I played atrocious last night in the first game. I think I tackled [MENTION=20055]Joel[/MENTION] two or three times in that match:lol:. Accidently of course. Thought I played well though when I switched to the middle after that. Me and [MENTION=29007]Bish[/MENTION] bossed the midfield all night. We were solid at the back as well thank to [MENTION=111134]Berry[/MENTION] and [MENTION=14866]Sweey[/MENTION], Berry in particular was solid all night.

It was almost like you were deliberately trying to make me not get my first assist.
[MENTION=14866]Sweey[/MENTION] how comes you've switched from right back to left back, when you're playing in defence?
For some reason my player never wants to hit the ball first time from a cross. Ionly got to hit it first time once last night, but they were other opportunities prior to that where my player just felt the need to control it, even though I pressed shoot at the right time. It's a great annoyance.

[MENTION=20055]Joel[/MENTION], are you holding down anything other than just shoot when you try to hit it first time? On FIFA 13, I would hold down R2 (might be a different button for you), because it made the player go for overhead-kicks/diving headers etc sometimes, rather than just the headers, whereas, on FIFA 14, I found that holding down the same button sometimes made the player control, when they could've headed it.

I did see a vod yesterday that showed how to kick overheads and it said to hold the L2 button down. Now I am not sure what that person had mapped to L2 but the general point is that perhaps I should be holding Finesse or Curl down for a volley.
BTW, [MENTION=52166]Dragonfly[/MENTION], I am starting to feel the Supercancel problem you asked about over a week ago. I can't get my player to cancel out a pass if I command with the appropriate buttons (R1+R2) before he receives the ball, so I get an ill-advised 1-2 pass when I don't want one.

It was actually the first time I've done that. I just wanted a different perspective and so tried it for the first one. After the impressive clean sheet we managed, I stayed there for another and same again. Thought it best not to rock the boat and stayed there for the third too. Conceding early was a worry as they were loading the wing against me but we saw it out despite some scares after [MENTION=111134]Berry[/MENTION] was disconnected.
Credit to Berry for his superb defensive performances and also to [MENTION=163836]Makavelian[/MENTION] who helped me out more than once and was quick to notice dangers I was leaving behind me when trying to overlap Phats.

Ah I should add to this actually: another factor in playing at left-back was that Berry was at RCB and I didn't think it was a good idea to have two human defenders on one side of the pitch and two CPU ones on the other.
