I have been supporting Winning Eleven since Winning Eleven 6. I leave FIFA and change to Winning Eleven. Almost all my friends do the same, almost at the same time. We love this game so much. The game is so realistic, and the game play system was a good one. We all love to play Winning Eleven.
BUT, UNFORTUNATELY, We all bought the latest Winning Eleven 2009. To be honest…we are all very disappointed and feel angry. The game just have so many many many stupid flaws.
1) The Passing now is so awful. VERY OFTEN, you can’t even successfully pass to a nearby teammate. WHY? This is very annoying. This is so UNREALISTIC! Sometimes, it give us impressions that all the players in the game are retarded. Can’t even deliver a normal pass. The passing is always not to the direction which you want or it ALWAYS FAIL to deliver the ball EVEN to your nearest teammate. ALWAYS the teammate must run to another direction to pick the lose ball, which is supposed be delivered to his feet!
2) When an opponent player are running down the flank near the line, ALWAYS the AI will automatically send my side back and center back to run towards the opponent player WITHOUT I pressing the square button (team mate pressure)! Why? When we only press X button, and the cursor is on the nearest player to the opponent, Why the other teammate still running to the opponent’s direction like we had pressed the square button?
3) WHY CPU ALWAYS SLIDE TACKLE WITHOUT OUR COMMAND!!!!!??????? WHY?????!!!!!
4) THE Running is so stupid !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WHY AMF ALWAYS not in the position to attack??? When we have the chance to launch a counter attack, ALWAYS, the strikers are standing too far always from all the teammates! Usually, in all the previous series, when we successfully halt opponent’s attack and turn it into a counter attack, we will always play a fast passing game in order to create a deadly counter attack, eg. (just only one of the method) Defender gets ball (near to own penalty box) , pass to DMF or CMF (at center midfield), then from DMF or CMF to AMF (further midfield), then from AMF to striker. All the passing need to be done in very fast way. BUT IN 2009!, ALWAYS! Front line attacking midfielders are always not there, and yet, the strikers are either IN OWN HALF(dreaming, thus not ready to counter attack!) or there is no midfielders at front line ready to receive ball and make the final pass to the strikers!!! The gap between the nearest teammate to the strikers are CRAZY!
5) THE game just stop even when you are attacking AND you already reached the opponent’s penalty box!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OMG!!!!!! I almost THROW my controller!!!! EVEN CRAZY is one time, the opponent’s defender make a stupid pass to my striker, and you know what, the whistle blows! =.=!!!
6) Shoot! Hahaha…… I really can’t believe that even the top striker in the world just always shoot direct to the goalkeeper or ALWAYS SHOOT WIDE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hahahahaha……Sad that Konami make the game stupid rather than develop AI……..
7) CAN ANYONE TEACH ME HOW TO DELIVER A PROPER FREEKICK????????????? CAN KONAMI PLEASE TEACH US??????????????????????????????? PLEASEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE?!!???!!!

We all feel so sad, disappointed, angry. We can’t believe that KONAMI launch a product which have so many flaws.. Believe me, I never complaint about Winning Eleven. We all love Winning Eleven. Thus, we urge KONAMI to really conduct research to your latest WE product, WE 2009. Know the problems and not to repeat in next game! If you would want to know more, if you care, you could just search in this forum to find out more of the problem exists in this game. SERIOUSLY, we are shocked, still unable to believe that KONAMI has launch this game which has so many flaws, which has KILL it’s beautiful and realistic game play. No more fun when we play it.
Please, If you still love us, please don’t repeat same problem. Don’t force your fans to abandon you. We change from Fifa to WE. We can also change from WE to others or back to FIFA, which we really do not want it to happen. Don’t take the fans loyalty as granted.

I find it brilliant that most of the issues that people flair up, I've never suffered with. I find myself drawing the conclusion that Seabass is my guardian angel. When I enter the game shop on the fateful day I am to buy the new edition he swaps the discs to a completely different version to the one most people get. He must visit a few places, as it seems to happen to other people too.

I wouldn't have made my "wise ass" crack if I didn't actually disagree with those points would I? It's just that's a far less tedious way to put my point across, and one that stops me (generally, as you can see this is not the case today) from getting into a disagreement about it.

I also find it ironic that people believe that they take suggestions in the most part from Europe. It shows the small minded world we live in. Japan is clearly the main market for this, and this game is clearly based around what those people want. Think about it, Konami are probably haemorrhaging money, they're not going to pay for focus groups over here, when they can do it in their own country now are they?

We don't care about the license, the club kit. What we really care is the feel of the gameplay. Really, no more fun playing this game, not because of graphic, not because of the original team name or original body kits. BUT because of the gameplay! The FEEL!

Konami's Winning Eleven series is no doubt has the best ever football gameplay all this while. That's why we still buy every of it's new product. But this one (WE 2009), hurt us so much. Now, we don't have the fun like we have in the previous series when we play this game. To us, and maybe to many of the Winning Eleven DIE HARD FANS, this WE2009 already doom. We still play WE 2009, because we still love it. We just don't want to leave it for now. But can the fans hurts for another time?

You can not denied all the flaws in this WE 2009. We just want to voice our concerns and hope Konami don't further destroy the game that we love for so many years. I still play this game. Really. But we hope for a better gameplay than this one.

Anyone know how to deliver freekick? Why? WHY konami make such drastic change? If only change mothods, but still we can learn the new methods, just like in the previous series, often there is changes to deliver the freekick. BUT WE 2009, we tried almost every methods that we can think of, to deliver the freekick.. But...but...haiz.... And The CPU always slide tackle without our command...HAIZZZZ......Really anyone want to say this is acceptable????????

