Honestly I simply cannot fathom the utter joy going on from certain people in the community; for example over at WENB staff members are going WAY over the top (even for that site).

I went over there and one of the staff commented how he was still "reeling" from the excitement of the Ivory Coast kit being skin tight, now I couldn't help but think how stupid he sounds.

Either that or he has expectations akin to an 11 year old kid.

We just need to see more of the in game footage, but everyone getting hyped about that wide camera angle as if its an innovation, has this 'broadcast' camera been in previous versions of pes? its deffo in fifa and does pretty much the same thing im sure. I'm sure this game will be an improvement over previous versions (if i had to guess) but i dont see anything earth shattering just yet, but maybe its the small touches that make the game.

What I wanna know about is the passing, hopefully there is a power bar for all passing, not just manual.

Also, I can't see how one can say it's the same as pes 10 or it's miles better that pes 10.
You cannot conclude anything so far. If the passing and collision systems and freedom are there like the article explained, then you have to play it to see it. And that video footage is just a footage from a normal video cam. That's not conclusive enough. It can vary the framerate which overall can make the game appear in a different pace and the graphics and animations won't look clear. I just can't see how one can make a judgement on that.
I'll wait and see.

From that article can we choose the speed of play like the ISS days? Seems like it. If so, that's good.

Jinks, feints and dummies – another area that's seen a lot of additions this year and intended to be truly effective maneuvers, rather than just 'showcasing' as in previous iterations - didn't really work well, at least not in the build we played, and there were many instances of players stuttering or being stunned into inactivity after a tackle or jostle. Speaking of jostling, it seemed very one-sided, with the CPU players able to knock us off the ball far more easily than we could return the favor.

Occasionally, the keeper would also become frozen in place, standing motionless and watching the ball sail past him into the back of the net; another annoying bug that we're confident will be addressed.


Oh dear. Not much time left before the game must be finished.

I also want it in pes but not too extreme. Perhaps it's extreme. If this is the case, I hope it gets reduced.:)
I hope the other issues are fixed though because that doesn't seem ok.

Eurgh, even I who is on the PES side feels player weight needs to be added properly, as it works quite well in the WC game. The lack of player team jostling compared to the steamroller AI is possibly the biggest failing of the recent games.

On the subject of motion blur though and this won't appeal to all players, but I currently take shots of replays on my digicam. I'd love it if there was a screenshot mode, akin to Fifa and Forza, but with more controls similar to the latter and an online upload service. Little things like that define the next gen as much as anything else.

I havent really followed the impressions just yet, ill try when i get some time, to be honest, im more interested in seeing the game at the moment than hearing others talk about it. Reviewers do tend to talk shit, remember fifa 'best football game of all time ' 10???

That wasnt even the best football game on my shelf let alone best fucking game ever.

That wasnt even the best football game on my shelf let alone best fucking game ever.

There's no football that's come close top PES5. That was perfection right there. I got bored of FIFA10 after the first two weeks.

I think thats the pes where the master league was restructured into what we know now with the inlcuision of european cup competitions, i think it was the 1st pes where the advantage rule was brought in, the first pes that had real kits, i believe the graphics were improved and the gamplay was great from what i remember.

ISS pro evolution soccer on ps1 was another watershed moment, that game was just insane for its time, especially when you compared it to fifa on ps1, the gap was huge, it just had so much playabilty, goal variety, in game atmosphere was good, that game was a bit like the Goldeneye of football games, alot of the standards in todays games arguably come from that game.

Best game on next gen i played is fifa 09, mark my words, in years to come, people will still be harping on about it, for all its flaws, it just played a quality game of football.

yeah I agree with Fifa 09. But I think it will be surpassed, it still has a lack of depth and no individuality. However if it wasn't for Fifa 09. We would still be stuck behind time. EA's superiority has forced Konami to step it up. The old Fifa vs PES will always crop up. But they offer a different experience. Maybe 2011 both will be good for different reasons.

Pes 3 was the biggest improvement in pes history. But pes 5 for me is the best pes ever. It had more depth.
Anyway, I agree to a point that fifa 09 was better than 10 because 10 was over hyped and for that hype it had, it didn't quite deliver. Although, overall it's still a great game.

I am really pleased with the fact that pes 11 will have speed changes that will change from arcade to a more sim type. I hope the sim type will be similar to fifa 10 but with individuality that pes already has.
Here's hoping again.

PES3 was the marquee EVOLUTION moment but PES5 was the series at it's pinnacle imo.

Waaay, waaay too early to make judgments people.

What we have here is a little insecure Konami attempting to say "Ignore that other game, look here, we're first!". A strategic business ply if you will, which they really need to do since that other footie game has just sat on PES and is pounding hard for the last few years.

This time let's not all get boners every time they make an insignificant announcement (i.e: Messi sweats more when his stamina goes down), the one and only thing I expect out of 2011 is revamped AI if thats not fixed then I'll happily prefer the dark side.

I think if the linking annimations were put in along with full defensive controls im sure the journo's would of been alot more enthusiastic.

There are so many positives its hard to keep track of them all. Stuff like that tactic where you can say if were 2-0 up we'll automatically go defensive to stuff like the 360 having option files.
