Playing the Teutonic campaign and it is great. The Lithuanians really have it hard, shit units and having to deal with not only the Teutonic order and their almost invincible spearmen but the odd crusader army from europe turning up.

I just got Kingdoms. :dribble:

I can see some screen-shots of Templars on the back of the DVD box, and the helms they're wearing look like those of a Warhammer Chaos Knight.

They look evil, is what i'm saying.

All of the Campaigns are addictive as hell. I'm playing a Jerusalem one at the moment but have also a Union of Kalmer, New Spain and England on the go as well. The music is great, some very good new units and well worth the purchase

Start off with New Spain, it is enjoyable and hard in places. For an easy campaign play as the Mayans.

I tried but my computer was apparently running a program that was clashing with Total War, shite.

So now I started the Crusades campaign with Egypt, Barbarossa just drowned and the Crusade was called off. Jerusalem have some excellent units, so the advantage of the Egyptians is in sheer numbers and the expertise of Salah Al-Din. Although the Mamluks are quite nice.

Quick question: who occupies Constantinople? I have to take it and hold it for about 10 years for me to win. I suspect Venice is involved.

Awesome expansion by the way, worth every penny.

I'm going to install this thing now.

It's been lying on my desk for ages, which is incredible, but i've been rather busy... :dribble:

Byzantium at the beginning, but about 20-30 turns down the line (taking one to 1204 I presume) the Venetians come with a huge army, and more often that not take the city. Last time I foolishly marched out of the city and they bypassed me but next time I'll give them fucking hell.

Some fool called a Jihad on Constantinople, while I was trying to wipe out the Jerusalem forces and Antioch at the same time. Minute I send an army to Constantinople the Mongols invade, no doubt they'll come knocking with their insane horse riders.

I have to say the most enjoyable campaign is the British one. Yes its a shame how they depicted certain units such as the scots and Irish and no Kingdom of the Isles was irritating but it really has great gameplay and intelligent AI. It has took me 50 odd years to subdue the welsh and push into Scotland. Ireland is just a war of attrition. I retreat to my castles, inflict defeats on assaulting armies but then get my arse handed to me in the field as my troop types are shit.

But Dublin is firm as is downpatrick. Derry has just been sacked and taken from the scots. I sent an invasion army from Wales and took Cork, and exterminated the populace for good measure. Now I only have Trim, Tipperary, Athenry and another city i forget at present but it will be hard work as the bog headed micks keep ambushing my armies.

Norway and Scotland have put their differences aside and allied against me. This all went well until Edward the Scarred, Hammer of the Scots traveled North and happily smashed the shit out of both of them. Stirling, Edinburgh, Glasgow and Perth fell in holocausts of Slaughter and I brutally killed that haggis munching cunt William Wallace for good measure.

To say I'm enjoying it would be an understatement

I'm trying to finish the Crusade campaign first, the Mongols arrived and applied their usual threatening style by posting 5 large armies near one of your cities then wait for a few turns and suddenly attack a different town or move away completely. They took Aleppo after they threatened to take Krak de Chevaliers, even with the help of some Osman I troops I failed. Managed to secure Constantinople though, all left to do is exterminate Jerusalem but they have been travelling alot.

Worse is that Saladin died,

Just started playing last night.

I'm very impressed with this expansion. I wasn't expecting it to be this good.

I'm playing the Crusades Campaign. I picked the Egyptians, naturally. First order of business, taking over Jerusalem. I have killed all their Holy men and have them surrounded with three large armies.

I intend to leave no one alive.

The Knights Templar are truly a disgusting lot. They must be wiped off the face of the Earth.

I just started playing the Brittania Campaign, and it is indeed very enjoyable. For starters, the map is smaller, so you don't have to worry about governing vast lands. I love the units as well.

I wanted to play with the Welsh, but i thought it may be the most difficult, as you're completely surrounded by the English and, let's face it, it's a futile endeavour.

So, i'm going to play with Scotland. I will neutralize the Norwegians first, who seem to have great units, and then i will go for the Irish, leaving the Enlgish scum for the end.

This game never ceases to amaze me.

And to think i still to have two entire campaigns to go thorugh...

I still love the Americas campaign, although killing Richard the Lionheart in the siege of Acre the other day was a personal highlight.

Alright, give me minute. Just to make sure it is the right one, this is what it says: 24,1 MB, kingdoms. Where should I upload it?

Aye, i think that's the one. Although it could be the medieval2.exe one, i'm not sure.

I don't know somewhere safe where you can upload it.

megaupload, maybe?

EDIT: I checked, and it is the kingdoms exe that i need.

EDIT: Forget it, Barry. It seems i don't need it to patch.

Have i mentioned how stupid the speeches are? Whatever happened to Generals making longer and more inspiring speeches depending on the the General's prowess or how massive the battle is? I recall that one of my Generals' in the first Medieval, once spent over a minute, i think, making a speech to the troops.

I also hate how most units end up looking the same but with minor changes. That's just cheap. Anyone know where i can download some proper skins?

I'm getting fed up with the Scots. The highlight so far was Wallace's appearance and the killing and subsequent flaying of King Edward - or was it Henry? - as he was laying siege to Edinburgh with an army of Templars. The insolent cunt!

I think i'm just going to play with them a bit more, to see what units they get in the latter stages, and then move on to the Americas.
