Getting this game tmrw, but after reading some comments on here, is it really that bad? Some reviews have given it a really high score? Are the slowdown problems really noticable and do they make the game unplayable on the PS3 version?
I've not got it myself yet, but I think people's expectations have been far too high. Since last year's pathetic next-gen version, many people expected this to be the mind blowing game we've been waiting for ever since the 360 and PS3 were announced and all the hype that went with them.
Obviously it has failed to deliver to these expectations, but by no means do I believe that the game will be bad, just like I haven't believed any of it's predecessors were. OK, so lately the improvements haven't been spectacular, least of all because of the step-up in possibilities the new hardware has given them. An excuse could be that Seabass and his team haven't had a lengthy time to adapt to the PS3 system yet, but I believe that's all it is, an excuse. Sure the game should be better, but I will play it, have my annoyances, what game is perfect? Part of the experience is knowing the faults and enjoying the improvements in the next installment. No-one can deny the series hasn't progressed, and perhaps there will be no PS2 version next year, meaning there will be full dedication towards moving things on.
All the moaning about editing is ridiculous, I spent so much time editing on PES4, 5 and 6 it may well be a relief to me that I won't hang around adjusting a club's badge. I will spend more time with the gameplay itself, which besides the 'too fast' complaint, people haven't had much bad to say. Man Red here I come
