4.Is it realistic when the AI brakes you in half and no whistle but when you stub the AI's toe you get sent off
5 Is it realistic that although your playing in Italy or Holaand you get 75% of matches in rainy weather
6.Is it realistic when you can't get a decent pass to a teammate or when you pass right the ball goes left

4) THE Running is so stupid !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WHY AMF ALWAYS not in the position to attack??? When we have the chance to launch a counter attack, ALWAYS, the strikers are standing too far always from all the teammates! Usually, in all the previous series, when we successfully halt opponent’s attack and turn it into a counter attack, we will always play a fast passing game in order to create a deadly counter attack, eg. (just only one of the method) Defender gets ball (near to own penalty box) , pass to DMF or CMF (at center midfield), then from DMF or CMF to AMF (further midfield), then from AMF to striker. All the passing need to be done in very fast way. BUT IN 2009!, ALWAYS! Front line attacking midfielders are always not there, and yet, the strikers are either IN OWN HALF(dreaming, thus not ready to counter attack!) or there is no midfielders at front line ready to receive ball and make the final pass to the strikers!!! The gap between the nearest teammate to the strikers are CRAZY!

Turn on the TV, watch a football game and you'll see what happens in counter-attacks. All the defenders are in the penalty box marking and defending. Most of the midfilders are at the edge of the box marking the other midfielders. the strikers are usually waiting for (and are expected to receive a ball in counter attack and make something out of it)

also this game is more ball possession and intelligent runs to open defenses then any previous version.

The game is not easy at first, the changes and modficiations are closer to realy football. its not as easy as the earlier ones, it just needs to get use to.

I feel your frustration, but I do love the new gameplay and once u get used to it, it's addictive.

I am still play this game everyday. Honestly, I don't have problem to play this game. For your information, I play almost every night with friends (we play the exhibition mode, not through on line). I can still have a massive win sometimes (6-0). We bought this game since the first day it was launched. Until now, we still play. We have been supporting Winning Eleven series for so long. It is hard for us to stop completely playing this game which we have love it for so many years.

Anyway, now we play this WE 2009 for one month already, we still play almost every night, but we still can not deny all the major flaws in this game. ESPECIALLY, the AI ALWAYS do the stupid tackle, which is nothing to do with your command. This game just have so many flaws. All of this flaws, often, spoil the game. We have been playing Winning Eleven series for so long. We are not just making stupid judgement. What we say is what we have experienced, not one or two days, but such active plays for one month. Sad, all of us feel dissapointed with this game. We never feel so in the previous series. MAYBE we are childish to feel so?? haha..maybe. But do yo know how many players out there feel the same? The flaws is there!! Very often these flaws kills the beauty, kills the fun of this game! No point for us to argue it.

Some brainless people just will ask us to go play FIFA when we give some bad comments?? Hahaha...how smart they are! Damm smart!!haha....HAHAHAHA.....

I find it brilliant that most of the issues that people flair up, I've never suffered with. I find myself drawing the conclusion that Seabass is my guardian angel. When I enter the game shop on the fateful day I am to buy the new edition he swaps the discs to a completely different version to the one most people get. He must visit a few places, as it seems to happen to other people too.

I wouldn't have made my "wise ass" crack if I didn't actually disagree with those points would I? It's just that's a far less tedious way to put my point across, and one that stops me (generally, as you can see this is not the case today) from getting into a disagreement about it.

I also find it ironic that people believe that they take suggestions in the most part from Europe. It shows the small minded world we live in. Japan is clearly the main market for this, and this game is clearly based around what those people want. Think about it, Konami are probably haemorrhaging money, they're not going to pay for focus groups over here, when they can do it in their own country now are they?

It's like I've mentioned before they are so fixed in trying to make this game worthy to compete with a real life player but they CAN'T TWEAK THE AI AND TAKE CARE OF THE CHEATS otherwise the game will come crashing down..So in order to give us some challenge they cramb in more cheats and make your handling more difficult..that's why you ask yourself what they did with the buttons and some moves this year..

people complain about the passing but when you realise that it's all in the direction you hold the stick in then you can pass all around the pitch which is fantastic because you can build your play up exactly the way you want.
the shooting is also better and i think the weight of the ball is fantastic.
the defending is tricky you really have to pay attention to your defence and correct the players who are creating gaps in the defence but that's what separates the average players from the pro's.
so i agree that the freekicks the AI gives away is terrible but you can work around that so when people say the game is bad the only thing i can say is stick with it because there is no better soccer game around at present time.

I cant see it either, the game is on crack and its very end to end, the computer tends to make about 3 passes to get to your box then its run run run run shoot.

Pes 2009 is the Mc donalds of football games, quick, pre-prepared and leaves a nasty aftertaste.

