'And again with the 'look how many people dislike it' tripe. What's the old saying? If someone told you to jump off a cliff would you do it?'

How does this apply, in ANY way, to what I said?! And what i said is a valid argument, when a vast amount of people on a PES FAN SITE don't like the game, you know it's shit.

I've made nothing but intelligent, concise points, while you're the one who's blabbered and droned on. If you like the game, are happy with it, enjoy it, whatever, go and enjoy it. Why bother contributing to a thread titled 'DO NOT BUY PES 2012'?! Your ignorance lies in thinking the game is subjective. It is not.

THE GAME, JUDGED HONESTLY ON IT'S MERITS, IS ABSOLUTELY AWFUL.

That's not subjective. That's fact.

You choosing to like the game in spite of the many faults, that's subjective.

DO YOU UNDERSTAND ALL THIS?!

And before you even say moaning and bitching and crying about how you don't see the glitches and u love the game and blah blah blah. Don't bother, just go and play your shit game. Because if you can't see the game's glaringly obvious flaws than you've proved my point. You are ignorant, or just an idiot. There's nothing wrong with liking the game, but to pretend you can't see it's massive flaws is ridiculous. Grow up and stop been a bitch.

By the way, I wouldn't never say; 'loadz of peepz don't like it'. Learn to read. Pathetic fool.

this bloke makes me laugh, people like this think they are so clever and concise haha, maybe on the forums he feels this way but in real life would he really be so insulting to others, i think not.
and he obviously just keeps getting owned on 2012 and this is what he dislikes more than anything haha... sooo lame mern

Not to mention that his opinions are as subjective as mine and anyone else who wants to add there own perspective on the game. For some reason he seems to feel that my liking the game, telling people I like the game and my enjoyment of the game is the wrong thing to do, yet it's OK to do the complete opposite of that.

In one breath he's telling me to go away and go enjoy the game, yet he can't stay away himself just to bad mouth it. Seems quite obsessive to me.

It honestly baffles me how someone can get so riled up about someone liking something that he doesn't. Live and let live I say.

Anything judged or accepted by the majority are never facts. Simply since, everyone is so different with their views. Its like saying the universe started with the big bang, and concluding it is a fact, when it can never be proven. That being said, it isn't a fact that PES is a completely horrible game, so Steve Justice is right. You stand to your opinion and he stands with his. For me, I know there are many flaws of the game; its just that there are also lots of things that make the game, and the flaws are not enough to be gamebreakers.

How to 'prove' that a game is horrible anyway? Hell, i can assure you, that some people enjoy a game that has holes in the defence that can be continuously exploited and break, simply so that they can score lots of goals. Some like the fast paced arcady nature of a game. Some like the uncontrollable unpredictability. And that is the fun factor for them. Take away those factors, and in their opinion, the game is completely horrible.

EDIT: damnit Steve justice, you posted first, now my post seems abit redundant lol.

Actually you put my point across better than I could tbh. Like I've already said, no one person is right, you either like it or you don't. And it doesn't matter what the majority say (and judging by the other thread, the majority like it), it's all about personal opinion.

Facts? THERE ARE NO FACTS when it comes the decision between a bad game and a good one. THAT'S AN OPINION.
Some like it, some don't. SIMPLE.

However let me add something.
This Pes had great ideas but didn't execute all of them nicely, thus leaving it feeling unfinished and unrefined.
And the good side DOES outweigh the bad side. HOWEVER, the bad side is so eye-catching that it's irritating to see.

This is why some people hate it so much. However these people need to learn how to judge the FULL game not just hate on the bad side so hate all the game.
Same with those who are saying it's excellent. Learn to judge because it does have a bad side.

However, we fall in the same argument again. THESE ARE OPINIONS.

For those of us still trying to debate the game's flaws/positives:

Today in an online game, I'm playing a guy who plays a through ball out wide. Knowing what's coming next I switch to my CB and prepare for the cross. I'm waiting on the cross for a good 3-4 seconds. The second the guy hits the cross (on the sprint; without a look; just pressing the "hit it to my guy" button), my cursor goes into an animation (without me pressing ANYTHING) where I turn around and look at the crowd and squat down....Meanwhile a striker comes on a frozen rope to the ball and diving header 1-0.

Later in that same game, the guy tries spamming a chipped through ball. This one happens to come directly to me, and I have a bit of time. As I'm waiting on the ball to land at my feet, my player (without me pressing ANYTHING), turns around and runs backward while looking behind at the ball....Naturally, his guy comes in stride on a rope to pick up the pass, and I have to mash a bunch of buttons to get my guy to respond and tackle.

There are tons of oddities just like this one, and a lot of them have been listed before...

When the entire engine is based on that, is that not gamebreaking to you??

i agree, this game needs major changes. the engine is so fucked up already they need to undo all the crap they did to the engine of 2006 and then start building on that one from scratch

Sent request. I am not against joining an all manual community (why did that feel strange to type that?).

