Season 1 Update:

Just finished my first season with Inter, ended a respectable 3rd in Serie A, 1 point behind Napoli and 6 points behind Juve. Knocked out the Champions League (3rd in the group stage) but went on to win the Europa League and won the Coppa Italia against Juve in a tight 1-0 game.

Very happy with 2 trophies in my first season.

Nice new feature this year - you get to pick a 'favourite player' each season. My marquee signing is already living up to his €54m price tag with 30 goals in 43 games and a place in the Serie A Team of the Season.

Transfer Targets:

1 AMF out of: (depending on money and if I want to buy the finished article or a young talent)
J. Rodríguez
Marco Asensio
A. Halilović

1 LB out of:
Douglas Santos
Raphaël Guerreiro
Jorge

1 RB
T. Fosu-Mensah

Transfer Listed

C. Ansaldi (just accepted a €27.5m bid from Spurs for him)
I. Perišić
D. Santon
Y. M'Vila (time to cash in on this free transfer)

What the actual purpose of this?

Congrats on Europa League, I've never won it in PES!

Yea, i'm not sure ether what the actual purpose of this is!? All I know is you can add one of your own players each year to your 'favourites' list.
It does say in the information that one day your favourite player might become a club legend so i'm guessing it might give that player a greater chance of gaining Legendary player role??

I know Rúben Neves would be straight in there for you

Congrats on Europa League, I've never won it in PES!

Thanks, I'm pleased about that. I've only won it once before, a few years ago (when it was called the UEFA Cup) but i'm pleased I have because i'll probably never be in that competition again. Plus it keeps a nice record of every trophy you've won as manager this year in your managers tab next to your favourite players and offers from other clubs etc.

I saw this too! I made Cozzari my favorite player. I think it's pretty neat actually and I like seeing the cutscene associated with it. And it's cool because it will help me remember all the players I love over the course of my Master Leauge.

I'm playing with Real zaragoza I'm 20th in Segunda and having a REALLY hard time but loving every second of it.

Yea I thinks its a nice addition to this years game as well. Also it might have some significance because as i've said above...

"It does say in the information that one day your favourite player might become a club legend so i'm guessing it might give that player a greater chance of gaining Legendary player role??"

I'm playing with Real zaragoza I'm 20th in Segunda and having a REALLY hard time but loving every second of it.

I was struggling at the start as well, first 10-15 games I couldn't score and kept losing. Got knocked out of the Champions League at the group stage (but that turned out ok in the end)
I changed the control settings, passing, shooting, through ball etc until I found a nice set up that worked for me. I'm playing on basic shooting now and I find this a lot better than advanced or manual because it used to put to much hight on the shots and I couldn't keep anything down, even with a tap in form 6 yards!!
Glad you're enjoying it, keep the faith and things will improve

You probably know this, but in Advanced you have to aim towards your goal to place a low shot. Aiming to the opposition will make it go sky high.

Yes I know, it doesn't feel natural to me. I like to aim and shoot where I point. I tried various control settings at the start and now I've settled on one that I like - and it works because the 2nd half of my season was a massive contrast to the first.

I like Basic shooting. It's not the "press the button and score" some people claim, you can aim to pretty much anywhere, including height, it only helps a bit more in long distance shots.

The passing assistances are more aggressive, and I can't really play in manual passing. I get passing accuracies hovering 70%, but the major problem is that I don't feel the same ease in playing. Eveything else seems/feels different.

Yes thats true, i feel basic shooting gets a hard rep but in reality it doesn't make the game any easier, just more enjoyable.

It's the through balls that I love to play, ether down the wings or through the middle that required more attention. You don't want to make it to easy but at the same time you want it to be realistic because top players can pick out passes that most others would only dream of.

PS. I've got a signature now, gone from casual to semi-casual! :D

Oh man I have so much to share now that I've fully updated my game and gotten rid of all the fake teams and players.

Playing with Real Zaragoza in Segunda. I bring in a lot of young players, some on loan some on a free transfer. Fou-Mensah from United is amazing a real rock at the back.

Anyway 9 games in and I have no wins at all. I'm finding it incredibly hard but scarily realistic. I've changed tactics so much at this point I'm already mentally preparing for the offseason. Then I decide to go with the Geggenpress and I started playing my high stamina guys except for one guy - Mattia Cozzari - a LEGEND in the making.

