That example is EXACTLY how Konami has programmed the scripting. FIFA just shifts into god mode, where every player suddenly plays like Messi. Konami's scripting-cheating mechanism is less obvious but IMO more infuriating. Because your own players essentially cause the goal by suddenly playing like shit. Your defenders turn away from the ball carrier and even run in the opposite direction. Or your GK will for some insane reason park himself ten feet away from the post when the CPU is shooting from the goal line... that sort of thing. It's ridiculous and cheap and so bloody obvious what Konami did with the game programming there.

No no, you THINK there's gonna be a goal coming, because a team is playing well and/or the other team is playing poorly. It's not an absolute certainty like it is in PES. Every goal in real football is preventable, even 30 yard screamers. It's not that way in PES.

Why youre getting MAD. I dont THINK it will, i KNOW it will. and it has nothing too do with one team playing better then the other team. almost every goal comes after a mistake. and isnt basicly every ai goal scripted how else will they score

In real football, you can't KNOW a goal will come. Lionel Messi could go clean through on goal and still miss. In PES, you'll find that you'll have instances where the cpu will move your players out of the way, mis-direct your passes etc etc.
Konami have admitted in the past that there is scripting.... there's no better confirmation than that.

There's alot of anger towards people who don't 'enjoy' PES. I see a lot of "Learn the game" and "You're not playing it right". Surely that's as subjective as someone just saying "Meh its just shit". Neither is right nor wrong to either person.
Football must be incredibly difficult to replicate in a satisfactory simulation that is challenging, anything that tilts the balance in favour of the AI may seem like cheating but its clearly poorly realised scripting. Scripting should be subtle and barely noticed.

Despite some scripting/rubberband balancing acts whatever you wanna call it loving this game offline on superstar, the AI forces me to use my football brain unlike any other pes. My standing tackles are getting better and after delving into tactics more I'm having more success against the AI. Using patch 1.00 btw where the AI behaves more realistically in my own experience.

At first I thought it wasn't possible but subtle changes were made post patch that effected gameplay negatively. I have played both versions extensively and 1.00 is better against the AI, more midfield play less crazy deep defensive lines, shooting slightly firmer and the game feels more free.
Recommend giving it a try sminky if you haven't already. Only small differences but with a pes game the small things can make a huge difference. The AI was like playing 11 generic robots on steroids on 1.01.

I'm on xbox mate, I downloaded the patch then deleted it by clearing cache(It keeps the transfer update luckily). Not sure how ps3 works but you might have to download transfer update and patch, then delete the patch but keep the transfer update intact.
