I feel your pain dude. PES09 AI sucks. I was enjoying bal for a while but after couple of weeks I could not take anymore of it. Tried ML and I could not tolerate that for more than couple of games let alone finish a season. The gameplay is just awful, especially the ICE SKATING players. what happened to the solid gameplay?!??!??

I did switch to PS2 and I was amazed at the difference. The AI is much better. The SB and SMFs do what they are supposed to do and go up to support the attack.

Since I only played PES09 on PS3, I have disconnected the whole thing, brought back my PS2 and I'm enjoying it much more. the passes leading up to the goal, the goal itself feels much better.

I'm also putting up my PS3 + pes09 on sale, and No i'm not waiting to see how PES 2010 looks like. I do not find my money hanging on the tree and I don't intend to smoke it either. It's a combination of frustration, anger and disappointment. the game on PS3 is a joke.

Very smart choice..

Maybe wait 2 or 3 years, buy a solid effort from EA or Konami or Someone Else.. and by then a PS3 will probably be almost cheap.

But maybe you should hang onto your PS3, and just sell PES09.

I did buy PS3 back in November (i'm in US) just for PES09. I guess I should have waited. But even when I was reading negative reviews of the game, I thought "no they don't know winning eleven, it can't be" but the reviews were right and the game is horrible.

I don't use the PS3 for anything else. I don't own an HD TV so I can't enjoy blu ray and it is just sitting there. Any one in the US (Boston) is looking for a PS3 80G in new condition don't hesitate to contact me ;)

Get Killzone 2. I'm sure you'll use your PS3 more lol

I also don't use the PS3 for anything else.. just like my PS2, the main function was just playing PES. I just don't have enough time for more than one title.

But to be fair, I do appreciate the high def of a "Blu-ray Disc".

AND... This Year it will be interesting, because Konami needs to react in a positive way. The sales have dropped, and that will surely have an impact on PES 2010. Maybe it isn't the wisest decision to sell your PS3.

This really oughta open up the eyes of Konami, even though they consistently say that the game is great and free of any bugs what so ever.

With the on-going debate about FIFA or PES (I'm currently leaning towards FIFA, although the BAL mode in PES is better) they really need to do something extra for next years title.

I'd be happy if they kept everything as it is, except the current Artifical Intelligence. The PS2 version has, or so I've heard, decent A.I but on every other console (and the PC) it's just plain stupid.

- So what if making a more realistic A.I would make teams like Manchester United dominant in the game. They ARE dominant in real life!
- So what if the difficulty curve would get higher if you're playing a smaller team (ML or BAL comes to mind), we still want the satisfaction of having a set of quality players once we ourselves either sign for - or turn our team into - that top european team that everyone fears.

I played for Arsenal, Manchester United and Real Madrid on my BAL save. Neither of them really felt like top teams while I were playing for them, because teams like Wigan, Hull and Racing Santander outshone my team by miles on many matches.

Richard Dunne is not supposed to be able to outrun Christiano Ronaldo.

Went back to playing Pes 6 on PS2 with my mate the other day to do our Memorial match and the game rocks with a capital R. The different ways you can score, the variet in play etc. Christ what fuking game in history can you really say you'd go back 3 years to play an earlier version because its genuinly funner to play than the current 1.

Well I've already made a huge commitment to Konami when I bought the PS3 ONLY for PES09 and was really disappointed. I don't have anyother games on it. Someone mentioned to buy KillZone2. I wish I did enjoy these games but I tried and I don't like them. Over the last 10 years I had a video game console only for Winning Eleven or PES. I guess time has come to move on.

Someone is interested and I might sell it in a couple of days (fingers crossed). At least I can use the money to pay off credit cards bills or buy a Sony Camcorder hmmm which one will it be? :)

Well as for 2010, I will keep my eyes on the release and I hope it turns out much better, but I won't be rushing to get the game and console in anycase. Maybe 2011? who knows....

im just like you! i got my PS3 about 3 months before PES so i had te get some game to play and i chose GTA IV. when i got PES that was the only game i played untill now, because i also dont like the war designed games. if you do want a different game- take GTA. its much differnt than the other shooting games and it can be very fun for a couple of months untill you finish it.

I would do the same thing.. but I haven't really consider it because I use my PS3 as a "Blu-ray" player.

As for PES 2010, I can easily see myself pissed off with how disappointing PES 2010 turned out to be. And I probably won't buy PES 2010 if it's just another slight update. But at least I'll keep the PS3 as a Blu-ray player.

But if you get a good price, why not?? It will probably be cheaper by 2011.

Bad Company saved Pes 2009's ass for me last year.

This year its going to be Operation Flahpoint 2 that takes the heat of Pes.

Well I found a buyer!!! and I'm currently formatting the PS3 and putting things in the box.

I gave PES09 one last go (haven't touched it in weeks) and boy how crappy the gameplay is.

Couple of years ago, I would never have thought that I will sell a game console because of how badly WE/PES sucked. Sad really.

There so many games out there. There's no need to sell it.

I would sell my PS3 if I didn't love Fifa this year. I owned a PS2 just for PES, didn't need or want any other games. Football games are all that's worth playing for me. Got bored of MGS4 after about 4 hours, same with Resistance 2. Grand Theft Auto held my interest for about 3 days, same with Little Big Planet. Call Of Duty survived a few months before being put to rest because World at War's fucked up online parties ruined the game for me, and killing people gets pretty limited.

I have only found a handfull of games on the 360 have stood the test of time. COD4, Bad Company, Halo 3, Rock Band and Fifa 09 are the only games ive had for more than 3 months and i have had roughly 25-30 games since oct 2007.

thats his whole point... he doesnt like war games and i guess he doesnt like racing and other stuf., so he only uses it foe PES.

I actually just sold it with the game. I must say it's a nice closure to a rather disappointing winning eleven experience.

I tried. I downloaded Killzone, I downloaded so many demos but can't get the hang of them. To me it was always about WE/PES playing ML to death from release to release (I liked buying-selling players, which PES09 ruined that too). Also playing friends offline also lost its value this year cause of the awful ice-skating gameplay. I just didn't get the same satisfaction out of this next-gen stuff. and online? forget about it...

I tried fifa too, but i didn't like its ML equivalent.

I wish Konami could take into account the ex-loyal fans like me who would buy a $400 console just for their game.

Alot of people feel this way now about next-gen.Tbh theres certainly a lack of quality games out there atm.I would say though that cod mw is one of the best games i have ever played in about 20 odd years of gaming on any platform.I got rid of pes09 before christmas and still play pes6 with up-to-date OF when i need a football fix.Online play has taken over therefore needing less substance in games that we had before. Not many games now would stand the test of time like streetfighter has or other games.

what I will regret more is when pes2010 comes out and it is no where near the hype going on on forums and then the value of my PS3 would have diminished significantly that I can't sell it with a good price. Plus don't have much to do with the PS3 from now till next november...

If I did have an HDtv I would have used it for blu ray, but don't have that kind of money yet.... and already I've pushed the limits for Konamis next-gen marvels.
