Very few players in the world can dribble fast and keep the ball close. The best two obviously being Messi and Ronaldo. Ronaldo is faster with ball, Messi has better close control. But they still dribble too well in the game, it's fun yes, but not realistic. I think the dribbling was actually a bit better last year except maybe too slow.
I know it's is difficult to make a balanced game where players such these are unplayable but the answer is to make the ball a bit less sticky. I like dribbling in PES but the ball has always stuck to players feet too much, when you try to turn quickly and do circles the ball should become loose now and then and the player should loose control. There should be a much bigger difference in speed when i player has the ball and when he doesn't. I have noticed on FIFA that they do the stats system better in that players have a bigger variation between stats. Ie some players have pace 40, some 90, rather than all between 70-90. Eg: In real life Walcott is much much faster than Messi without the ball. I would say 20 difference at least. But Messi has much better close control dribbling and dribbling speed, which is partly because he isn't moving as fast. In my opinion someone like Messi is about dribbling 90 or bit more and someone like Carragher is 30-40. That's kind of irrelevant anyway i think the key thing is it is impossible to dribble with close control at a very high speed. I think you could make it so that when you have the ball you are slow but have good close control and then you are forced to hold the run button to dribble which would make the close control much worse and sharp turns impossible without loosing the ball.
They need to combine the dribbling on a game like KICK OFF or Sensible Soccer with the dribbling of PES. That would be game!
