It's difficult to tackle, but maybe its just me getting used to the new system.
When you first play the game you can certainly tell there's a new feel to it. I also like the default view too. The interface and presentation is refreshing. Its simple, bold but interactive as well. And at the end of the match, the players have their real faces on in the player ratings menu.
I played 4 games so far and lost all on Legendary. My first game I picked Milan against Marseille and Pato got me 2 goals, but ended up losing 2-3. The others ended up in 2-0 defeats (yes I haven't scored a goal since my first game).
I like the fact that they finally changed the substitution animations, and when I scored a goal they zoomed into Pato's face so I thought it was a nice touch.
It's quite difficult to defend like I said and going forward is just as hard. I thought the same thing to myself in FIFA 11 but then I was still able to do those ping pong passes. Four games into this demo, I've tried doing it and only been successful once. I guess I can say I enjoy the fact that I've lost all my games, it means a good challenge for me.
Oh and the collision thing, its not that bad. Sometimes its exaggerated though. Once I had Silva tackle Valbuena mid air and Silva just spinned 360 before landing on the ground. But I feel its a decent addition because it brings a certain sense of realism. Much better than the previous editions at least.
And finally, in my third game against Barcelona, Messi, Xavi and Villa combined to score a beautiful goal. First coming from the middle, Messi dribbles past my two midfielders, passes it to Xavi who is slightly outside the box on the left side, he does a no-look pass (splits Nesta and Abate) on to the on-rushing Villa from the left who curls the ball into the corner of the goal. Beautiful.
I have enjoyed the game so far and I'm looking forward to playing it more. I'll also give the 2nd demo of PES a go and decide which one I'll purchase. But as it stands (I played the 1st demo of PES).. It's another FIFA year for me.
