just saw the videos, cool stuff. i like the one where totti is about to cross the the ball. i think thats a new animation. it look like he was speeding up just a little to get to the ball and cross it quickly. it look like what most wingers do in real life too. tight.

The movement of the palyers looks the same as WE7. I am expecting WE9 to be completely different like WE7 was to WE6, like the AI was completely differnet

WE9? probaly going to be 1 year from now cause after WE8 it probably be WE8i.

i think around feb or march like WE6 and WE7. it usually takes the USA version a bit longer since it will wait for the PES4 to alter the stuff and release it in America. im from the states too and waiting for the US version but at the mean time im going to but the Jap one for patching and stuff.
In some ways I wish I hadn't sold my PS2 now! As it is Im going to have to wait til PES4 gets released on PC, Grr... Ah well, at least I will actually be able to affiord to get my new machine built if I'm not buying PES4.. my current one wouldn't run PES3 i think, let alone 4...
Overall - I am very optimistic, because even if it isn't a light-year ahead of the last, as I've said before if it keeps getting better little by little, then its no bad thing - its still getting better - and if it's even better than PES3 I'll be happy. I mean.. I do hope hey totally overhaul everything maybe next time round, but getting some more things right now is fine, like the menus, kits and so on.
Provided they keep the gameplay as good, or slightly better, than the only other things I could wish for aren't as important. Id like to see a few increases in graphics, but it looks like thats happening now. And the licenses is a step in the right direction. Commentary i hope is better also. If they get the premiership in for PES4, I will be over-joyed, completely. And the correct rosters at time of release would be good. Sure, I have a few other niggles about litte things like editing options (team registrations etc), nets, stupid big flags which really should go, they look very 1990's to be honest.. i turn them off.. anyone else hate them? Anyone else think theyre totally unrealisitc, those waved ones in particular? And even the symettrical big flat ones on the crowd? That doesnt happen quite like that anywhere. OK, you always get flares at Italian games, but.. not most other games. I think theyd make it look a whole lot better by getting rid of all that - the personalied banners, boards etc for the teams (or so it seems to be) more than makes up for it.
Has anyone else noticed, particularly in that Chelsea video where Crespo scores, that the crowd seems to react to the goal? on the other hand, they're on their feet a bit before that too, so maybe its just cycles and a coincidence? I'm not too fussed about making the crowd super realistic, but making their animations react to goals and stuff would be easy to do, wouldnt be taxing for the game and would just be another thing that makes it all a bit better.
But hey. Its gonna be good, Im pretty sure.

It wouldnt be like Konami to put any effort into the crowd - so it probably was a coninsidence. 2 of the greatest thrills when scoring a goal, in gaming and in real life is the roar of the crowd, and the bustling of the ball in the back of the net, neither of those 2 things exist in we8 which is why scoring doesn't give you delight factor it should do. Its these niggling things that they neglect and the game suffers from it....
To be honest, Cristiano, I dont agree about the net. It IS a flaw, but I really dont see it as a major one. Sometimes it does work realistically enough, and also getting the net physics correct is not as easy as correcting the crowd - you know? It would be nice to see all the niggles changed, but its a mtter of effort versus result. The crowd WOULD be easy to make look and sound better. Thats my point, and it would make a big difference. I WOULD like custom chants in this though - I hope we can edit them.. It would be GREAT to go down St Marys, record "Oh when the saints" song and put it on Southampton.. Who, yes, are my team. I'd love that... I suppose getting one to play specifically when playing Portsmouth would be too much to ask, haha.. Either the classic "pompey scum" song or "Fuck off mandaric" would be nice. Or to other teams.. "Are you porstmouth in disgiuse".. haha
Personally I think the best thrill in scoring is the scoring itself. I DO get delight from scoring an important goal, or one against a mate, or a total scorcher or a well worked one. I think thats where most people get the thrill from, which is why the other issues are niggles in comaprison

crowd effects are cool, but its not neccessary because what you really want to hear are chants and songs. it would be great but not neccessary. seeing posters and signs is alright too.
It would be better to have a really good roar when a goal goes in or a bigger "just-missed" kind of noise.. you know.. when the crowd gets more excited around the box, and also when the team is down, and then ALMOST goes wild when someone hits the bar.. that real kind of "aawwwwwwww" you get.

i'd personally love to see (hear ) new chant reaction sounds. Atomsphere is a big part of football and it would be a great suprise if they've tweaked around with the crowd sounds for pes4.
On another point.... does anyone know if they've taken out that conferdence bar thing (at the bottom), i must say its one of the features in pes3 i never pay attention to lol
