These two guys have no experience with PES thats for sure.

They havent even triede to move the player selected with right stick before kicking the ball. Besides that they actually dont review anything. They play a couple of games and talk nonsense. Useless IMO.

Slightly off topic, but I still can't believe IGN gave Fifa a 9.5!! That pretty much means it's one of the best games this year. Better than Deus Ex, on par with Portal 2, better than LA Noire. Utter bull crap.

Every year guaranteed it will get a 9.5. I remember fifa 09 use to get 9-10 ratings and that was a load of shit.

I was telling the fifa fanboys how the reviewers are clearly paid to rate it so highly which got them upset. Never is there any impartial review on the pros and cons of fifa. I'd say 9 at most but even that's pushing it

Maybe not 'paid off' in the sense most would assume, but just a pressure to stay on EAs good side in order to continue to receive free goodies and games weeks and months in advance I imagine. And let's not forget, who are they going to have reviewing the FIFA game? Someone who is a big FIFA fan most likely, and has been for many years so they can compare the intricacies of previous builds to the latest. Which ultimately means besides the pressure, there's likely to be some form of bias going on anyway, whether conscious or subconscious.

PES 2012 is surprisingly looking like quite a good game this year, and they seem to have sharpened up the gameplay from the several videos I've seen.

:facepalm: How soon we forget. That conversation was in relation to an IGN review. Remember my reference to the IGN review for the seminal PES 2008 that they gave 9.2/10?

Guess not.

They also gave PES 2011 9/10, not exactly a bad score.. they gave the distinctly average PES 2010 8.7/10. By that you could infer it was only marginally worse than the 8.8 they gave the frankly excellent Fallout 3.

I tend to use GameFAQ's. They have both official linked reviews as well as user written ones. I don't use it as a specific to buy or not to buy guide, more of a find out what the game does, so I know if it will be the sort of thing I fancy. If I'm unsure then I do what I did with PES 08/09/ & 10, which it get it pre-owned on the cheap at a later date.

I have the full game, and sincerely tell you guys that this year PES is better than FIFA.
I havent had this much fun with a PES game since the days of PES 5. In my humble opinion this the best PES ever.
The demos are just an small taste of the full game.

Now that is a review I hold more truck with, one of a respected member with a considerable PES knowledge (and the co-creator of one of the best OF's to ever grace the forums).

Pategato, give us some more titbits from the game, whats the editing like on this years PES in terms of altering formations in the edit section as opposed to in game mode? That was disabled in PES2011 so you couldn't update the formations as you could in previous PES.

On a side note, I have been watching FIFA 12 ads all morning during the M City-Everton game. They are such incredible marketers. No football players in the commercials but Steve Nash of NBA Phoenix Suns and Seth Meyers from Saturday Night Live. Great cross-entertainment presentation of their game. That sells regardless of the game reviews. good job at least on that side EA.

Two lower tier english clubs and players have the ball glued to their feet like Barca players, and the shooting accuracy seems world class too.

GK are more or less the same from the demo, a bit improved I would say. But to get to them you have to work harder, cause the cpu is very smart, and will cut your build up play if you don't do it properly. Love this game.

Oooh, look at the saves at 9:55, looks like the GK's imporved a bit more.. Not just luck, he would almost guaranteed have scored in the demo! :p Can't wait to get my hands on this game! :-D