Assisted passing should NEVER affect the other person/teams defending. That, to me is a broken system.

I was wondering who sent the request, when I'm next on I will give you a game. We Just had a new baby so as long as she is sleeping I won't get disturbed

I've gotta say, I'm really annoyed by this game. I bought it and, while waiting for the option file update, thought I'd get used to the game by playing cups on regular level. I thought it was ok, exciting games, good skills (much improved dribbling from the last game) and really nice flow to the matches but ultimately way too easy. Once I had the update I thought I'd get stuck into the Master League on professional level. What a mistake to make.
I personally buy any game so that I can challenge myself to get better at it by improving my skills and understanding of the game, I'm not one of these people who uses walkthroughs and cheats in games, I dont mind being beaten by the CPU at all as that what makes the winning all the more sweeter, but PES 2012 simply turns this entirely on its head. On the professional level the course of the game is simply taken entirely away from you by the AI of both the opposition and your own players.
There are too many issues to write here but a couple I can think of off the top of my head are;
practically every single rebound, clearance, loose ball will land to a CPU controlled player.
any run made by your team mates (unless instigated by yourself) is practically useless as they simply run directly at or alongside an opposition player.
an opposition player, no matter if its Messi or Delap, if the CPU decides, will simply roll, stumble and trip its way directly through your defence.
if your use the close down button at any time when an CPU player is running at your back line it will always be the holding player who flys up leaving the player he was marking with a stroll in on goal.

I could go on and on and on. I'm not saying I lose every game because I dont, but this just leads to a game where your control of the skills and understanding of the game is rendered irrelevant. If the CPU decides your gonna concede a goal your gonna concede a goal, you can see it coming a mile off. e.g. a long ball up field to a dwarf striker who then beats your gigantic centre half in the air, the ball rolls past your full back despite you practically breaking the controller to try and get him to turn just to see an opposition midfielder with a top speed of about 12 float past your back line then cooly slot a shot moving at 4 miles an hour through your keppers foot into the middle of your goal while you look back at the replay to see your other centre half appears to be waiting for a corner to be taken in the opposition box.
If I get beat I want it to be because the computer has beaten me with good football or because I'VE done something crap, not simply because its decided I need to lose.

Totally ruined my enjoyment of the game because theres a brilliant PES waiting underneath it all.

well if you watched Hannover vs Bayern Munchen last week in the bundesliga, that was a typical PES game. Referee was shit, 2 red cards, 1 silly penalty, loads of chances and possession for Bayern, the most stupid silliest own goal ever... and in the end they lost 1-2...  :crymore:

It is happening again
I finally played some multiplayer yesterday, against my brother. It wasn't much better. In fact, the only reason that made it better was that we could both laugh at how bad the game is.
There was some nice bits of scripting. I went 2-0 up. He scores a goal. I KNOW another one is coming, it's so obvious. So I recieve the ball with my defender not far outside my box. I aim pretty much straight forward to try and pass it to my centre mid, but what does he do? He passes it to his left.... literally STRAIGHT towards the opposition player..... guess what was the outcome? Yep.... a goal. This isn't anything to do with bad play from me, this is the game deciding the outcome of the match. I can laugh at this when it's just me and my brother, but if it was online (where I become very competitive), I'd be fuming!

Turn off the pass assitance then. And for that matter any other assitance from the CPU. Then you will have complete control like me.

I only have my assistance on 2, and there is no other assistance on.... but why should that be an excuse for my player passing in completely the wrong direction to where I aim? I've tried it with 0 assistance and you still don't have complete control, there is just the illusion of more control. I've mentioned many times about the power system on passing - ie that it's completely redundant - you hold it, they tap it... you tap it, they whack it.

I notice you're a PS3 user. I'm on 360, and I don't get that problem. I'm honestly not bs'ing, I don't experience half the issues people are complaining about. I don't even get that stutter run that some 360 users are getting, however I did get it on the demo, which I deleted and reloaded and that probem dissapeared. I'm honestly starting to think that there is a batch of good discs and a batch of bad discs, and I was lucky enough to get one of the good one's.

I understand the issues on pes 12, however I can NEVER agree with the passing issues. Yes sometimes but rarely (if you play at 0 assist passing), the player will not pass as you wanted. But isn't that a good thing? I mean not every player is Pirlo and you expect these errors from your players, otherwise it'll be ping pong all day and that would suck more.

Seriously though, my player has never passed the ball in the wrong direction, like say, I press to the left and the ball goes to the right, however it has a few annoyances like when the game doesn't read the player that you wanted to pass the ball to.

However, that's more like a cursor problem rather than a passing problem.

just because you're not pirlo or xavi doesn't mean you can't pass left or right when you want to

Completely agree Shaun7...

Sigh it seems whenever a shot/pass or anything isn't executed perfectly the game is shit and has serious flaws.

I'm not saying the game is perfect by no means...

But the fact that a shit player that isn't Pirlo or Xavi makes a poor pass now and then is exactly why I prefer this over FIFA...the individuality.
