I remember it well. Can get frustrating that part.
I'll go back to the game and start again but not for a few days at least. No matter how long I leave it though the first few hours will be all too familiar and therefore irritating!
I did try to save manually but the option was always greyed out. I hadn't heard of the autosave bug at that point so I assumed there was no option to save whenever I liked at the stage of the game and that the game was pretty much constantly autosaving on it's own.

Have to say I was impressed with the game though. The human AI wasn't up to much but other than that it's clearly a top class game. It just annoys the shit out of me that all of the immersion and tension built up by that intro and the first couple of hours of play will be completely lost when I eventually go back to start again.

I've just gotten up to the 'Delivered to Letterbox' level. From what I've heard, I believe this is a decent level. Unfortunately I'm stuck in one of the repeatable side quests - the one where you're stuck in an office all day. Not a terribly exciting side quest, but a necessary one.

No, same for me Apps. Sometimes loads the game fast and other times really slow progression for it to get to 100%. And the boot up screen you're just staring at a black screen for an age before the Sony logo comes up.

This game is just so fucking enjoyable even though it has a dark element to it. Keep putting it on thinking I'll play for juat a bit and end up losing hours.

Very surprised both Joel and Ellie made it through. Thought for sure one would die. At the end I was sure that he left her behind for that black chick. Even when Joel falls fof his horse after being impaled and then the season changed I thought he was done for.

I'm still not very far in it. Just gotten past the bit that was in the demo, which is your first encounter with the infected in the office block. Talk about throwing you in at the deep end. I still died 3 or 4 times. First time I took out all the runners, then stupidly got a bit cocky and decided to go for an emphatic kill on the clicker. Tried to run up to it and smash it in the face with a brick.... bad mistake. :facepalm:

Yeah, I didn't know how to take them on at first and got my arse wupped a few times at that part. The atmosphere is just second to none. The good thing about it what kept me playing is they don't bog you down too much with the same enemy's. Thought it would be like Uncharted one with just an onslaught of the same enemy's and then change the enemy's later on in the game.
Character building is just exceptional, especially Ellie.
Naughty dog have just killed it on the PS3 IMO delivering the two best games with this and Heavy Rain. Certainly a contributing factor why I'll get a PS4 so to not miss out on one of their future games.

Heavy Rain was by Quantic Dream (also developing Beyond: Two Souls with Ellen Paige and Willem Defoe, which is out in August I believe). Naughty Dog have created Uncharted and TLoU on PS3.

Yup. They created Fahrenheit on the PS2 as well, which was a good game.
I can't remember what ending I got. I think one character may have died. It wasn't the perfect ending, but wasn't a completely shit one. I played through on the hardest difficulty on my first go, so there was more of a risk factor.

I'm disappointed that I had so many collectibles left to find, I didn't do all the optional conversations (the ones where you press triangle) and I didn't open every shiv door. I was sure that I covered every inch!
Ok, now for the story:
I think we can all agree that Joel is a bit of a bastard, can't we? Well... maybe not so much of a bastard, more of a selfish cunt. Yes, we all love Ellie as if she were our own flesh and blood, but putting the entire future of the human race at risk because she clearly reminds him of his own daughter? Bold move!

Upon closer inspection I've got two trophies for completing the game.