Why do you think your not able to become a defender because the game than needs to compete against it self and guess who will be the favourite when the champion needs to be decided

Konami knows we will buy the game regardless. The only thing they care about is the volume of consumers that will buy the game. The only way of keeping those numbers up is to incorporate the cheats to compete against the consumers, because if consumers find the game TOO EASY WHICH WILL HAPPEN IF THEY CORRECT THE CHEATS THEY WILL LOSE MORE BUYERS BECAUSE OF THAT, THAN THEY WILL BECAUSE OF THE ANNOYANCE OF THE CHEATS..

You see that on mostly every forum and that's what konami is looking at. Because for every person that criticizes the cheats there are 5 more claiming that that person should STFU and that that person doesn't know how to play the game. It's that behaviour that Konami counts on and searches for..and for 2010 I don't expect significant changes ..don't keep your hopes up because they know despite all the gameplay bashing there are still people that are going to buy the game and they will at least break even or make profit..Untill they can't clear the red figures don't expect much....Seabass is making all kinds of excuses while ripping us off...

Apart from 2008, they have improved game upon game. They're not destroying it, but making it more and more realistic.

Well how come I can do it, but you can't? Practice makes perfect, again if you don't want to practice and want it all from the off, go and play Fifa. You need to work with the AI, if you know the computer is going to slide the opposition, take control of that player. I wouldn't have thought that was rocket science.

If you actually bothered to watch a game you would see it's generally not the speed of players that opens the yard, it's a superb touch or a little shimmy. Maybe you need to configure your controller settings if you find yourself not being able to take control of some of your team.

well said i agree with you all the way.
most things people complain about just vanish with enough practice so i don't understand all the complaints.
personally i think the game is great and the graphics are fantastic though the animations could have been better.
the only valid flaw i noticed seems to be the free kicks given away by the AI but i really wonder if that isn't when u push the square button like someone else already suggested so i'm not so sure about that one yet but it's still annoying.

I completely agree with your first paragraph, however if I told you the world was flat (which would be my right would it not?) would you not try and argue the point, knowing you were in the right?

There is a thread for this, and i have made my comments in that thread, but seabass is liar and thats a fact, unless anybody would like the link to the video where he claims he made the stadiums more 'atmospheric' in PES 2009. lmao, hilarious considering the crowd noise and football sound are the some of the worst in any game.

Any then there were his claims about PES 2008 and how good that game was going to be, before doing a u-turn and admitting the game was unfinished and that he'd rather not release it.

Simply, Konami and seabass have sold out pro evolution soccer, the game plays more and more like virtua striker every second, 8 directions of movement and passing in a so called 'next generation' game is just not on.

Put it this way, ive been playing ISS/PRO for nearly 10 years,

I dont anymore and i do believe the game you speak of is outstanding, especially considering the rubbish that company made for years and years.

These things are when your playing ML and you control your whole team you can't expect the same things with BAL when you control one player and the rest of your team is being controlled by an AI that steers them in it's favour

All of the things you describe is what I've been through I've played BAL 16 season's straight so I had my share of training, earing points and grinding. ...Speaking about grinding, earning points ..isn't it completely unrealistic if you sign a big name player that obviously you become after a while and he just won the league, championship and league cup, as well in scoring and became european and world player of the year..yet you start him FROM THE BENCH..not one time but every time you switch to a new team

1. Is it realistic when you get subbed eventhough your the best man on the field
2. is it realistic when the AI attacks 99% from the side and your LB and RB just gave him acres of space or your manager doesn't anticipate
3. is it realistic when your goallie is diving for a ball when it's clear that it's going wide
4.Is it realistic when the AI brakes you in half and no whistle but when you stub the AI's toe you get sent off
5 Is it realistic that although your playing in Italy or Holland you get 75% of matches in rainy weather
6.Is it realistic when you can't get a decent pass to a teammate or when you pass right the ball goes left

Well how come I can do it, but you can't? Practice makes perfect, again if you don't want to practice and want it all from the off, go and play Fifa. You need to work with the AI, if you know the computer is going to slide the opposition, take control of that player. I wouldn't have thought that was rocket science.

Oh please, these cheats you speak of, what a joke. If you actually bothered to watch a game you would see it's generally not the speed of players that opens the yard, it's a superb touch or a little shimmy. Maybe you need to configure your controller settings if you find yourself not being able to take control of some of your team.

Oh please, I counter-act all of these supposed cheats you've mentioned, and still thoroughly enjoy the game. Not to mention the fact if these "cheats" annoy so many people, why the hell are you still buying the game that annoys you year on year?

We keep buying it because we believe Seabass's bullshit about improvement year after year..we keep buying it because we are die-hard fans that are beginning to realize that we have been fooled in believing the improvements would come..we keep buying it because FIFA is not on PES level yet regarding the feel of the game but give it 2 more years and they'll be there..We keep buying it because we can add certain stuff through the option files and patches etc etc and that can't be done with FIFA which gives us some kind of feeling that we "can control a bit of the game"...Hell we buy it because we damn love it and it's because we love it..it hurts to it go down the drain...
and it's been going down the drain for 2 years straight and FIFA is gainig territory...but at a certain point we will stop caring...

Konami can afford to have watchers on every forum because their budget it's not the size of my wallet..we are talking about a billion dollar industry in which Konami has a good size ( do you know what these guys make in digital entertainment??)..but if they smart WHY WOULD they...They could just monitor the most popular/influential ones and have watchers posted there...I think there are only two popular PES sites EVO WEB..this one here ..the others follow suit..
