Hey iron, I can show you some tweaks to enjoy FIFA better.
We can play few matches if you want.

Couldn't get into fifa at all so i returned it. Pes isn't fantastic but i still get enjoyment from it. There isn't anything else out there anyway. Hopefully pes 13 will be better.

I would like that. I am completely blinded on how to find anyone on line or much of the menus (can't find manager mode for instance). But I do see your name already in my FIFA (where you scored a goal in something like 15 seconds) so maybe it is easy to link up.

now, if I could only get out of the habitat of hitting the start button to skip the replays that are no longer there. i keep sending myself to the menu.

I have tried Fifa last year and I enjoyed it at first. It's just that somehow Fifa bores me after a month or two, while PES (beside it flaws) keeps me entertained more. I do feel that if PES 13 doesn't sort a lot of the flaws PES12 has, I might try Fifa again.

FIFA, for me, isn't all that.

Once you get past the initial wow factor of the passing animations and ball physics, the game becomes a repetitive grid like chore. Once you 'get it', and it may take around 10-20 games, the games will pan out almost exactly the same. You'll almost certainly have to change the slider settings, which in itself becomes a mini game, and you WILL end up screaming as stats make hardly any difference.

It's also the same goals scored over and over again. Personally, I really can't see the love for this game. PC modded PES is the way to go for me.

Now I know what you guys mean by the game has no soul. I think I might just get rid of it by next month. Every team plays the same!

So I played about 5 Fifa games today... dude, what's wrong with me. Then I went back to PES and after playing a few good players online, I came to this conclusion:

Fifa is like a stupid girl with huge boobs, you know. It looks fucking awesome at first but then you get to see how it really is. Repetitive, boring, buggy...

You get bored of dumb women with huge boobs? :erm:

Can't imagine what that'd be like...

I do too, but I just want another dingy broad with huge boobs to take her place.

See I still played about 5 games. :p Dumb women with huge boobs are only good for about a night or so...

Guys, NEVER underestimate the potential of dumb women with much breastage. Life is too short to miss the pillows of eternal amusement.

Back to FIFA now though eh? ;)

Big boobs are just for fanatical teenagers. I prefare nice perk handfulls. Anyhow what was that about fifa?. Used to love ultimate team. Hows that play these days?. Always thought single player was wank and boring, But the online modes (Online clubs etc) were great

Big boobs are for men who appreciate their women curvy, e.g in this instance men who like their football games to be well rounded, i.e normal. You look at the wonderful cleavage of an attractive woman and know instantly something that good has to be unavailable. So it is when you look at PES and FIFA, they may look good but anything inherently decent within is seemingly missing ... or to complete this rather silly analogy ... unavailable.

The major problem I see with Fifa that some people cannot see is that it blinds you with good animations that it sometimes makes you forget about it's flaws. But not me. That doesn't work on me son.

Also, Fifa "APPEARS" to have less frustrations and glitches when compared to Pes. Combine that with the good animations and flow and it's a very good reason for people to fall for it. The only MAJOR downside to this is that Fifa's flaws are so fundamental and deep that no patch will ever solve them because Fifa doesn't even have the basic idea of how football is played.

I mean, where in the world do you see the 1vs1 situations that fifa presents all the time? You rarely see them, but fifa is played like that and you cannot avoid it. What I mean by this is that the game is programmed for 1vs confrontations with keepers vs attackers and attackers vs defenders. There's no teamwork in defending at all and if you try to do team work, YOUR AI controlled players will simply move out of position to allow 1vs1 confrontations.

That alone for me is a huge, huge fundamental game breaking thing.

Oh, but it does not stop there. The AI in general is horrendous and the CPU AI stat boost is evident with stupid force fields surrounding his players that you can't even go near them from time to time. Then you have another game breaking issue. No individuality.

Oh but again, it doesn't stop there. No. The whole game is based around strength and speed, especially strength. In fifa, it doesn't matter how high his defensive attributes are because his strength attributes are what decides whether he takes the ball or not. That's just madness.

And for the last bit ;) . The attacking patterns are so, so similar, all the goals scored are similar, there's no variation and all the teams play the same.

Unless EA, change the game from the beginning, Fifa will always stay as it is and no patch can fix that because the flaws it has are so fundamentally deep.

Don't take me as a Fifa hater BTW. All I stated in this post was the truth for everyone bright enough to realize. :D

I'm really impressed with the PES 12 demo, and bought it on the release day... Played it for few month until few patches after that IMO ruin the game. And than earlier this year sold it and bought FIFA 12...
Like it very well, the player movement, advantage rule, quick free kick, quick throw in, A.I. dribbles, game stop when there is serious injury, etc. really impressed me.
Played it until this month, something went wrong with my style of playing (due to a week break, bored maybe) I can't even win a single match in Pro level... then I realized that I always played with the same style, which result in similar goals.. and similar pattern can be seen from the A.I. side.
Currently playing Winning Eleven 2011 (Yes 2011) since that the only PES/WE series that I have, and suddenly all type of goals start coming back.. maybe due to poor goalkeeper ;p .. Maybe I'll just stick to this version untill next PES 13 arrive.
My favourite football game this gen is FIFA World Cup 2010, game fluidity and gameplay is the closest game that resemble PES during PS2 era IMO. Just lack of club teams forced me to buy new football game.
I'm using PS3 btw, so nothing much can be improved via 3rd party patches.

^ Exactly right.

And like Shaun said it isn't FIFA bashing, Jesus I wish FIFA was brilliant this year. But I just cannot understand how people cannot see the flaws in FIFA, which are just horrendously game-breaking. At least PES hits you over the head with a wet fish and says 'here I am, take me or leave me'. Everything Shaun said just gets highlighted every single time I try and get some love out of the game; for me there is no love for FIFA this year. The last time I played I had some 67 rated Man Utd striker scoring a hat-trick against me using his 'pace' and 'power' (statistically slower than star signing Chiellini and less powerful by about 20 points, but that doesn't matter).

^ I don't believe anyone in any of the pre released posts on this thread haven't said FIFA is flawless. This thread has been fueled by a handful of PES players who wanted a different game experience, not officially a better one, but a different one. In my short two days with FIFA, I can say that I like PES better, but I sure have enjoyed fair GK kicks, fair Defensive clears, and fair headers that simply don't go to the CPU time and time again as does with PES. That is my biggest beef with PES, ad nauseum; so much so that I was beginning to dislike it.

I knew what I was getting into when I picked up FIFA Sunday night, in terms of all its criticisms, but that was a long awaited move after getting ill over unfair clears, or watching the ball ricochet off of me to a CPU player over and over (yet the CPU handles these these touches with ease). I can't clear a defensive corner without being attacked immediatley but I can't seem to capture the ball on the CPU clear to be able to attack - rather it floats to a CF in stride. Sunday afternoon I had enough.

A quick question for you players of both PES2012 and FIFA12 (I know there is a thread for this but this one is moving along so thought I might as well post here).

Is there a counterpart in FIFA12 that compares to PES off the ball control to move offensive players on a forward run? If so what is the control?
