Amateur is right , I mean how hard is it to make like 3-4 default dribbling styles lol , the dribblings that players under AI control use , so 1 style would be more like stepovers , CR9 style , 1 would be more like simple effective dribbles , feints eg. Messi , etc..

your talking about personal taste kid not logic! what you see and what i see must be different, you say pes has replicated fifa shamelessly where as i say its a major improvement (as we are in very early days) and have much room to add more and come up with new ideas!

I really dont get why fifa fans (which you clearly are) are saying we are deluded for following pes aimlessly when fifa has been far worse to its fans!! for the past 3-4 years you have had no trophies celebrations, the same static entrance, bugs and glitches for goal celebrations, player likeness off the topic, very poor manager mode.

you mention replicating sliders like that's a major thing!!! i really couldn't care if the shared exactly the same menu layout if it meant the game play was flowing and realistic which going by the trailer its sure on the way to that!!

you call pes unrealistic and not original??? wait till pes 2011 and fifa 11 come and then we can talk about realism!!!

you must understand if you bad mouth a game on the forum you will come under criticism especially when its no way near to being finished!!!

you said EA has been bad to their fans for 3-4 years .. let me add on to that ! the entire last GEN, and ps one its soo long ! . TBH konami can make lets say 2 more bad games , and they still will have a better seires than FIFA in comparison , look at iss pro , iss pro 2 , pes, pes2, pes 3 , pes 4 , pes 5 , pes 6 , 8-9 years.

we should forget about who copied who i admit, everyone does it and has done it . i remember alot of fifa fans becomming PES fans back in the years.

what matters is that konami have now built a much more bond between its self and its community , which is a step in the right direction alone.

I am a PES fan, I have stated that I prefer PES many times, I have never bothered visiting any FIFA sites, etc, etc; the fact that you think I'm a "FIFA fan" is enough for me to get out of your way.

Yeah -- I (clearly) am a FIFA fan -- I am deluded,

Very early days, very early days...

Everyone is entitled to their opinion here. It doesn't matter if it is for PES or against PES, they are entitled to it.

If Amatuer wants to criticise PES11, then he can do so. He's giving his reasons on why he is doing so, so it is all good.

Yes, this is a PES forum, but it doesn't mean that every member must praise the game. This forum allows people to post how they really feel (as long as it is within the lines of the forum rules).

But how can you criticise and make judgements on the gameplay when you havnt even played it and is not even the final product? I think people here are getting jumped up because making final judgements on how the game plays and how well the skills are implemented as if what you say is fact telling others who disagree that they lack logic when you havent even touched the game yourself, boarders on the deluded. Its far from simply stating your opinion in a reasonable manner, its arrogance believing that everything you say is right and cannot be contended.

I agree some of the animations from the video looked a bit dogdy, konami will need to get balance between certain players who can perform a certain level of skills, moves akin to his ability. While the higher skill players should have a higher repertoire but at the same time a lot of responsiblity should be given to the user regarding the timing and positioning of using such skill as it shouldnt be a case of simply tapping the analogue stick and every player successfully pulling off a russian roulette or overhead flick up. However Im not jumping to the conclusion and saying Konami have defintely f'd this feature up, I'l resever my judgement until I get my hands on it and then it will be valid.

Another thing that concerned me is the goalkeepers in the video as the shots looked to go in very easily, but that could be due to the level of difficulty that it was placed on for the trailer/promo. Again, stating an opinion rather than getting on everyones nerves and saying PES this year has crap goalies when I dont even know yet

Its a lot more promising than the earlier beta video that was released earlier this month which showcased quite a few glitches.

I'm pretty sure Amatuer did not criticise the gameplay. I think he was just annoyed at seeing Messi doing skills that he does not really do in real life.

Maybe he was a bit over the top, as the trailer is just to give a sneak peak of the upcoming game, and he, you, myself and everyone else (bar Konami) have a clue of how it plays. But that doesn't mean that he should be blasted on the basis that he was criticising PES.

I watched the trailer, I was thrilled by the graphics, but I am disappointed with the actual gameplay and animations shown,,

Then goes on to rant about everything wrong with PES11 as if he's played it.

My bad. Must have missed that. Still, my point stands, as the first comments he recieved was about him criticising PES on a whole.

