I've owned every Fifa game on every console and PC. At its the same thing every year. Find that one way to score and never lose.
I've played FIFA09 with my bother and there is NO major differences then 08. Its the same game (as EA does with all their sports game, 3 years of the same crap and then a small change).

Fifa may be more in depth as EA is the biggest game publisher on the planet, but i find any EA game on its maximum skill level still to easy as that one way to score works on any level.

I've never played FIFA lol. I was a HUGE FIFA fan until my friend told me to try PES5, and since then FIFA has been a major disappointment year in and year out to me, so much that I won't bother buying FIFA09.

FORZA you talk shite
what about last year pass it to the left back long ball over the top angle the shot.......goal

every fucking match

fifa this year plays alot better than last year
pro evo this year plays a lot better than last year

I totaly agree with ya points dude. The only problem is, Pro Evo aint changed 1 bit from last years game in all honesty. Apart from being a tad slower. Whereas FIFA has come on leaps and bounds over the last 2 years. That is what I want to see from Pro Evo... something revolutionary. But I just don't see it happenng.

You didn't answer my question.
I don't know what football you people watch, but FIFA is completely arcadish in movement at how fast the ball and players move.

Again I'll ask:

What does FIFA09 have over PES09 minus the bugs from both games?

IF they were flight sims, fifa would be a BA 747 flight simulator and PES would be the Afterburner arcade game....

The thing that is starting to bug me in PES 2009 is the slow response. Since the game was slowed down (which i dont mind and prefer), the players seem to response slower to passes (which shouldn't be the case, that should have stayed the same). This really hampers the game if you are playing with medium to bad teams. They really suck response whise (too much to be realistic). Now this may just be for the PS3. Maybe the PC is better in these aspects.

I'll wait and see what the US release feels like since they always seem to make that version faster than the EU version.

WTF does PES2008 have to do with PES2009?

FIFA for the past 15 years has been the same crap. Do you want to start going through the similarties between every fifa game made?

If you people don't like PES2009, GTFO off this forum. Its PES Gaming. Not PES Bashing, not FIFA Is Better.com. If you all want to suck EA's nuts I suggest you all move to Vancouver where ALL their sports games are produced.

Stop bitching cuz its gonna get you people no where, go play FIFA and stay of a board that doesn't belong to that specific game.

If they were alcohol's FIFA would be a cocktail while PES would be a 40 year old Scotch.

What a stupid analogy.

How is thread still even open on this site?

Every forum thread, in the history of the world ever, always degenerates into a slanging match. Not an argument, a slanging match. Thats life!

There are issues with Pro Evo, but then there are excellent things as well. No game can ever be perfect (except Sensible World of Soccer) but I think Pro Evo is damn good. And I realise that this is the post for saying PES is crap, but its 00:39 and I'm bored watching bloody Chelsea annihilate Sunderland!

2009?????, Whats gone wrong.

I can not say i don`t like PES, just shocked at how poor, the game has become. I used to buy both PES and Fifa versions. From 2002 - 2006, PES was the clear winner, then FIFA released 2007, and suddenly i realized FIFA was going in the right direction(proper gameplay), But this years fifa gameplay is rubbish. So back to the best gameplay, game for football, and to my shock its got so poor. PES was all about gameplay, with a basic manager mode, plus a couple of other options which was enough. Now we have gimmicks, with the gameplay affected.

What has happened to passing. Before you new when you pressed the pass button, depending how long the button is pressed the ball travelled. Now you do not have a clue, Tap the button the ball will go short, next, tap the button the ball will go long. It does not matter if the player is full strength or has no strength, its more a lottery.
One minute the pass goes in the direction the stick is pressed, occaisonally a few degrees out, the next it will almost travel 90 degrees in the wrong direction. I would rather my pass be intercepted than go in a totally wrong direction.

Players making runs when attacking, Half the time they are running in the opposite direction. In the past a good build up, finish off with a goodthrough ball and your player would run onto it, or be off-side if you left it too late, now you don`t know which direction they will run, even though you have edited the player to run in the direction of the opposition`s box.

Opposition players with the ball running straight through you, i had to look twice, Yet you run into any player even the ref and you are more likely to lose the ball(possible bug)

Curser has alife of its own, eventhough the manual says you now have total control. Even the settings have been changed so i have total control, it still it jumps about. This would be fine, by why 40% of the game, its the player further away from the ball. yet you have 2 nearer the ball and by the time you clik to change the player its too late.

Goalkeepers are just rubbish. Decision making has been removed and its more about luck, especially your own.

Invisable wall around opposition players, your players stopping running, to the point of no movement even though they are cursered and you are pushing the direction stick. This used to be a free roaming game. Letting you make a decision, sometimes you got it right sometimes wrong. Now there are limitations, why.
Maybe the game design team felt it became too easy even on the hardest level, but that should not mean placing restrictions on your players or maybe the team did not work so hard on the PC version, i just cannot understand it.

Just one thing that stand out for me in a good way are the graphics(after playing on PS2 anything is better). But thats it what a shame.

Maybe a few patches over the year, may help iron a few problems out, but i dou`t it.

I still think pes6 is ahead of pes 9 in terms of gameplay. The passing etc for me is superior. As is the online play.
Seems now you can kick off and just run the ball and score.

As for the tackling!!!Its nearly foul city everytime.

Been a fan since the ISS days but losing patience now.

an extremely boring pattern

Lets be honest...In the past you just bought the game and a couple of games in you noticed the enhancements..

Now a couple of games in you notice the weaknesses. And there are quite a few.:fplm:

We are all entitled to our opinion.

55 QUID QUALIFIES ME TO MOAN ABOUT THIS ONCE GREAT SERIES.

Im actually really enjoying PES 2009. Is it just me or does noone else seem to realise that this game is rewarding of genuine attacking ability. In 2008 it was too easy to jink through an entire defence but now you only score if you your passes and crosses are perfect. Its much easier to defend now and you get a real sense of controlling a pair of centre-backs that can cut out the opposition. Also, Keepers dont parry it out to strikers for soft goals anymore!

Don't know, I still find it easy to dribble around the entire squad and score with my BAL Legend (he's 20). This does not happen too often, but I am able to just use the d-pad and dribble around players. And yes, I play on top player.

Keepers are still dumb. Crossing I agree with (which is good), passing is still the same (which is also good).

P.S. Fifa's gameplay response is way to slow. You press the button and it takes forever to pass, shot, etc

I personally like the game but after playing it since release the keepers still have their problems. They are better than 08 but they still parry some horrible shots (A few ended at strikers feet).

Konami still seem to have a problem distinguishing dangerous shots from easy ones. It seems like 5-10% of the time the goalies will parry a shot that they could have easily scooped up. They do that legs out / arms out dive off a middle shot and parry it front, left, or right. I've had one of these easily scoopable shots deflect off the keepers knee and in (I stepped away from the PS3 for a bit it was so bad).

I'm starting to see a trend in some of these parrys. If there's an offensive player very close to your keeper (7-12 feet away) he will, 90% of the time, parry a SLOW pace shot from the striker (Lets say striker was being pressured and trickle off a slide shot or slow diving header). I've even noticed that shots from inside the box, no matter what the pace, are parried most of the time.

Konami should make the pace of the shot the deciding factor when parrying shots. This proximity / inside the box stuff is causing the keepers to parry too much.
