Oh, and one last thing, rumours are circling the PS3 MIGHT get a price cut tomorrow. I don't see it myself, but it could happen. I will rage if it does, after just paying full price a month ago.

Actually it was for the PS2.

Wayhey, that's good news for Ghostbusters fans who have the PS3, I don't think I'll be getting the game though (even though I do like the film).

No it said it's a timed PS3 exclusive.

Sony have swooped in late and signed a new publishing deal, whereby the PS3 and PS2 versions of the game will be released in PAL territories (ie Europe and Australasia) not by Atari, but by Sony Computer Entertainment. Those versions will be released on June 19, the same day that the film's due out on Blu-Ray.

But what about the other versions? They'll be coming, but later in the year, as Sony's takeover means the game will be a timed exclusive to the PlayStation home consoles.

Bit of a strange question, but does anyone know how to purposely get the 3 red rings of death, or even 4 RRoD for that matter. I keep getting 2 red rings on mine which is an overheating/fan failure problem, but they wont repair it for free with this sort of breakdown and have quoted me 70 notes to fix it, which i cant really afford right now with paying for my season ticket, cup final, rent etc etc.

Cover it in a towel but they should repair it for free if you've got 2 lights because that's now covered in the 3 year warrenty., 4 red lights are only if your tv cables aren't plugged in.

Strange, as said before, try overheating it somehow, maybe using a towel. When my first Xbox 360 broke, it wasn't due to RRoD, I still told them it was though so I'd receive free service. Chances are they won't even bother checking it anyway mate, they'll simply throw the RRoD ones away and send out a 2nd hand repaired Xbox 360 that didn't break due to RRoD. I never got queried when I sent mine back, and received a different Xbox 360 within about a week. How could I tell it was different ? Mine had distinct scratch marks on, and also the sticker with the code number at the back of the console was different. About a year later that broke, but due to RRoD so I also sent that one off, free again of course. Within 6 days I had an Xbox 360 sent back to me - again a different console.

No matter what the problem is, I think they quote £70 as my friend was quoted that too. He simply just bought an Xbox Arcade and stuck his Elite Hard Drive onto it. That was obviously before I told him to just lie about not having RRoD.

They do check it, as my one came back repaired (same serial number etc).

Just use a towel like the two above have said.

Yeh i think i'll try the owel option there. Might just phone back and say it's got the 3 RRoD....see if i get away with it somehow! Had to send it back a few times prior to this myself, once was the sound card fucked up on it and second was the RRoD, but apparantly the 2 red lights arent covered in the warranty which is a load of shit. Money i spend on Microsoft products over the year takes the piss and they wont fix my console free of charge. So tempted to buy a PS3 after all the problems with this 360 in less than 3 years.

Even with the annual problems a 360 brings, they're still far superior than the PS3. Trust me, I have one. And if it came down to buying a game for the Xbox for £40, and the same game on the PS3 for £30, I'd go the Xbox route everytime.

The towel trick is a short-term fix, I'm afraid. I tried it and it only worked for about three days. If you're happy to do this every time your console breaks, go for it - it's cheaper than having to buy a new console.
