I have Download Accelerator and haven't tried on lomungtung yet. How do you connect it?

-Although I will probably still use FlashXP anyway.

Maybe the name of the folder is to long, save the files directly on C:\

Evenin'! :p

I'm trying to burn my patched version of PES in CDRWIN 3.0. I have followed the guide thoroughly, but when I press "Record disc" an error pops up.

" 'START DAO RECORDING' command failed on device 1:0:0 Unable to set disc parameters "

I have ticked the RAW mode as the guide mentions, but if I leave the box unticked the recording will start and it'll proceed until about 30% before getting cancelled.

Anyone who knows what I should do?

Maybe you have selected your normal drive instead of the CD writer, my writer has 1:1:0 not 1:0:0. Try to change this setting. If this doesn´t work than take another version of CDRWin, 3.0 is a little bit old ;), 3.9 should be fine.
And if it still doesn´t work then grab Fireburner (free trial versions are available on the net if you search in google ;) ), set the speed to 4x, deactivate test burn, let every other setting at default and burn.

Heh, I had the 3.9 version all along. I sat up all night and my eyes must've been foggy - the 9 looked like a 0. :) I've checked that it's the CD-RW station that's selected.. :p I'll give the Fireburner a go now. *searching*

Thanks, Larsson

EDIT:

Got the Fireburner, but still no success. (I've wasted 5 discs now) I followed your alternative solution guide for fireburner and even scanned the file for errors.
Here is my status line:

Thread1: Executing (Cache enabled)
Recording device: AOPEN CD-RW CRW5224
Firmware version: 1.05
Recording method: Session-at-once
Recording Speed: 4x
BURN Proof: Disabled

//----------------------------------------------------------------------
// Test burning - no data will be written to CD
//----------------------------------------------------------------------

Thread1: Setting Write Parameters
Thread1: Write parameters set
Thread1: Reading Disc Info
Thread1: Reading Next Track Info
Thread1: Start LBA is -150
Thread1: Sending Cue Sheet
Thread1: Processing Track 1 Pregap [150 Sectors]
Thread1: Processing Track 1 [Mode2] [314302 Sectors]
Thread2: Executing
Thread2: Write Error @ Sector 203580
Thread2: Sense Error: ILLEGAL_REQUEST (0x05 0x10 0x02)
Thread2: Synchronizing Cache
Recording complete

I don't know if the "Test burning" part should pop up like that, but I'm sure I disabled the Test-burn function.

What do you suggest? And I really appreciate the help..

PS: I have Fireburner v.2.1.7 (double-checked ;) )

LeChuck, sorry if you posted this before.
Did you rip your PES3 DVD or use some other method to get it? Which patch did you use and how did you apply it? Try burning an unpatched image of your rip and see if that works.

Well you say that you disabled test burn but the status line thingy says: "Test burning - no data will be written to CD"

I followed Jonboyo's patching guide here on the forum. Got the Soccer3.iso (613MB), chose the jb 1.12.03 patch on lomungtung and followed the instructions given there:

CDMage -> extracting the data_e.afs file to my harddrive, ppf-o-matic -> importing the data_e.afs back and so on...

My unpatched .bin-file is approx. 703MB, WITH the patch applied 722MB. Is there something wrong here maybe?

And is it so that all patches should fit on a regular 700MB/80 min cd-r or will the size vary?

Considering I'm new to patching and the vast technical depth of a computer, I have lots of questions.
I'm glad you guys try your best to help..

Yeah, I noticed that as well, but when I opened the Device Options in Fireburner "Test-burn" was unchecked. But I don't really think that's my problem. You see, I've tried to burn the disc now at least 7 times and every time the operation gets cancelled. And EVERY single time the burning operation is cancelled on a different place then the last.

Tomorrow I'll try Nero... (after I have bought some new CD-R's) *arrrg*

LeChuck, have you burnt the unpatched bin yet?
Doing that will get us on the way to finding out where the problem is.

No, I haven't, Zyg. I'm out of blank cd's. :)
Will buy new ones tomorrow..

But how big is your unpatched .bin file?

As viewed in its folder, my unpatched bin file is 721.913 MB.
Right click and click on properties and it says
704 MB (739,241,984 bytes).
This was from following jb's ripping guide shown in the sticky thread.
After patching it with jb's anyripkit patch, the bin size was exactly the same. So your earlier mentioned 722MB seems right.

Don't worry about the max size for burning an image. I know of someone who has burned a bin file of 820MB onto a 700MB CDR. I don't know exactly how the bin size system works but it burnt disk worked.

Hopefully you're not trying to patch a previously patched bin. Make a new backup of your original CDrip before trying a new patch.

please.. help me.. I want to edit my game... those team names and player appearances SUCKS

Hi there veigarouca.
It seems like all you need is an updated option file like the one Georginho has been working on. All teams correct, including, names, badges, kits, formations, lineups and loads of corrections on player names and appearances as well as transfers. To get this file or alternatives, all you need is a device called an X-Port.

Click on the link in my signature (below my post) to see a good place to get an X-Port. There is a sticky thread in the General section full of info to help with using X-Port and explaining what it is and does.

If you don't want that, then you could get involved in the world of patching the game but these still need good option files to make the most of them.

Ehhm.....guides are always for beginners, experts don´t need patching guides. You can search but you won´t find a better guide.

Oliver, do you want to patch PES3 or WE7?
In most cases, you can follow larsson's guide but ignore steps 2 and 5 which make the whole process a lot simpler.
