Quick question.

I know you get skill levels in FIFA so I had a done a Google search and found out that you get level 1 at 500 skill points, level 2 at 600 skill points etc. I decided to check where I can see my skill level but I couldn't, I presumed that it was because I was just short of 500 points. So I played 2 games and won both (The first guy quit after going 3-0 down at half-time) and went to the Player Hub to check how much points I now have. I now have 506 skill points but I can't see anything that actually tells me my skill level.

Anyone willing to help this fucking idiot out will be much appreciated (that includes positive rep. ;) )

I shall now continue to playing some more matches. :)

You mean you just got the game and aren't very good? It's not too difficult to defend against Eto'o, Henry and Messi. I think you will find that it should be a testing task to defend against three of the best attacking players in the game, however to say it's not worth playing is utterly ridiculous. I'm not particularly special and I can keep a clean sheet against Barcelona with the likes of Manchester City, Sampdoria and Udinese.

Fifa is certainly the most realistic football simulation available on next-generation consoles, that is all I'm looking for I am not bothered whether the game is called Fifa or PES, as long as it's authentic in its gameplay.

It is not impossible to play a quick passing game, the power bar actually makes it far easier to do so, as passing is more accurate. I might suggest that the reason you can't play a fast passing game is because you're choosing to play as lower-league clubs who rarely do play a fast passing game.

I found that staying back and holding the trick/Ltrigger button(360) slows the fast players down. Eh, My problem now is this first touch. It's always very poor. :fplm:

Cheers Phatmann. I usually play BAP online so I will probably notice it. I've just started to play more ranked matches as my first 2 I lost when I could barely play the game. That's 3 games I have played now (the 2 I mentioned above) and won all of them. That last game I was winning 6-0 just after half-time with the opponent having 2 defenders sent off before quitting. :D

Loving it now but I think it is going to be quite annoying if they are all going to quit if they get pumped. :(

Yea I went through a phase of hammering about 6/7 guys in a row and they all quit, started to do my head in!

I think on your player HUB or online leaderboards your skill level is displayed...

at the online lobbies screen there's a lobby for people at level 99, surely impossible to reach that? I think I'm level 3 or something and I'm ranked about 2000 odd.

Quitters are starting to piss me off on this game aswell. I've had 2 good beatings on this game so far. One was a 6-1 defeat to a guy on my friends list from an everton fansite when i'd just bought the game. And some jammy bastard managed to beat me 5-1 today despite me controlling most of the game. Everything he hit went in, annoyong as fuck but i don't see the need to quit. I just gave the lad a rematch and reversed the scoreline, lol. Should of been 6-1 but the keeper pulled of a great save.

Just finished a game there were i won 8-0 and fair play to the lad, he didnt quit. I've had wankers turn the game off when i've been 1-0 up for fucks sake. I just don't see the point if you're guna quit every time you're losing.....it's only a game man.

Amen. The most sensible things I've read on this site now for a few days... also, they're not just 3 of the best attackers in the game, they're amongst the top 10 in the world! And it's not impossible to defend against them you just have to learn how, I find that the 'jockeying' feature is essential for me online when playing against the likes of Messi, Ronaldo etc - because without it they just cruise past you , but using jockeying you can easily read their movement and outsmart them!

I bet if you wrote some of that stuff on another thread you'd be branded a FIFA fanboy, ridiculous.

The reason that playing a fast passing game might be hard with shit lower league teams is simply because the players aren't capable, whereas with top teams you can easily play a slick passing game.

I know, the attitude of the majority of posters on this forum is beyond ironic. It's nice to know that certain people have a sense of reasoning. I also feel too many people want instantaneous gratification from a game, the whole point is that it should be difficult to defend against good strikers and it should be difficult to play excellent free flowing football... if it was easy, what is the point of it?

There is a Fifa thread on a PES forum because there is the demand and interest for one, it's hardly surprising to discover that gamers interested in PES are also interested in Fifa.

Konami and EA Sports might be competing but as a gamer I am entirely indifferent to each company. In no way are either my enemy regardless of which game I'm currently playing, if you feel that strongly about a company then you're rather immature. When I joined the forum I did love PES2, though it was the game that I loved not Konami... just because they release a further game each year with the same name does not demand my continued affection. Up until the advent of the next generation consoles PES was the more realistic game, however on the PS3 and Xbox 360 Fifa and PES have exchanged roles.

I love football and therefore I'm looking for the most realistic simulation, the name of the company on the front cover is irrelevant.

I found that staying back and holding the trick/Ltrigger button(360) slows the fast players down. Eh, My problem now is this first touch. It's always very poor. :fplm:

If you're first touch is continuously letting you down, the likelihood is that you're passing the ball far too hard. You don't need to put too much on the power bar for simple, normal passes; halfway should suffice. Any more than that should only be used for longer passes or when you're perhaps playing a riskier ball and are concerned over interceptions.

Quitters are starting to piss me off on this game aswell. I've had 2 good beatings on this game so far. I couldn't agree more, if you beat me... well done. I can't believe the number of quitters there are online, it's undeniably ridiculous.

We should do some online BAP matches together, us in central defense; a Alex McLeish - Ronald Koeman kind of thing :D

Of course I'll score a scorcher of a free-kick; and right after that make a couple of mistakes to bring the score level again.

I got spanked 7-0 last night. :chanlaugh: Manchester United v Manchester City (Me)

Rooney kept tearing me apart because the bloke knew how to use the first touch & my shit defending.

I'm more of a Full Back myself. :D

I got sent a message by a random guy on Xbox Live (xbox-star.com) that you can go there and join BAP teams.

I have played as Classic XI, England and Liverpool - I still don't think the passing is crisp enough - another factor I think for this is that the ball slows down a lot more than it should (although in PES it's overdone).

I admit the passing is better than it is in the Euro 2008 game, but I still don't think it's the game's best point at all.

You can love PES without being blind to the positive aspects of rival games.

how the hell could you get it for £23!!?

this FIFA Interactive World Cup thing is interesting... however I really don't understand how the rankings work! there's a guy ranked in the top 10 who has like 24 wins and 16 losses... then there's a guy ranked about 90th who has 25 wins and 0 losses, so how does it work?

Perhaps (a stab in the dark) they count how many goals you have scored as well, no yellow cards etc. towards your score.

I just checked out the leader's 'EA HUB' and his average goals per game is like 3.27 and conceded 1.45 or something similar, but the average level of his opponent is only 1, so it seems strange to me that he's top. because he's not THAT good...

I still don't think anyone answered when I asked before, but does the weather ever change? I don't mean from Dusk to Overcast etc, but does it ever rain or snow?

also, anybody created Ronaldo (R9) by any chance?

My copy will arrive tomorrow. I have a question. How do you set up the camera angle to be on Wide like in PES?

Ok. Thanks. I can't wait to try it out.

By the way, does anyone know whether the Game Saves are region locked? I can't be arsed to collect the points to unlock the 3rd kits.
