To be honest, chinaman, you said to begin with that you weren't a Fifa fanboy, but most of what you're saying is making you seem like one.
From the gameplay vids I've seen from Fifa so far, I can't notice hardly any difference from the previous game. The game speed has upped (for the better) slightly, but still not enough.
I don't think Fifa will ever feel as fluid as PES, whatever EA promise year in, year out. I like to press X and the pass to be made immediately, not when the game decides whether it wants it to be completed, or cut out by the opposition.
This post seems a lot like PES fanboyism, I know, but the difference is I happily give credit to both games where and when it's due.

Not really. fifa 09 have improved on gameplay and responsiveness, which is why the videos look similar to fifa 08. Collisions are also improved. You will need to play it to feel it.
Howeverm from the pes 09 videos, they look identical to pes 08.
I just think the way players pass the ball in pro evo 09 resemble something from pes 5 or earlier in that it's very angular and it feels like you can only pass in 8 directions and move in 8 directions, whereas in fifa it feels like you can move anywhere.
Anyway its just my opinion based on what Ive seen.

sorry but arent pes and fifa both FOOTBALL games? Their purpose is to simulate football as close to real life as possible...right...so why not compare them? The 2 have been compared for the pasat decase and pro has come on top up until last year. Its only when you realise you lose something that you instantly change your mind and say why compare...

what I really dont understand tho is....how can there be fan boys in a FOOTBALL game....I mean dont we all look for the best game that represents the sport? If FIFA 09 is better then PES 2009 I will buy it over PES 2009.....but I KNOW it wont....EA has never made a good soccer game and it wont start now especially how PES 2009 is shaping up and how ADAM ( from WEBN ) described the game.
as fas as my name goes....its only a SN for this site...nothing else to it and yes I like PRO EVO b/c its always been better if that changes then ill go with FIFA. But I promise you guys, I have talked to an"INSIDER", do not worry when you see the final build of PES 2009 graphically, all the modes it has, the gameplay, etc. you will be stunned. This is the most complete soccer title to date.
