A decent night's work, we secured promotion to division 4. My last game was a flipping shocker - even pulled up twice like Bammers would have.
Two of the moments of the night:
In what I think was the penultimate game - a ball played into me just outside the area which I stopped dead and then delayed a pass for about a econd so that I could slide a short through ball into the path of Barn who was just inside the area and scored. Lovely build-up play.
Another was a move involving three of us and a CPU player/all four of us - something along the lines of a clearance to me in midfield, I played it wide to Bish/Phats who played it long to Phats/Barn/CPU who then crossed it over to an unmarked Barn/CPU. Quick, simple, effective.
That 3-3 game was a shocker - the CPU making monumental mistakes one after another to wipe out our 2-0 lead and then me making a mistake up the field in the move that led to the last goal of the match.

Good session tonight, won the D5 title and two well worked 1-0 wins with both goals coming from set pieces. The run by [MENTION=29007]Bish[/MENTION] on the back of my chipped free-kick was just perfect and Sweey's downward header was timed well enough to bounce over the goalie. Speaking of goalies, ours seemed to be super human tonight! Some of the saves he made were incredible! Also props to [MENTION=111134]Berry[/MENTION] at CB for mopping everything up as usual and the rest of the team for working hard and playing some good football. I don't know if you played after I left but we were 3 wins out of 3 when I was there, looking good for at least safety in Div 4.
Did anyone see our defender leave his man in one of our games? The ball was with their right winger and rather than closing him down he decided to run back towards the halfway line, leaving Berry and the rest of the defence in a bit of bother. Thankfully we didn't concede.

Yeah, the CPU's in defence really wanted to make life hard for me at times. At least we got the wins though, very well won they were. Can't beat nicking a 1-0 win like that. That's what champions do :smug:

I couldn't believe my header went in without a touch. Talk about heading it right into the ground! In a tough game last night I had two clear chances to score and botched them both up by trying to be cute and not going for power. It was a tough game as well, many apologies for the wasted chances - they could well have cost us a victory had it not been for [MENTION=111134]Berry[/MENTION] doing so fantastically.

To be honest, I didn't know Phat was gonna chip the ball in from the free kick, thought he was gonna shoot. I timed my run well around the wall but with the intention of possibly getting on the end of a rebound from the GK. Great spot from Phat anyway, luckily it worked out. I'll keep this in mind for future games. Still haven't scored with my feet though!
Bez was superb in defence. Those 1-0 wins were largely down to him.
