I understand the issues on pes 12, however I can NEVER agree with the passing issues. Yes sometimes but rarely (if you play at 0 assist passing), the player will not pass as you wanted. But isn't that a good thing? I mean not every player is Pirlo and you expect these errors from your players, otherwise it'll be ping pong all day and that would suck more.

Seriously though, my player has never passed the ball in the wrong direction, like say, I press to the left and the ball goes to the right, however it has a few annoyances like when the game doesn't read the player that you wanted to pass the ball to.

However, that's more like a cursor problem rather than a passing problem.

I know what you're saying, I don't expect every pass/shot to go exactly where I aim, but for the game to pass it/shoot it in a different direction entirely just beggers belief. The incident I was talking about, the guy LITERALLY passed it straight to the opposition player, when I aimed nowhere near. Yes, I did have a bit of assistance on, but assistance should... you know.... ASSIST you in putting the ball where you want to go.

Again, with shooting, it's a load of rubbish when the player shoots in completely the wrong direction. Yes, in real football, a player may slice the ball horribly, resulting in the ball going in completely the opposite corner... but in PES, the player (not me) actually AIMS in the wrong corner. Not to mention the very large amounts of shots that go straight at the GK.... from good strikers.

I thought PES 2012 was supposed to increase the amount of control the player has? In my opinion, it has taken it away. Nobody on here is gonna convince me otherwise (though, you're all entitled to your opinion), since I am speaking from experience.

I finally played some multiplayer yesterday, against my brother. It wasn't much better. In fact, the only reason that made it better was that we could both laugh at how bad the game is.
There was some nice bits of scripting. I went 2-0 up. He scores a goal. I KNOW another one is coming, it's so obvious. So I recieve the ball with my defender not far outside my box. I aim pretty much straight forward to try and pass it to my centre mid, but what does he do? He passes it to his left.... literally STRAIGHT towards the opposition player..... guess what was the outcome? Yep.... a goal. This isn't anything to do with bad play from me, this is the game deciding the outcome of the match. I can laugh at this when it's just me and my brother, but if it was online (where I become very competitive), I'd be fuming!

the funny thing is, the defender passes the ball to the opposition but thats not the whole story. After he passes it, he rushes forward few meters, himself, the attacking player where the ball was intended too and a couple of other defenders next to him. They all go forward while the opposing player is left alone rushing in the other way... this game is so fucking ridiculous and seabass is a big scam joker. what pes this year did was intensive marketing in order to fool us that the new release will be good so many interviews, 2 demos and so much promises that we bought the game without even waiting to check how is it gonna be... fool me once shame on you, fool me 10 years shame on stupid me

Turn off the pass assitance then. And for that matter any other assitance from the CPU. Then you will have complete control like me.

enough jokes dude

i dont intend to complete every pass no, but i want to control which player i want to pass too, i want to pass left and not right i want the pass to be quick not slow, i dont need to be xavi or schweinsteiger to do that

'Totally ruined my enjoyment of the game because theres a brilliant PES waiting underneath it all.'

Here lays the biggest problem with all football games, scripting.
The main reason my football gaming has dramatically tailed off since 'next gen' machines came out.

But there is a great game in there. The AI seems to be at a level it shouldn't need to cheat. Before the AI lacked the ability to compete, make a game interesting and change its flow, unless it resorted to removing your control. Now we just need Konami to see this, recognise the problem, have faith in the new AI, and stop the scripting.

The good news for Konami, is that EA's AI is still no where near clever enough to cope without its scripting.

Why do you have such a problem with the fact I don't experience the majority of the issues that people are complaining about? I have absolutely no reason what so ever to lie about my experiences. None at all. And it's not as if I'm the only one who isn't experiencing these issues, much like you're not the only one who is.

