Demo 1: Constructive Criticism

Honestly, I've played around 15 games on top player, and they have yet to score a free kick.

But, yes they need to sort out what are fouls and what deserve which card, and also look at situational cards/fouls (not a bad foul but he would havebeen throughon goal =red card)

Refs don't punish retrospectively,if you do a terrible tackleand they get the advantage, he will notgo back and bookthe player

I think the positional play of keepers can be improved

Simple and easy

I had stated this in the previous thread....Superstar level is very easy to play.

My opinion is that they have reduced the game play (many might see this as a plus) by making the shooting incredibly powerful and accurate. I hardly miss a shot on goal. Although many are saved ..they are mostly on target.

Next thing is the passing....very easy. Ping Pong your way to the final third and you are sure to get a shot. I had stated this early also and i have seen some one mention it also....

If you do not not use the fast (R1) button or use only R2...there is little pressure from the defenders.

Also, turning on defenders is too easy on both end of the pitch. I can see a huge problem here for online games if this is mastered.

For me, the game feels like good ...but it also feels like a basic build with very little tactical skill needed.

If you can pass and shoot ...you have mastered this demo easily.

Pes 2013 is awesome! i think i will finally purchased it this year. i do however have a problem with it. the rubber banding of the player receiving a through pass...every single time i make a through pass...the player receiving the ball looks like he's waiting for a specific position to receive the ball...(sometimes he runs side ways along with the ball).
it's really frustrating when i make a defence splitting through pass..instead of bursting away through on goal, i have to wait for the player to align itself properly...and then run. by that mili-sec time...the defence has caught up with me.
anyone understand what i'm trying to say here! kind of difficult to explain

Check out MAKAVELIAN's video above...@ 06-07 secs....

My biggest concern is the keepers. They are still shite, however improved since 2012.
I really don't know what konamis problem is regarding this. On ps2 and ps1 i never ever noticed any recurring keeper flaws as i do on the ps3. For me it seems like using triangle to rush out is completely useless since any attacker can easily shoot the ball just over the keepers leg as he goes down to take the ball with his hands.

Goalkeepers need improving and pretty badly.

Ref decisions are pretty stupid. Lost count how many times I won the ball only to get a decision against me.

Cheating A.I who some how mange to gain the strength of 10 men and are impossible to get the ball off.

Stats....... A.I need to stick to them........... No way is a 72 top speed keeping up with an 80+ but all the stats are pretty much worthless cause the A.I..well...cheat as I said above.

Demo has plenty of flaws but I am still enjoying every match.

Ughhh! The scripting is so over powered! Literally every game I've played I've dominated but still lost. Stupid goals that are just undefendable! Really worried if this is not fixed by the final build

^ At first i thought "Finally, no more scripting" but the more matches i play, the more concerned i got unfortunately :( I've experienced the same as Macheda mentions.
You control the game and have 70 % ball possession and 8-9 shots on target. They have one shot on target and score in the 89th minute. I know it happens in real life as well, but in the demo it just happens to many times, that they don't cross the half way line until the last minute and then they score..

Just lost to Coventry(PES 2012), had 68% ball possession, hit the bar three times and to make it even worse they scored in the 87th minute. :realmad:I switched off my console and took a walk coz i was afraid i might do something i ll regret to my screen.....

I've played 20+ games now on Superstar, I've only lost 4, drawn 2 and won the rest.

Yeah the AI is proficient with the final through ball but when I play to my best the AI can't hold a candle to me. Sure I concede but I've turned games around on multiple occasions.

I don't think replays need to be skipped, it's just a matter of having replays when appropriate. In PES2012 you get a replay for EVERY shot, even if it's going out of the stadium (Although i don't get replays when i hit the post/crossbar, which is silly). They just need replays for shots that are close to goal, and spectacular shots like volleys/diving headers etc. They should probably lose the flashy animations between replays as they waste time, i prefer the fade to/from black like on PS2.

Id go as far as saying.. if the cpu only has 1 or 2 chances and scores.. it could be that you havent learnt to properly defend yet?

Its not a dig but everyone who criticises any game never seems to looks at themselfs for reference.

Daymos, You cannot deny that the AI does cheat however. It's annoying to see the AI score sometimes because you could feel the cheating. But note. I said "sometimes" because the way the AI works in this game is to frustrate you and the AI does play a patient game. What's a patient game? Well, basically the AI plays in a way to try to get you to commit a mistake especially when in defence and when that happens, you're doomed.

The difference however, is that this year, when you do play properly without frustration, the AI won't score. But if you loose it, even slightly, the AI will score. Same goes for when you score.

Notice that when you're 2-0 up, the AI rushes more and thus they would be more prone for a counter attack. Basically this year, tactics will play quite apart if they work on the AI more.

I don't really have a problem with cpu scoring chances. The defending system (against the cpu) seems to suit my game of play. I don't use high pressure tactics or team mate press that often, and prefer to stand off/cut off passing lanes. So when, I get cut open I know it's mostly my fault for allowing that thru ball option.

I've definitely conceded more goals on professional tho, compared to superstar lol.

My only gripe is that the cpu is extraordinarily reluctant to do simple passes backwards to an open player(defender) to keep possession. Especially when they have no other option, they'll continue to bomb forward. (This happens all the time for me when I crowd them towards the touch lines)

Lets hope the CPU AI is tweaked to suit all our issues..

My AI issue was about the GK.. I waned the GK to make mistakes" like jump out to punch a ball from a corner kick to totally collide with players or miss complete or even just get a slight touch on the ball..

The GK AI options now are just to stand still or come out and 100% catch it.

Another thing i wanted was to see a through ball from the half way line where its just the forward running to get to the ball on the edge of the area before the goal keeper..

Currently in PES.. the goalkeeper AI will only let it come out of the Area to get the ball if the CPU has 100% calculated it will get there 1st.

I want to see it occasionally mis-calculate the distance leaving the forward to chip or run round them etc..

Also running round players I hope gets harder during 1 on 1's..

having the cpu pass back now and then should be added to this list..

I agree with the posters above. at first i thought the scripting wasn't there (i admit it improved a lot from pes2012), but after more games i see the ai just turning the heat on with extremely lucky shots and excellent dribbling screens. me: 1000 shots on goal with 1 goals, AI:1 shot, 1 goal.

I am praying this gets toned down for the final build as I fear for the structural integrity of my controller.

or simply tweak the engine so the AI plays smarter without the need of any scripting.
i dont care if they beat me 5-0 by playing smart, i do mind when im up 1-0 in 83rd min and they beat me 2-1 because my players suddenly become inferior
