Played PES1 for almost a year, and then I got PES2 and got kinda worried, cuz at the begginning it felt strange(felt like TIF)..and I play it almost every day, and I'v bought it more than a year ago.
I bet it'll be the same with PES3

Same here, like DeikonDhevin I played PES from release and was addicted and really liked the challenge. Got PES2 and found it disappointing and way to easy, so I modded my PS2 and got WE6 and then WE6FE...and got more into the editing side. Haven't looked back since...I still buy both series but I'm playing/patching the WE one more.

well i guess your not. but what puts you off pes3 is what happens in real football:
-players don't run from the half way line and score
-it is not easy to turn with the ball going at your full speed
-it's hard to find space in your opponents area
-harder to get past opponents opposite you
-you don't leave players for pace easily like in pes2
i think alot of people in this forum seem to be your followers seen as they are actually agreeing with your opinions, making them hate the game aswell................................well i think pes3 iz the best footy game made KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK KONAMI!!!!

Don't return PES3 just yet. Give it a few more days and play on a slightly lower difficulty level to get the feel of the game. PES3 does feel very different from PES2 but not so much compared to PES1. Give it a chance and you'll see that PES3 is the best footie game around. It just takes a little getting used to.

After playing FIFA 2003 for a whole year, and now moving on to PES3, i have to disagree completely. PES3 doesn't play like FIFA.
FIFA would be letting you pull off all the tricks with any player, any time. PES3 does not. FIFA would only give you one type of dash dribble, and about 2 or 3 tricks. PES3 gives you more. FIFA would be much faster moving, PES3 is slower paced. FIFA's presentation would be all new "pop" choons and real kits across the board. PES3 is not.
To me, some of FIFA's animations were more fluid than PES3, but that doesn't mean i'm not becoming a big fan of PES3 real fast. I don't really see how the games are similar apart from being footie games. I liked FIFA's commentary a lot more and the movement seems more flashy than PES3, but as to which game plays the better football, it's gotta be PES3, handsdown.

Remember that some of us knew what to expect due to WE7 and the PES3 beta. I mean mate if he grows to like it or not i think its class the best yet and from what i can gather hes played we7 and or other versions so as i say im standing by my comments sorry i hope you understand he thinks its shite i dont agree so i say what i think
And one other thing Zyg you should not stick up for blue and say im being harsh because if anybody else had posted a thread calling the game shite you would have been one of the first on his case , So come mate you tell him that in your opinion hes wrong.
Also im interested in your overall view of which is the better game we7 or pes3 ive asked you this a few times please could you answer mate cheers Garry

The first time I played PES1 (after playing ISS Pro Evolution) I thought "What a load of shit! Why couldn't they have just made a better looking version of ISS Pro and left it as it was?". I really thought the gameplay had gone down the toilet, but after 10 or so matches it dawns on you that they've made changes for a reason. The game improves everytime (unlike FIFA) and it takes a while to get used to the new improvements.
The same thing happened when I got hold of WE7 for the first time. I was expecting an amazing game after all the hype I'd been hearing and when I finally played it I honestly thought it was shit. Possibly the worst PES ever!! Too much like FIFA. But after playing it 10 or 20 times I can say that it is the best footie game I have ever played. Quite simply the most realistic and demanding (thank god!) football simulation on the market. PES3 is in most respects exactly the same as WE7 so give it time and you'll start to love it!!

I must admit I not really liking it all that much at the moment, but like the rest I'll give it time, the players seem more clumsy on one to one situations, and the control of the players seem to be more computerised than before??? i.e. the ball was in the defence area and I hadn’t touched the controls but my defender still was able to give it a massive clearance? and sometime the players don’t go in the direction you what them to?

The problem is not PES3, the problem is people have gotten so used to that when buying a new sports game ie Fifa 200*, NBA Live 200* that they know its the same game as before with just alittle more options, roster updates etc
This is *NOT* and never was the case with Konami and PES/WE games.
Saying the game is "shite" is pure and utter BS, its a great achivement, the most realistic sports game to ever be made. Now *you* may not like it and i can understand that but a "shite" game can never be a top notch title from Konami, Capcom, Square, Sega and Nintendo etc these are great game devolopers.

and its grown on me it really has
i was all for getting my money back this morning
but as it is after finding out which other skills i can do from this lovely forum im off to play it

i dont think n e ov us here think thats its shit except for bluescourse, but like most people said, it does take time gettin used too. I know alot of people didnt like it to begin with but look at every1 now!!!

I , it seems unlike alot of people that have posted, have only ever played the pro evolution series, so iv gone straight from pes2 to pes3, and yes this getting used to the game stuff is pretty hard going. When i moved from pes1 to 2 tho i didnt find the game felt all that different and it didnt take me long at all to get used the game, which very quickly became one of my top games of all time. Im still holding confidence that pes3 will come through soon enough, but ther are things have been said that i can relate to.
Because the game has become much more realistic you can get the sense that things are more 'pre determind', more fifa like if you will, but i think thats only because the syle in pes2 was so loose. Shooting i have some concerns over tho, beacuse as of yet i havent really hit a convincing shot which has had the direction and power i wanted, also every shot seems to be just drilled, where are the less powerful shots that have some bend? and how do u do them.

none of the pes's have eva had power shots, the meter has only been height, but i think this is way betta because its betta to aim at things. Look at fiffa thats got tha hard/soft shots but u cant aim at n e thing properly for e.g u want to hit tha top bar and in. That hardly eva happens in fiffa but with pes it gives you more freedom!!!