If I really could be bothered (or cared), I'd invite you to my house just to prove it to you. But I have this futuristic front door that doesn’t allow anyone through that has the equivalent or lesser IQ of a digestive biscuit.

are you denying the existence of scripting?
This is far more noticeable on top player so someone crap at the game probably wouldn't notice it.
Also it works both ways, much like an arcade racing game. Making your car slower when your are in the lead and faster when behind.
Its a way of balancing up the game to create a certain level of difficulty, where the cpu interferes one way or the other with the course of a game or season.

If you are in the UK and still unsure about buying this i would wait another week or so yet, even though it took longer than i thought, it is down to £27.91 on amazon and i would say it will be down to £20+/- £2 by the end of next week.

Might as well wait until new patch comes out now anyway which should be around the time it goes under £20.

The big problem about not buying this game is that i have to play FIFA instead. Not sure what is worse, reading a book, getting some "culture" etc or playing FIFA.

It's painful isn't it?

I see the same old subjective nonsense posted in here bandied around as matter of fact.

I actually bought PES2012 today (£27.91 from Tesco - free bit of advertising there Tesco, any chance of some freebies?), I know first hand from playing it Saturday how frustrating the game is but I want to give MLO a shot at least. If I feel aggrieved about elements of the game I will explain exactly why and what I feel could improve it.

welcome back from the ban... but i still think you are wrong... the game sucks which is the opposite of what you say and we dont lose or suck at the game also which is the opposite of what you say

With the passing, there's no way that I'll agree because it is good the way it is. Seriously, I do not want full control, I want to place my passes, but I also want the game to calculate the player's passing ability, combine both and the result will be the ending pass and pes 12 DOES THAT well enough.
In my experience, the player has never passed in a completely different direction than the one I pressed.

As for the shooting. I completely agree that shots go straight on many occasions and yes, the direction is OFF. This is quite an issue, however it was exactly like this in pes 11. Oh and try the R2 placed shots, they work really well. ;)

So the folks who don't like the passing are you on 0 assists bars? That is all I've played since the demo and have no issue with the passing. At times my pass will over shoot or go behind a player, frustrating but I put it down to my mistake. So if you aren't playing on no assist try that, also use the L2 manual pass

if you are talking about my IQ then you are wrong

I'm yet to see evidence to suggest otherwise. You still can't seem to comprehend that people like something that you dislike. Nor that some people aren't experiencing the same issues as you. It really isn't that difficult to comprehend, nor does it require much intelligence.

I'll try to put it in simple terms for you. If I'm walking down the street and someone gets mugged, and I don't see it, it doesn't mean it didn't happen.

If you want me to expand on the liking/disliking theory further, take one of the best TV shows ever made, Lost. By the end of it some people didn't like the direction it took and thought it got sh!t, Some people loved the direction it took and thought it was still great. So who's right and who's wrong? I'll answer it for you. NO ONE! You need to grasp this concept or we'll end up going backwards and forwards. Just accept the fact that I and others enjoy the game and do not think it is broken or a bad game, just like I have accepted that you think otherwise.

I notice you're a PS3 user. I'm on 360, and I don't get that problem. I'm honestly not bs'ing, I don't experience half the issues people are complaining about. I don't even get that stutter run that some 360 users are getting, however I did get it on the demo, which I deleted and reloaded and that probem dissapeared. I'm honestly starting to think that there is a batch of good discs and a batch of bad discs, and I was lucky enough to get one of the good one's.

Im on Xbox and i dont get many of the issues either. It certainly is weird!

I don't expect a glitch free perfect game. Ive stated in other threads that I enjoy this game despite its flaws.
Also, I haven't experienced the problem everyone else is having adapting to the new defending system as I've always defended using positioning and not just holding the x button. Its not a matter of getting better, I don't exactly do badly. Its not like its an issue only prevalent in PES2012. Its also not even a problem with it just making it too hard, as it also annoys me when it is quite obviously working in my favour.
I don't want to win a race because I'm on steroids, or find it harder because everyone else is and I'm not. It removes the sense of achievement and adds in frustration.
Annoyingly this year, the AI is good enough to offer a consistent challenge that it shouldn't be needed.

Fifa also badly suffers from it.