I mentioned something about the gameplay "shown" in the trailer -- the trailer does shows a bit of gameplay, it isn't 100% animations and dribbling tricks,

And ignoring the latest trailer, we have seen little bits of gameplay in that other video-clip,

I have said more than once that, in my opinion, PES 2011 will be the best PES to date... and I have no doubts about that,

By watching the few video-clips that we have seen so far, reading the hands-on (early) reviews, you can say whatever you want, but I think I have a good idea of where Konami is taking the game,

"engineered for freedom" -- that's obvious enough, and will make something of a difference,

However, my problems with the game have to do with other things, things that have little to do with animations or passing; and so far, Konami has not mentioned anything about the areas that I care about,

Therefore, I am convinced that PES 2011 will be the best PES to date; but at the same time, I'm not really thrilled about it because the game will remain the same old BS at its core,

So in terms of gameplay, I am not really that excited about the "engineered for freedom" theme, I will probably end up buying the game, but I'm not thrilled,

And in terms of animations and dribbling tricks, I have already expressed how I feel about what was shown in the trailer; I think it could have been better, I expected something better... not the first nor the last time this will happen,

As for the "early days" argument -- really? that still works?

Perhaps I am judging too quickly, who knows, cool thing about it is that we will always get to see who was right and who was wrong about the game,

I stand by what I said earlier,

Thats fair enough and I agree that some of the tricks can be better. But keep in mind that most of the moves and skills in the trailer were actually shown in the promo not actual live gameplay footage.

As for the early days argument, it still stands at this point because they have roughly 4months to polish things up. Obviously they are not going to be adding anything revolutionary at this point, but that gives them enough time to polish up animations and cut out the glitches bugs before its sent off to quality assurance

Taste......is a very personal thing, so debating about it is always pointless.

I agree,

Taste in music, in politics, in religion, in real life -- is a very personal thing,

On the other hand, taste in a video game? I think it's different with video games; for example, you cannot really say that this religion is better than that other religion without sounding biased.

On the other hand, you could easily say that this game is superior to that other video game, without sounding biased, by simply presenting facts,

With video games,

People have different definitions for the word "fun" -- some people will think a game is fun because they can shut-down their brain, forget about the world, and simply exploit obvious flaws repetitively; on the other hand, other people will say that game is shit because it doesn't challenges them, because it revolves around that old formula of entertainment.

We are all entitled to an opinion -- however -- that does not changes the FACT that a video game is either better or worst.

Although of course, PES is an exception,

The tricky thing when talking about PES is that I cannot really say that PES 2010 is in fact better than PES5 or PES6 -- QUESTIONABLE improvements,

So in this respect, I agree with you,

My point is, basically -- I think it's about time Konami produces a game that is in fact better than PES5 and PES6,

I'm not sure PES 2011 will do that, but hopefully it will be that game, we'll see,

Amateur. You say many things correct and I do agree with you mostly but here is a different thing.
Let me explain.
You said that leo messi doesn't show these skills shown in the game. I agree that doing it with him decreases individuality. But Messi can do them in reality but chooses to use simple moves. And in the end konami can't make messi not do these because in reality he can. It's up to the player controlling him to decide what move to use so he has to make the game look real. It's up to the player to player to play with messi like reality.
I would like it if konami show some simple body feints like messi does in future gameplays. :)
So in the end it doesn't decrease individuality. However, WHEN AI CONTROLLED, I EXPECT MESSI TO DO THESE MUCH LESS AND USE MORE FEINTS. That's when individuality will shine. :)

Yeah, I suppose it's better -- give the option to the user,

However, I am sure I am not alone when I say that most people would have preferred to see Leo Messi dribbling like Messi,

If that had been the case, people would be discussing how great the player individuality looks; which unfortunately, is not the case at the moment,

But I agree with your point, it is better for Konami to appeal to everyone, thus giving the user the option of playing realistically or unrealistically,

Though it must be clear, that it can seriously damage the game's credibility if these unrealistic dribbling tricks can work each and every time, thus making the game predictable and repetitive and even more flawed than it currently is; which is a huge problem with FIFA,

Let's all stop for a second and calm down lol...

This is a early trailer of PES2011. Surely Konami are still working on the game. I've said it before and i'll say it again - Let's wait for the demo and more trailers and gameplay videos.

But this is a forum so i'm not gonna stop anyone from nattering away :p
