Not comfortable with the 'Finesse Shot' being L2 though really. Also, you forget to switch 'Player Pressure 2' with 'Slide Tackle' :)circle: and :square:).

Trouble with me is, because it's in my mind that I'm playing Fifa, I automatically think to do the opposite of what feels natural so it's kind of natural for me to ignore what comes naturally on Fifa no matter what buttons I change now. :fplm: Oxymoron?! I dunno. I'm sure I'll get used to it - well hopefully; because I can see myself really enjoying the game.

That really confused me! haha

Got mine coming in the post, can't wait to win the league with my beloved Huddersfield Town! Lets face it, it isn't going to happen in real life ;)

There has been a lot praise for the game, but I think most of the people who have been impressed by it have the PS3 version. Am I right? Does anyone have the Xbox360 version and is it as good?

i have it on the 360 as i prefer pes on the ps3 and i must admit i am really liking it. last years was ok but unresponsive compared to pes but they have tightened it up a bit this year and it's made it much better. i still prefer pes but if you can forget for a minute you have ever played pes fifa makes for a really good game of footie. the be a pro season is sucking away all of my time at the moment so i can't wait for be a legend with my own face, why can't fifa add the tiger woods gameface?? i think it would be the icing on the cake

I have it like that on PES.

Which of you FIFA owners won't be getting Pro Evo as well? I know Dan and Mike will get both, but the rest of you? I'm still undecided on which to buy (certainly not both). I guess it hinges on the Konami lag.

I have FIFA, and plan to get Pro Evo. Sold four games to finance this, since I'm a poor student...

I'm not sure if you've changed your buttons but I press :circle: at volley height.

Practise by flicking the ball up in the loading screen.

I still don't have a clue aiming freekicks on this. :fplm:

Nor me.

It's more luck than judgement for me. With penalties, I quickly found out (I say quickly, it took me 4 pens in an online match to actually direct one) you hold the direction first, then power up. Anyone know if this is the case for FK's too?

Depends if you want curl on them too (with the left-analogue).

The penalties are fucking quality though - the choice of being able to chip the ball, place it or smash it on pens is another superb feature they have over PES.

I only got this today, played four games and I'm quite impressed with, however, it still doesn't have the addiction factor, I got bored after three games, whereas, I usually play PES for a lot longer and sometimes play 8 to 9 games per session.

If you want to practise free kicks and penalties, I found out if you press right or left on the D pad when doing the free training thing with Ronaldinho (or whoever) while its loading, you take a free kick or penalty from where the ball is.

And considering I've only heard bad things about FIFA's ball physics, I was very impressed by a penalty I just took: it bounced off the bar, over the line then back into play, a goal being given.

On FIFA 08 it was L1 and shoot for PS3 and LB and shoot for Xbox 360

I've tried that and my player only ever chips it down the middle, which is a tad stupid. No worries though as I love the placed penalty.

It's stupid the lack of a training mode - I want to practise free kicks with an actual wall to beat.

You can only do the chip down the middle.

That's... erm... rediculous!

The whole point in a chip shot is to hit it over the keeper, if he goes the right way. If you chip it down the middle, the only way the keeper's gonna be going the right way is if he stays still. This means he's standing up, on his line. Chipping the ball to a keeper in that position is the simplest catching practise there is!
