On the flipside though, the summer release of a game can tell them where they are on the way to making the new FIFA.
Euro 2008 got, on the whole, positive reviews, so once they built from there, they knew they were on to a winner with FIFA 09.
Having said that, I have no doubts about FIFA 2010 being a great game.

First things first, they need to get back all the options and features they've taken out since pes 6 (ps2). Once they've done that then they should make a new engine, rehaul the graphics, get new inovitive commentators and improve their presentation i.e. Menu's, pre game stuff.....

I dont buy it, especially after all the stuff you said earlier.

Once again, angry, frustrated and completly fed up with a game which is getting worse each year. I hope it is just the pc version that is poor rather than the console versions.
i would not bother writing anything but after 2 games playing AC Milan, not only do i find multimillion pound players who cannot pass, shoot, or not making intelligent movement, there is no point in me spending my time setting up how i want my players to move when attacking or defending, because they just don`t do it. Half the time ifs as if i have just started a season in master league, with a bunch of rubbish players.
God knows what they have done to Kaka, movement poor, control of the ball well you can forget about that, he would not be worth even 2 pounds if you went by his ability in this game.
Why has all the realism gone out of this game.
Its almost as if (and i do not like comparing with fifa, but) forgetting gameplay and realistic players skill/ability, etc based on the real players which were always the main reason why pes titles were bought in the past and instead having more gimicks.
The difficulty level is just a joke. Its almost as if they cannot be bothered to make the computer controlled opposition more difficult when increasing the level of difficulty they have just decided to reduce ability of the players controlled by the human, in other words the higher the diffculty the worse the players gets

Players stopping for no reason. In past games i lost count the amount of times i was offside now i am lucky if i am once, which says everything about the lack of attacking. In previous games i would preset my wingers to attack so if i did not realease the ball in time they would be offside, now they run to you, limiting the space and i more than likley to lose the ball.
There is more but i am now calming down and cannot be bothered.
But as i said at the top, hopefully these problems are just because its the pc version so not much effort has gone into it.

Well.. You don´t have to.. I have been talking with beyond and followed his guide how to play it, than gived FIFA one more try and finaly start understnad how to play it.. If there was proper guide by EA, than it was different story already..
FIFA is better game, if you are single.. But if you would like to invite some friends which not playin much, than PES is better.. Goal scoring is looking a bit wierd in FIFA especialy first week or two.. You must learn so much staff to make it look like football, otherwise it is not looking like that.. Also, the difficulty level must be on Legend, otherwise most of the goals coming from wing breakaways.. If i look at this now, there is no realy big difference what i used to say.. + I have found some more faults of this game.. Weather and night in Manager mode is well shame.. Why did they make such a stupid fault..
And the second but much bigger fault is accuary of passing.. I feel that there is no realy big difference between guys with good passing ability or bad ones.. Even, when i played for swansea, passing was still hundered percent perfect.. I was try to change it for semi but it is still same.. I don´t like idea of manual in this one, couse that should be stat of the player not yours.. But it is matter of prefference.. (Well i would like to have it there as the option). Also in Manager mode another thing is, that there are so many nice stadiums which are pretty close to the ones in Prem League, why the other weaker teams like Sunderland should play on generic one, if there is some other closer to them? Yes, i am talking about editing.. But still i have to say that FIFA is much better game, when you playing alone or on the live.. For tournaments with your father, friends and everyone is better PES..

That's precisely my point on FIFA09, I have played it a handful of times, I only play it on manual.. and like you said I just do not feel Enough of a difference between great passers, good passers, and poor passers.
The Realism of the "Simulation" goes right out the window whenever Shauwn Wright Phillips starts passing the ball like Riquelme.. on a consistent basis.
That said, I do think that all the Passing from now on should be "Manual" or a lot more independent. Whilst at the same time being heavily assisted by the STATS and the COM.
Passing on PES09 is quite boring IMO, the direction and pace of the pass is excessively assisted by the COM. And like in FIFA09, I do not notice enough of a difference between passers like Riquelme and passers like Thierry Henry.
Passing haves a lot to do with Tactical Movement.
I have never felt enough of a difference in "Passing Ability" in any Football Sim to date. There just isn't enough of a difference in the passing. If I'm using Riquelme I would like to feel that, although I cannot beat defenders on pace, I do have plenty of options with Passing the ball or Shielding and keeping hold of the ball.
But that isn't the case in PES09. Riquelme feels just like everybody else in the game, giving the same one-dimensional passes, the same tricks, same animations, etc, etc..
I think Konami got so focused on what "FIFA was doing" that they forgot what PES was all about. PES was the game with the most amount of Stats (Attributes) and Special Abilities, and Some of the Stats actually worked in-game. It also offered 4 different type of running animations for every individual within the game.
Fans noticed this and started making their own tweaks to the game, tweaking with the Stats and Edit Mode, etc, etc.. just getting as closer to Real Football as possible. Making each individual within the game play as similar to their real-life selves as possible.
Problem is that Konami has not included A Single New Stat or Special Ability into PES. The same tricks and animations, worst movements... but I did noticed some useless New Modes such as the "Champions League Mode" and the "BAL".
It seems Konami actually forgot what PES was all about. PES09 plays more like FIFA than the PES of Old, in my opinion.

i think the edit mode is everything in pes if someone wasnt right about the player u could change it and would be happy to do that die hard pes fans wernt botherd about the licences but the gameplay was there and it was the best and u could make the kits and players look to how u want them with loads of accesories and apperences so from tomorro im playing pes 5

For sure, you get next gen gameplay, and the amount of boots you can get on FIFA is crazy, isnt there about 50 different boots, puma, nike, diadora, addias, lotto, reebok etc, plus EA's own custom boots, you dont really have to touch the edit mode.

Yh the amount of boots you get is mental not to mention the amount of balls and stadiums. There's like 50 odd stadiums. The good thing about Pes is the faces.

Faces are better in Pes no question.
I also like the PES celebrations.
Other than that, FIFA kills it, and the thing is, FIFA can improve quite a bit too, scary, im gonna hop on to EA forum at some point soon I think with a very detailed list of improvements.

fifa isnt really an editing game because once u have made changes to players and u start a manager mode and u notice that u want to change a players boots u can do that but once u go back in to manager mode the changes wont be made or any editing u choose u will not see a diffrence in a player unless u start again so thats one of fifas flaws also they have loads of boots for addidas with diffrent colours and reebok but with nike its like they are only allowed 1 colour of boot so the nike lazers u are stuck with the red ones or the vapours only the blue ones i wish they had more coulours for nike as they do for adidas

The main thing imo that Fifa kills Pes in is in Fifa you actually have the ability to not be a powerhouse team. In pes if im not a massive team then the games are dull, lapluster and sluggish. In Fifa some of the best games ive ever played have been Marseille vs Celtic etc. I dont like to admit it but i am one of those people who usually chooses a powerhouse team to win but not in Fifa. In fifa i havnt been a 5* team in god knows how long and its been great. Offline wise i cant believe myself sometimes. I actually enjoy playing random games like Hetha Berlin vs Osassuna. Its crazy. They're really good games and i know for sure i couldnt do that in Pes. Tbh i cant remember the last time i ever played the comp in Pes for fun. In fifa the gameplay is that good i can just play with those crappy teams and still be happy.

I was thinking why is it like that and there might be one posible reason.. If they will be passing as in real, than one match will have to take much longer.. I feel that this stat (Passing accuary) and the other stats also should be depending on the match lenght..
