, as Europeans would help finish the game to our taste.

P.S.
I would really like to protest and not buy this game, but i know there is nothing else that is as good in the gameplay department.

Damn, i'm weak.

Maybe interesting, from Gamespot, In the second last paragraph someting exciting (and Konami of Europe is confident that further deals with other clubs will follow in the near future.)

Licensed teams for Pro Evolution Soccer 4

Konami of Europe confirms Dutch, Spanish, and Italian league licenses for its upcoming soccer game. New screens inside.

Konami of Europe today confirmed that it has acquired Dutch, Spanish, and Italian league licenses for Pro Evolution Soccer 4. With the licenses in place, Pro Evolution Soccer 4 will become the first title in the popular soccer series to feature teams wearing their official uniforms, complete with sponsor logos and suchlike.

The licenses announced today apply to 56 of the game's 136 club sides, including the likes of Ajax, PSV Eindhoven, Feyenoord, Real Madrid, Barcelona, Deportivo, Milan, Juventus, and Parma. In addition to club teams, Pro Evolution Soccer will feature more than 50 national sides.

"We are delighted to add three officially licensed leagues to Pro Evolution Soccer 4," said Martin Schneider, director of marketing at Konami of Europe. "Fans of the game have long called for us to implement their favorite teams in their favorite game, and this marks a major step forward in our quest to deliver the most authentic football title around. Adding all clubs from the Dutch, Spanish, and Italian leagues confirms that we are committed to adding more and more authenticity to the series, and Konami of Europe is confident that further deals with other clubs will follow in the near future."

Pro Evolution Soccer 4 is scheduled for release on the PlayStation 2, Xbox, and PC in Europe toward the end of this year. We'll bring you more information on the game as soon as it becomes available.

Hopefully we will see a few more licensed clubs in time for PES4 then.

Whoever said that the Japanese and koreans or "yellow skinned sons of.. something bad" as you called them, you racist idiot, dont know about football, the youre a fool. They make this game ebcause they love it. Sure it might be a bit different in terms of the way atmosphere is portrayed, but then again, the crowds still make a hell of a lot of noise at J-league games and so on. It is merely something that wasnt done right yet, thats all. Give them a break. And as for not understanding the game, how did korea perfrom so well in the world cup? Luck? No. They clearly love the game, at any rate, for the same reasons we do.

Its great to see licenses. A bit sad that its year old kits in Serie A and El Primera or whatever its called, but it wont bother me too much. I just think its stupid, thats all, and really dumb of the leagues. Short sighted, and money grabbing. I just hope to god that the premier league gets in ebcause that would be ace.

And does anyone know if the custom leagues will be able to have more than 16 teams this time round? After Id flawlessly (!) created the premiership win PES3, only then did I remember you could only have a league with 16 teams! It seemed a really pointless limitation to me, so hopefully they'll rectify it.

As far as I'm concerned, if they keep the basis the same and improve it all it'll be amazing. But I always worry that adding new tricks and so on isnt what PES is about, thats FIFA territory - its like in real life, all pro footballers can do great ball skills compared to us - but only those who are cocky or genius know how and when to use them in games. So in PES3 I hardly eer used the skill things as such, because you dont need them to be good. Anyway, I was pleasantly surprised about that in PES3 - they were quite hard to perform and were rarely that effective anyway, unlike in fifa rubbish. The 360 turn had to be executed so well to skin people that it was hardly bothered with in a game - like in real life. So.. I still have so much faith in konami. I really, really hope they keep the basic ideals and stuff in place, which have always made it better than FIFA. And i just hope tehy dont mess up, because its shaping up to be the best game ever right now!

Is there any chance that Konami can grab the 2004-05 licenses for spain and italy in time for PES4? That would make my year.

I dont know alot about the laws regarding football licenses but is this at all a possibility? I just find it strange that Konami managed to get the up-to-date Dutch league and not the others.

True. And the dutch (league, government-not people) are usually the more stubborn ones. I think it could be a possibility. Look at WE7 and PES3. PES3 had a couple more licenses and it was released after WE7. Who Knows?

all the rest of the news sounds good, the only real downer is the regeneration of retired players still. The way it was said, was that they come back as youngsters, means they will still have the same name, appearence. That add realism?? I must be missing the point and did it also say in that translated article that this feature cant be switched off??

well it says that there are some features in it which can´t be switched off, to make ML more difficult. However I don´t know if this info also refers to the retiring of players, but I fear it is so.