This 17-year-old Italian plays beyond his years and he totally runs the midfield for me. We start winning 2-1 here, 3-2 there. We claw back againt Alacorn to tie it 1-1 in the last minutes BUT they score in the 93rd to win 2-1 but we are looking better.

We beat BOTH Getafe and Levante (amazing achievement as they are 2-3 in the league) Both by a score of 1-0 and with me holding on for dear life at the end.

After 2 months of being 21st in the league we are now 12th and looking FAR better.

Mazzari has 5 assists and both him and Cabrera (my centerback) made the team of the month.

Cabrera (67) btw is such an interesting case, he's my worst CB stat wise but easily the best performing. He only got a runout after Popa (71) got injured and he's taken that spot and made it his own.

Anyway the team is doing better and better and I made Cozzari one of "My Favorite players"

I plan to take Zaragoza FAR but whenever I leave for a bigger club the lad is coming with me.

I do hope no one big comes in for him though, I have a rule in Master League. If a big side comes in for my young player I have to sell no matter how much I may hate it. I like to keep it realistic.

Cantona would be disapppointed.

That's a risky rule. But if you want a true challenge (in that regard), include every club above yours in the team ranking in that "big side" list. Like the big club clause in PES2015.

Good to hear about somebody else playing the Segunda. I've got a diary written out for my Mallorca game which has about 15 matches left of the first season. It's fun.

So out of the targets I listed above here's who I signed:

J. Rodríguez - €21.5m (negotiated down from €28m)
Douglas Santos - €17m (initial price was €33m so I offered a part exchange deal with Y. M'Vila)
T. Fosu-Mensah - €7.1m
Pulisic - €6.6m (already signed him in March last season and will probably loan him out for some regular game time)

I. Perišić - Napoli came in with an offer of €15m but it was under market value and also I don't want to sell to a league rival.
D. Santon - Nobody wants him as of yet.

My team looks like this at the start of my 2nd season.

these are always fun to read.

I'll be starting my ML soon but plan on creating my own team with default players at first. I did this with 2016 and played 11 seasons (would have been more if the roster update came out on day 1 rather than 2 months later).

Keep on with the stories. I'll share mine when I start it.

One thing that I've always enjoyed is crazy transfers from the AI. Anyone experienced any yet?

That portuguese midfield though. Only missing Neves and Bernardo (his stats are complete shit in the game).

Beautiful isn't it! :dribble: I thought you would like that, could potentially keep the same 2 CMFs for years with their development progress.

I've never owned Neves in any PES ML but I think i'll own him at some stage this year, even if its with a new save after I get board of this one.

@ KingShorty

I'll keep it updated as much as possible each week - I start a new job soon so i'm cramming in as much PES17 as I can now!

Neuer went to Napoli at the end of my first season, but thats a bout as crazy as it's gotten so far (doesn't look like i'm scoring against them next season)

Summer Transfer Window is closed and Season 2 is well under way.

Some last minute deals from Nerazzurri on deadline day:

I. Perišić - Out for €15.5m to PSV
Marco Asensio - In for €10.1m from Real

Aubameyang has been playing out of position as an SS for 1 full season and has now learned the role fully. (not sure if this is the standard amount of time for a player to learn a new position this year)

2 future stars blossom:

Renato Sanches had the 'flashing development arrow' at the beginning of my 1st season and he's just gone and got it again at the beginning of my 2nd season! :w00t Never had this happen before:

Leroy Sené had it the following week later so it was hard (but fun) trying to make them both score/assist in the games to get the MoM and the 7.5+ match rating, lots of Sané assists for Sanches long range screamers!

1 trophy already in the bag this season with a thrilling 3-2 victory over Atletico Madrid in the Super Cup.

It is happening again
I really do hate that they changed the colours of the attributes. It was fine as it was. The higher values don't stand out as much as they used to. I hope they change it back to how it was in future games, in case I ever return to the franchise.

Yea I was like that at first but i've got used to it now. If you think about it then it does make sense, kind of. Green = Good & Red = Bad.
I agree though, no need to change it a.k.a don't fix whats not broken!

...in case I ever return to the franchise.

Ali, you're an Admin on PESGaming! :D You'll be back...when they fully license Bolton.