I am serious, PES09 is shite. I can basically eat whilst playing this game, there's so much Time and Space on the pitch it isn't even funny.

PES6 is a better Football Sim, it Feels fresher even though it seems older to the eyes.

PES6 forced me into Thinking Faster, even when I was 7-0 up, I wanted to score another goal. On the other hand, with PES09 there's so much time and space on the pitch that I can Slowly build my way into an easy 4-0 lead.

After 2 games of PES09 it feels as though I've played for two hours, it's just a boring game with poor "replay value". It Looks the part at times, but never Feels like it.

The Com now decides everything from player positioning to tackles. The Com dictates everything, and we only decide when and how to shoot or pass the ball.

And what about the Defensive Play in PES09, it really looks laughable. It looks and plays like a bunch of children running after the ball as if their lives depended on it.

konami has not added a single New Concept capable of revolutionizing the gameplay. They have merely added new modes and better graphics to an outdated game. In fact, PES09 feels more outdated than PES6.

PES09 is a game that gives you less control over your players, making for a very Scripted gameplay. At times your players might be positioning themselves properly, whereas in other situations your players suddenly don't feel like playing for some reason.

PES09 has been a disappointment for me, you have less control over your players, the gameplay feels even more scripted with countless of "lucky" goals, the gameplay is less responsive, the replay value is poor, this isn't The PES I expected.

Comments like this are really.. I mean, I really fail to understand how some people enjoy playing this better than the PS2 versions of PES6.

Yes PES09 is much better than PES08, huge improvement.. still not as good as the PS2 versions of PES6.

In other words, the PES series has gone backwards since they started producing for Next Gen Consoles.

PES was addictive, now it isn't anymore, neither PES08 or PES09 are addictive in my opinion. PES09 is good for 3 or 4 games, but that's about it.

It doesn't surprises me that so many fans switched over to FIFA.

Course it aint mate, ill be honest, ive played on top players for years, what annoys me about PES 2008/09 is the gay AI robbing me of clean sheets the whole time.

On PES 2008 i won D1 and D2 leagues on Very Hard/Top Player, straight away.

Point is the scorelines were fucking crazy, 6-2's 6-3's and the AI was scoring some ridiculously cheap goals killing my clean sheet, thats what got my back up.

After a few exhibition games on PES 2009 on top player vs Barca it became apparent this shit hadnt changed, i scored from free kick, outside the box, that wasnt the issue. The issue was when my keeper let a tame chipped though ball go underneath him as he dived on it and yet again the CPU gets another cheap equalizer.

And thats not even counting the shitty player animations and speed of the game etc.

Just horrible.

For those who like it, each to their own, I can categorically say it will take konami years to come back from this shit they are in. The game needs a complete re working of everything, from gameplay to music and layout.

But to be honest, they wont listen unless people stop buying this shit.

first things first... you need to put down what console you play on.
if you play on ps2 or pc or something then yes... pro evo will be shit, this is because, rightly so, they put less effort into the game; for ps2 as its an old system thats had its day and it can't handle the technology they use to make the optimum game (ps3, xbox). it also sells a lot less and it means having to apply more resources into this defunct console to make less money??? makes no sense to advance the game for this console. and for the pc, it doesnt sell that well (most people own a console, and yes, i don't care if YOU don't own a console, you're in the minority) and it'll be limited by most peoples graphics card etc... (again, i don't care if you have bill gates's personal pc to play it on, the game can't cater for your system and forget everyone with a lesser system) so anyway again why pump the money and resources into pc when the get less in return.
if you play on ps3 or xbox then you're playing the optimum version of the game and, frankly, your comments about advancements will make more sense as they actually try to advance the game on these consoles unlike others.
secondly, has anyone played fifa? seeing as there are comparisons on this thread.
i downloaded the demo the other day and i really really really wanted to like it. the interface is so much better, that training ground thing is amazing, the shots curve, there's more tricks, THEY HAVE LICENSES!!! but the game play is sooooo shite its unbelievable. yes, pro evo isn't perfect but its still great....
and besides i'll say again what i've said before...
the things you are looking for to make this game what you want (the counter attacking play that was mentioned, the fouling that was mentioned, etc...)

IT MAY NOT BE POSSIBLE TO PUT ALL THIS INTO A GAME

i'm no expert but i imagine making a game with such intelligent AI as this is very difficult and i certainly imagine the programmers are doing it to the best of their ability, which, as far as i can tell, is the best around.
if you genuinely believe you can solve all the problems in the game that you've all been highlighting then please, go to uni, get a degree in computer programming and invent ways and means in which all your problems and improvements can be implemented into the game. then get in touch with konami because i'm sure they would love to hear from you.
otherwise... just wait for technology and programming to advance in such a manner as to make this ultra realistic, superior AI game that you all long for.
