Thats the thing, the one time I tried, I try clockwise-then realise its anti-clockwise and by that time, ive lost.

I may stick to the odd button bashing from now on, at the expense of my thumb's skin.

its better to bash the buttons but your buggered any road if the stamina low. as far as i can tell it dose not matter which way you rotate the stick.

Had a few scraps off Minof last night and once again we discovered more new skills and moves, this game is really something else.

11 days and counting.....

The most recent skill I discovered was the 'slam' whilst in a submission. It was great, I jumped off my seat and finished my brother off.

Does it work rotating anti-clockwise or is it only clockwise?

It doesn't matter, just make sure to stick with the direction you start off with and don't try swapping the other way around just because your arm is hanging off. :D

My advise is to keep an eye on your stamina and jude off that what way you'll try and escape. If you're really low and tired just use the punch or kick depending on the position you're in and especially using Chuck.

Have any of you noticed that it helps to use the fighters free hand/leg when trying to escape?

I've played the demo for countless hours, too. And it's quite simply brilliant! I have the ground game figured out and I've improved the timing of my standup as well. I've been playing on Expert for a while now and it can be frustratingly punishing but, it has certainly paid dividends in multiplayer winner-stays-on with friends! I must have went, at the very least, 20 fights (if not more) unbeaten against a group of friends, four in total, who couldn't topple me no matter how they tried. I even changed from Shogun to Chuck Liddel (at their request) so to give them every chance. But I battered them just as badly. :D

I had a similar run a few days before, only to be stopped via a Chuck Liddell headkick, and then again, by a Chuck Liddell superman punch. But both defeats saw me improve my blocking and my timing in the standup. Hopefully the online (PS3) is a smooth ride so I see if I'm really any good, or if my friends are just that damn awful.

Theres so much in it that a beginner has no chance of beating a veteran, thats another thing I like about it

Aye, I know the feeling. I'm slowly getting tired of being made to tap out. It doesn't seem to matter how fast i spin the bloody stick. maybe it's my swivel technique, I dunno...

Check out the tutorial in the demo, the swivel stick is for technical fighters because if you escape the submission you end up in a decent position.
The buttons are for strong fighters because its a physical escape that will result in you standing up.

It also mentions you are more likely to escape with the physical escape ;)

Yeah, watched the tutuorial last night :faceplm: I know, should've checked it before.

As for the stamina, I don't see a stamina guage... I guess It can be turned on in the options?

Yeah, as above, didn't realise there was a tutorial until last night...

I wonder if they'll try work the Ultimate fighter into the game something down the line? Now that would be some way of starting a career mode.

10 days gents.

Saw some more footage from this over the weekend and I must say I'm really looking forward to it...

...based on what I've seen and playing the demo, we could easily be looking at the best game of it's genre on any platform for many a year.

First game I have its Lesnar against Coleman, and I'm murdering the latter.

Run in, spear take down, ground and pound the head off him. ;)

Waiting....
I've moved to Expert level. I don't usually celebrate being knocked out, but I suffered a beauty. I was Rua and went in for a take down in the third round. Precisely as I went in for the kill, Chuck lifted a knee and sent me flying back into the cage wall. Game over man!

I can't wait for this. I'll be trading in Street Fighter 4 for a real fighting game.
