How Much Better Would PES 2009 Be If...

Yeah it wouldnt improve the gameplay, but it would add a little flare to the game.

No, I mean game as in the package as a whole. If people are gonna get worked up about shirts not being tucked in, slightly unrealistic keeper gloves, the distance of the crowd from the pitch and the shape of the net, then I think we've got to a very rediculous stage.

Might as well say that the game's lack of option for putting Davids-style goggles on a player, the lack of choices of colours for the radar, and the fact you can't have the Adidas three lines on shirts completely ruins the game.

OR it might be like having a fantastic meal and complaining about the colour of the plate.

No, it is nothing like that at all, so what you're saying is that it wouldnt be nice to have those little feature's in the game ? or should we just have the same feature's every year and not change anything, just recycle the pro evo 09 cover and photoshop robinho's face on messi's head & rename it pro evolution soccer 2010.

All i want is for the gameplay to be like pro evo 4, but if konami said that they were gonna add these new feature's i wouldnt say no.

I'm not saying we should recycle the old game; I'm saying Konami should focus on the main things, like improving the already excellent game modes, adding new modes, and most of all the gameplay. I think the complains people have about the small things are a bit silly, some small tweaks I think would be nice, but some of them are rediculous. Like the distance from the pitch one, that's a fair enough complaint. But untucked shirts is a bit far.

That said, it would be funny to be able to make Cantona's collar stand up on end.

EDIT: and even funnier to be able to make Razor Ruddock turn it down again.

Haha, no worries.

Regarding stadiums, I would find it interesting if we could have a basic stadium editor in the edit mode. I'd make Hillsborough, but give it a giant screen and a FECKING ROOF!

I think a basic stadium editor is a great idea for PES 2010. You can create a whole world in Far Cry 2 so why can't you add another tier or a brand new stadium in Masters League yet?

It would make ML more interesting too as you could spend money on building a new stadium and make money by having more fans paying each week, but only if you were successful on the pitch. It would be a gamble as to whether to risk expanding the stadium or staying in a small ground.

Yeah, that'd be fantastic; and you could change ticket prices to try and entice as many fans as possible - for big games you may as well boost the price, etc.

You should check it out, try and get some videos of it in action or something....tis a very good editor

I think ML would work better with that sort of system. Rather than just get points for winning and drawing it should be on gate receipts. So the more successful you are on the pitch the more fans turn up and the more revenue you make.
Then you would have to spend it on weekly wages for the squad, and anything left over could be spent on bringing in new players or improving the stadium, which would cost, but ultimately bring in more revenue with more ticket sales (As long as you were near top of the league or it was a big game). It would make for a far more realistic and in depth ML in my humble opinion.

'fraid not - I dispise American football.

How does it work?

It's very simple. You basically pick a field type and select from a range of pre-built stand types for each section. There is additional options for lighting and roof amongst other things. All can be colour coded.

To 'build' a decent looking stadium takes no more than 10 minutes, but the variety of shapes/styles does make it interesting to see what abhorrances you can create.

It's not perfect, but it's the best I've seen on a non-mangement oriented game.

That sounds very much what I'd hope for - still, best not dwell on it too much, or I'll just be too disappointed when its not on PES2010.

I think the small things I mentioned at the start would IMPROVE the game more than the big things mentioned above.

Also, I posted these smalls things because I don't think they would be impossible for comarmy to implement in a PES 2009 update.

What ever happened to Asia. Ten years ago American games sucked, now look at the gaming world.

Asia = Talent + Lazy Bastardos!
America = Money + Brains!
Europe = Good Looking People Like Me!

To be fair Sheephead, your suggestions would only change the aesthetics of the game and little else. I think the Masters League needs a total overhaul wich would make PES 2010 a much fresher game.

PES09 would be better IF:

* If the movements weren't mechanic and rigid and unnatural. More Directions would also make it much better and less one-dimensional.

* If the game offered an Alternative to the old R2 "pass and move", the game should have variations for off-the-ball runs, and only having the R2 "pass and move" makes the gameplay one-dimensional.

* If it offered new Stats and Special Abilities capable of adding some much needed depth to the gameplay. For how many years exactly has PES used the same exact Stats and Special Abilities?? Shouldn't we see some progress by now?

* If it had better AI, which should always be a priority.

* If the Editing Mode was better than before.. instead of worst or just as good.

* If the Com could manage to score good goals on a more consistent basis.. The amount of goals product of GK spills and corners is unrealistic, and in many cases easily predictable.

* If the commentaries where any good.. good comments that follow the gameplay realistically, that can add something to the gameplay experience.
